This is an amazing place located in the northeast of the country.
This is a mountain range in the length of 120 km. The place is beautiful, with glaciers, pleasant picturesque alpine meadows, pine forest. No wonder this place has become so popular with tourists from Italy and Europe and the rest of the world. It is true that the Dolomites are not advertised like other popular resorts, so not everyone knows about it. This, in principle, is not a disadvantage, because people are not the sea, the contingent of vacationers is very decent. Here you really relax, you gain strength.

The climate is mild. The air temperature usually ranges from 0 to -5 ° C. The coldest months are January and February, when the thermometer can reach -20 ° C. Since in these areas low humidity, even in cold weather, tourists feel comfortable and not they freeze. . The name of the mountain comes from the name of the French scientist Deod de Dolomieux. In the 18th century, he was the first to explore this alpine area and discovered that the mountains are composed of limestone and other rocks hitherto unknown to the scientific community. This rock, first described by Dolomier, was later named after a geologist - the Dolomites, and the mountains, after the Dolomites. But that is not the only name of the mountain range. His name used to be Monty Pallidi. The origin of this name is explained by a beautiful legend. The prince once lived in the Alpine countries, and fell in love with the moon princess of unearthly beauty. Yes, I fell in love so much that I couldn’t imagine life without her, so I took the beauty to my wife. But the earthly life of the princess did not bring joy. The person of the monarchy fell ill, fell asleep day by day. And all because I missed my native lunar mountains so much. The gnomes came to their aid: they wove a veil from the moon's threads and covered the mountains with it. Thus the Dolomites acquired their milky gray color. What about the princess? She, of course, recovered and lived a long and happy life with the prince.

Despite the uniqueness and simple beauty of the Dolomites, they received official recognition relatively recently, in 2009 - UNESCO included them on its famous World Heritage List. If you want to spend your vacation here, they have over 50 resorts and hotels.
