Done with my laundry. Already folded my clothes and placed these in my cabinet. Time for a late lunch now. I'm having chicken ramen noodle soup, hard boiled eggs, and steamed buns with meat filling. The eggs were left-overs from breakfast this morning. The ramen noodles and the steamed buns, I bought from the mall where I did my laundry. Today is my rest day, the last of my three-day rest day. As always, it is errands day as well. While waiting for my laundry, I wrote this post and later on I'll be reading your posts and leaving comments and tips as well. Back then, I would read a book while waiting for my laundry. Muay Thai I've been training muay thai for quite some time already. I stopped because of the pandemic. i started with boxing and then trained muay thai as well. Anyway, yesterday, during my rest day, I was able to do muay thai again. Found a gym near my place. It is the same gym where I started boxing - same brand name but different owners. The quality of training and coaches is consistent, something that I like with this specific gym. Did three rounds each of shadow boxing, speedball, double-ended bag, and punching/kicking bag. Plus six rounds of mitts. Over-all, a great session. Can't wait to go back to train again. Anyone here trains muay thai? #Allenwrites #muaythai #workout

Bukayo Posted the other day about getting native snacks. My favorite of the three - Chinese buchi, buchi Tagalog, and bukayo - was bukayo. I liked it so much I got another order. Finished all six in one sitting. Bukayo is a Philippine sweet delicacy made from grated coconut fried in brown sugar. The main ingredients are gelatinous coconut, water, sugar or brown sugar. Prison Ramen - Second Day This is the second time we had prison ramen here at work. Mentioned in a previous post about the prison ramen we had the first time. I liked it so much that I bankrolled this time out. Same thing. Base ingredient is the noodles and then we got items in the grocery. Noodles. Seaweed wrap. Chicken sausages. Ground beef. Eggs. Sesame oil. Hot sauce. Chili paste. Didn't know a hot mess like this can taste so good! Have you had prison ramen? Prison Ramen I have office colleagues who are foodies as well. Twice this week, we had what they called prison ramen. No idea why they called it that but it was delicious, filling, and affordable. So this is just the regular noodles cooked as usual but other ingredients like crispy pork rind, chicken sausage, hard boiled eggs, seaweed wraps, and sesame oil were added. There was also some spicy garlic paste that was added. You basically get a portion of the noodles and add whatever toppings you want. Three different types of buchi for my snack. The two popular ones are the Chinese buchi with sesame seeds and the local one. The third one is made from sweet potato and the filling is actually muscovado sugar. The first two buchis that I mentioned have red mung beans as fillings. This is the first time that I tasted the sweet potato buchi and surprisingly, it is my favorite among the three. Good day fellow noisers. It has been a while since I last posted. In fact, it has been awhile since I last logged in the site. Offline life got me busy. Anyway, one of the things that keeps me busy is doing laundry. A mundane task but highly satisfying. Laundry day is for me is Sunday or Monday since those are my rest days and even if I wake up early, the line is still long as you can see on the pic below. Got some training gis and bed sheets this time so I had to get two machines. As mundane as this task is, it gives me joy getting clean clothes! LOL! Laptop Stand One of my recent purchases from Lazada. It is a good buy since I got it at a more affordable price plus it helps my lap top not heat up. Today is my rest day and it is laundry day. The laundry shop opens at 10:00am, I was there at 10:15am but the wait time was already for an hour. So I logged in and decided to have breakfast while waiting. I also shopped for some groceries and by the time I was done, it was already 11:15am. I came back to the laundry shop and sure enough, it was my turn already. Took me a little over an hour to complete the whole process. Breakfast For Dinner. Just had my dinner here in the office. It is longsilog or longganisa, itlog, and sinangag (Sapnish sausage, sunny side up egg, and fired rice). Coffee Bars. Let me start that this isn't a paid post. When I buy donuts from Dunkin' Donuts, I either buy Boston Creme or Choco Honey Dipped. Just those two flavors. I'm glad that I tried their coffee bars - all these flavors are delicious. These are Mocha Latte, Caramel Macchiato, and Espresso. The donuts have a coffee-based flavor and have coffee frosting and coffee toppings. If you are a coffee and donut lover, these donuts are for you. Have you tried these? Coins. I'm one of those who always keep my coins at the end of the day. When I was younger, I have a piggy bank. Nowadays, I tape ten pieces of coins of the same denomination - 1 peso, 5 pesos, 10 pesos, and 20 pesos - and then have it changed in either a local store or i deposit it in the bank. This was one tubs that I was able to fill up. In the end, I was able to have these coins exchanged for Php1,500. That's almost US$29. Not bad. Do you do the same? #Allenwrites #savings #coins

Finally! Was able to go boxing again yesterday. Went to a gym that also offers boxing. This gym though is known more for their basketball-centric trainings. They also have badminton courts on on certain days, they have a Crossfit group that trains there. My timing is off though plus cardio isn't there like it used to. Later on, will go back and try muay thai. The boxing coach is also a muay thai coach and was a professional fighter before. Kalamay Sa Latik Good day fellow noisers. My snack yesterday - kalamay. This is my favorite. I drink the sweet syrup which is made of palm sugar. Of course, the kalamay itself is made from sweet glutinous rice. It is usually topped with toasted coconut oil with toasted coconut cream curd called latik. This was actually a gift for me. I had helped someone with some documents and assisted the person with processing some claims of hers. She hails from the province known for kalamay sa latik. She gave me eight tubs. I gave four to my family, three to the security and utility personnel here in the condo, and kept one tub for myself. #Allenwrites #kalamay #kalamaysalatik

Good day fellow noisers. It was a busy day for me as I had to finish a report presentation due tomorrow. Took a good couple of hours before I was able to finish it. In between doing that, I also did errands. Anyway, it was a long day so decided to reward myself with a good meal. Got my ole' reliable Boston Creme donuts and a box of coffee-flavored inspired donuts as well. Will write separate post about it tomorrow. Of course, my main meal, was a cheeseburger sandwich, a spaghetti meal, and one-piece spicy chicken with rice. I was happy with my meal and I felt rewarded after finishing it. Good day fellow noisers and food trippers. Recently, I wrote about having pork sisig wraps. This time around, I had tuna wraps. Been making my own tuna spread. Nothing fancy, just canned tuna and mayonnaise. This time though, instead of just bread or crackers, I use the tuna spread on soft tortillas. Mind-blown! This is the best tuna spread that I have made so far and it was perfect with soft tortillas. This is what I'm having, what else is everyone having today? This was the scene earlier in the day. The rains caused long traffic jams along EDSA. An office mate of mine who lives down south experienced this first hand. She had been on the road for three hours already and she is nowhere our office. I'm working from home today so I need not brave the rain or the traffic. My officemate decided not to push through going to work and asked if she can stay here at my place and work here instead. Of course, I agreed and waited for her downstairs in the lobby. Her shift just ended and now she is waiting for her parents to pick her up. Seems she will still be here for another hour or so. Good evening fellow noisers. Almost 9:00pm here in Manila. My Sunday is almost over and a new work week is about to begin. Of course, I was able to relax and unwind and do my errands today. Among the errands is buying groceries and drinking water. Pictured are teh two grocery bags that I got and the water gallon. Both the grocery and water refilling station are located downstairs so it was very convenient. I was able to buy the groceries for the month and this five-gallon water will last me two weeks. For those who are not aware,sisig is made of chopped pig cheeks and pig ears and grilled with onions, eggs (mayonnaise if you aren't a purist). I just put some grilled sisig in the middle of the wrap, add my choice of condiments, and I'm done. Sold Item - Darth Vader hoodie The other day, I mentioned about my side hustle of selling items in my online store, Trip Shop Nine. Sales were not as good during the pandemic because I wasn't selling essential items. I sold shirts, jackets, and sports memorabilia. Anyway, recently, I was able to sell this Darth Vader hoodie. It isn't a registered product but it is a good print. It has a Darth Vader print in the front and a 'Join The Dark Side' text at the back. Sold it to a work colleague and she will get it once we get back to the office. I would have shipped it to her but since she is at the province now, the shipping fee will be expensive. This is a personal item that I owned before and it is still in a fairly good condition. I was able to sell it for the same amount I got it so I'm happy with the sale. Online Selling Good day fellow noisers. One of my sources of income is online selling. Used to have an eBay account as well as a Sulit.com account. For those who are not familiar with Sulit.com, it was Sulit.com then became OLX and then eventually got bought out by Carousell. Anyway, ditched eBay because of their fees and then eventually launched a new online shop called TripShopNine in Instagram and then in FaceBook. Managed to make sales here and there. Definitely took a hit during the pandemic as what I'm selling ain't essential items. Anyway, will start posting my experiences and the items that I'm selling here in Noise.cash. What's up fellow noisers? So last March 20, I was invited to a christening of the daughter of my college buddy. We continue to be good friends and in fact we actually put up a lending company as a business with three other college buddies of ours. Anyway, all four of us were invited but only two of us were able to attend. Anyway, it was still a lot of fun. It was a small get-together with just the family and friends invited. I think we were only fifty people in the reception. Even though I was a godfather, I didn't go to the church anymore as advised by my friend. There are still restrictions in the number of people allowed to be present in the church even though the city's alert level is already at its lowest at Alert Level 1. The reception was held in a popular pizza restaurant and there was a lot of food and drinks served. After the reception, we went to my friend's place and shared a couple of drinks. I think I downed seven bottles of beer. Didn't stay too late because I had work the next day plus, I went to a political rally near my place. It was time well spent with friends and with my god daughter. As a present, I got a baby bag for my god daughter. I got it from Baby Company. The bag is big enough to put diapers, milk, feeding bottles, plus everything and anything that parents pack for their babies. As a souvenir, they gave away pocket rosaries to the god parents.
