Hey guys! It's @aquariyoursxx once again. I've been feeling down lately because of some reasons and I didn't have the motivation to create any contents. This was actually my 4th attempt already, LOL~ So, anyway I hope you enjoy!

A lot people working out, especially for the beginners, we tend to forget or not even know anything about warm-up and cool-down exercises. Perhaps, we don't know how useful and essential both exercises are in our fitness journey. First, let's ellaborate the two terms for better understanding.

Warm-Up Exercises- these are exercises done before starting a workout

Cool-down Exercises- these are exercises done after a workout

Now let's tackle how beneficial the two exercises are.

Warm-Up Exercises

Warm-Up exercises are done before a workout to prepare your body. This usually contains exercises for your cardiovascular system hence having walk/run in place, jumping jacks and large movement exercises. This increases your body temprature and blood flow to your muscles all over the body, providing the oxygen needed to function. Warm -up exercises as said to preoare your body for your workout also decreases the possiblity of soreness, body aches and injuries.

Cool-down Exercises

Contrary to warm-up exercises, cool-down exercises helps the body return back it's steady state in terms of breathing, heart rate, temperature and blood flow. When we move fast and do hard activities, we breathe fast to give the energy (with oxygen) our muscles need through blood flow, this is an aerobic method. However, if we train too hard, we breathe faster for our body to produce energy with the use of oxygen, another substance is used to produce it [energy], this is called lactate or lactic acid. If this substance continues to build up for longer hours, it will result to soreness and muscle pain, even causing temporary injuries. Hence, a proper breathing should be practiced. With cool down, it helps the production of energy with the use of oxygen gradually come back to decrease the lactate build-up. This means, even after a strenous activity, soreness and muscle pain will be not likely to happen.

I hope with this article, you learned a thing or two. And I hope you would be able to practice doing these important exercises.
