What exactly are cocktails, or where do they come from and who are the most famous and best among them? It is a well-known fact that the first cocktail originated in the USA, more precisely in New Orleans, in the middle of the 16th century, and was called "The Sazerac". It was made from crushed ice, Herbsaint liqueur, sugar, Sazerac Rye whiskey, bitter liqueur and lemon. And as for the name - the word "cocktail" is due to the Spaniards. Namely, in the campaigns to Latin America, they brought with them culture, religion, and, among other things, the fight of roosters, where, after the fight, they always celebrated, so they mixed drinks of different colors like a rooster's tail.

The top 10 best cocktail :

1. Martini Dry -Place cold, dry ice cubes in a mixing bowl (shaker). Then add the pre-chilled Bombay Sapphire and Vermouth. Stir vigorously from bottom to top with a teaspoon for about 10 seconds. Then strain into a pre-chilled Martini glass and add 1-2 olives. You can cool the Martini glass in the fridge or by filling it with ice. You can use ice cubes for this purpose, but it is much better to use crushed ice. The goal is to further cool the cocktail because stirring achieves a temperature of 6 °, while the drink that is shaken in a shaker is cooled to approximately 4 °. Another effect to be achieved is that the glass is blurred when serving this drink. Therefore, Martini Dry is served IMMEDIATELY after preparation. It is necessary to emphasize that when making this cocktail, Gin is poured first, and then Vermouth is added, because that way, reportedly, ingredients rate better. Olive, on the other hand, serves not only as a decoration, but also for the essential oils to reach the drink, which raises the quality of the drink.

2. Tequila Sunrise - This cocktail is prepared directly in a 2 dl glass by first putting ice cubes and then adding orange juice. It is best to use 100% Plowing Juice because it is the most natural and not too sweet. Then add 0.4 dl of tequila and Grenadine syrup; a traditional red syrup used as an addition to many cocktails. It is good to pour the syrup in front of the guests, because the effect of slowly lowering the thick syrup to the bottom of the glass looks absolutely fantastic. If you do everything right, a yellow line of orange juice will remain on the surface. And finally, the cocktail is stirred with a bar spoon and ready to consume.

3. Long Island Iced Tea- To prepare this cocktail, you need to pour all the ingredients into a shaker and shake well. Then strain everything into large glasses with ice and finally top up with Coca-Cola.

This cocktail is known for containing a lot of alcohol. The original recipe for Long Island Iced Tea contains: 1/2 lime, 20 ml of orange juice, 7 ml of triple seca, 20 ml of rum, 20 ml of gin, 20 ml of vodka, Coca-Cola.

4. Margarita- Add 4 ice cubes, tequila, orange liqueur - Cointreau and juice of 1 lemon to the shaker and shake all together briefly and vigorously, then strain into glasses that you have previously decorated by dipping the wet edge of the glass in salt. The salt rim is not only used for decoration, but is also very important for the taste of cocktails. It is best to moisten the rim of the glass with a slice of lemon. When dipping the glass in salt, it is necessary to hold it by the stand so that the bowl is facing down, and then wipe the inner edge with a napkin so that the salt does not get into the drink. The outer edge of the cup is also trimmed with a napkin so that the wreath of salt is of even width.

5. Shirley Temple- This non-alcoholic cocktail is prepared by pouring all the ingredients into a glass, over ice, and gently stirring with a teaspoon. The ingredients are Grenadines - 30 ml and Sprite -180 ml. 1/2 slice of orange or 1 Maraschino cherry is mainly used for decoration.

6. Cosmopolitan - The main ingredient of this cocktail is vodka, so it would be desirable to be of the best quality.

To prepare, take 30 ml of vodka, 15 ml of cranberry juice, 15 ml of triple sec liqueur and 15 ml of lemon or lime juice. Mix all the ingredients well and serve without ice in large martini glasses. You can additionally decorate the glass with lemon or lime.

Pineapple slices or Maraschino cherries can be used for decoration.

8. Bloody Mary - To prepare this cocktail, you need to put ice cubes in half in a shaker, and 90 ml of tomato juice, 40 ml of vodka, 15 ml of lemon juice, a few drops of tabasco and worcestershire sauce, pepper, a pinch of grated lemon peel, then shake well together and serve with a stalk of celery.

9. Mojito - They say he was a favorite of Ernest Hemingway who was a frequent guest at a bar in Cuba where the cocktail was invented. Mojito was created in 1946 at La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, where the famous writer drank. This refreshing cocktail is a combination of rum and lime that refreshes and lifts the mood. The name of the cocktail is a combination of the words moist (mojadito) and the name of the culinary sauce (mojo) which corresponds to the character of this tropical and exotic drink.

Put the ingredients of 6 fresh mint leaves, 60 ml of lime juice, 20 ml of plain syrup, 60 ml of light rum and lemon powder in a shaker and mix well with whipped ice. Decorate with lime peel and mint leaves.
