Good day fellow noisers. Been awhile since I last posted here. Just got busy. It is my rest day from work so took a break from the laptop as well. Anyway, posted a couple of meals recently and a constant in those meals were mangoes. Decided to go to the market to purchase some. I bought the yellow ripe mangoes and the green Indian mangoes as we call it here in Manila. The Indian mangoes are green in color but they are ripe as well with a greenish-yellowish hue. Safe to say that I had my fill of mangoes during my meals. How is everyone doing and which mango do you prefer? Good day fellow food trippers. Dinner last night was at the same canteen I ate at in my previous post. This time around I had fried eggplant, fried milkfish, and some green mangoes. There were a dipping sauces of soy sauce and chili, soy sauce with chili, crushed garlic, and chopped onions, and fish paste. It was another enjoyable meal. Good afternoon fellow noisers. Mentioned in my previous post about having some home-cooked meal in a nearby canteen/restaurant in my place. After having that dinner, went to a fast food for some desert. Got some fries and ice cream sundae. The hot fries were dipped in the ice cream sundae. Weird combination but it does work. The fries were newly-cooked, hot, and of course salty. The ice cream sundae, was cold and sweet. Two contrasts in tastes but works well together. Good day fellow noisers. Already mentioned about eating in a nearby canteen that my friend recommended to me. They serve home-cooked food. Even the ambiance feels like home. Anyway, had a chance to eat there again. This time around got some fried black mackerel scad (galunggong), mussels (tahong), and grated green mangoes. Also got two bottles of soda. Sweets for today. It is my rest day so decided to treat myself a bit. Got some chocolates to munch on for the res of the day. Twix and Mars are popular chocolate bars. Twix has been a favorite since childhood. Although, Three Musketeers is my most favorite chocolate. It don't matter since all three are manufactured by the same company. Choconut is a local brand. Good day fellow food trippers. Hope all is well with everyone. Surprised that it rained all of a sudden. Do stay dry. Lunch for today is pork sisig with egg. Pork sisig is a popular bar chow. It is usually made from pig cheeks or ears and deep fried until it is crispy. It is then chopped into smaller bits and pieces and served on a sizzling plate with egg and lots of chili. Good day fellow food trippers . Posted my fried pork and Hainanese rice yesterday. For today it is still Hainanese rice plus spicy chicken and steamed sharksfin. The crunchiness of the chicken is just right and of course the steamed sharksfin is delicious as ever. Both go well with the spicy soy sauce with chili flakes. Hi fellow food trippers! Valentine's Day themed donuts are my default snack for today. Got it on a nice deal as well. All six donuts for just US$2.73. The heart-shaped ones have fillings. Hi fellow food trippers. Wasn't able to post yesterday, was busy with work. Anyway, got invited for dinner by a good friend who turned out to be living in one of the nearby condos here in my area. She said that there was a canteen near her place that serves the best home-cooked foods. So off we went to dinner. I couldn't get proper photos of the food but managed to take a picture of the fried fish and dipping sauce. We call this 'daing the bangus' (deep fried milkfish). We also had 'nilagang baka' (beef soup), and 'pinakbet' (mixed veggies with fish paste). It was a good dinner and a nice break from fast food meals. Good day fellow noisers. It has been a couple of weeks since Typhoon Odette hit but relief efforts continue on. We have a relief drive here in our condominium. So far, residents have donated mostly canned food and easy to cook food, toiletries, medicines, and cash. There was an advisory not to donate clothes and other personal items due to the current pandemic. So far, the relief drive continues and we have made two substantial donations to relief groups on the ground bringing these items and aid to the people affected by Typhoon Odette. #TyphoonOdette #reliefdrive #reliefefforts

Good day fellow noisers. Coming from my rest days so I was able to prepare breakfast today. Decided to have some eggplant mixed with ground pork and egg plus fried dried fish. The food went well with fried rice and a dipping sauce of spicy vinegar. Here in the Philippines, we call the eggplant dish 'tortang talong' while the two fried fish variants are 'tuyo' and 'danggit'. Here is the Christmas Tree in the lobby of the hotel where I stayed during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. I actually checked out awhile ago and now I'm here at home. My Christmas eve dinner was not the traditional one. Had a Subway tuna sandwich which is a favorite of mine and beef quesadillas. The tuna sandwich always manages to deliver the goods. It has been a favorite of mine all this time. The beef quesadillas was a first for me and it did not disappoint. I might go and grab the other variants next time. Here is another Christmas tree post but with a twist. Also included photos of the food that we had for our office Christmas party and the cake that I got for the pot luck. There were lots of food and drinks during the office party. There was a packed meal and pasta, pizza, buffalo wings, plus an assortment of delicacies one can imagine. i settled on bringing a cake since there is a nearby cake shop in our office. the people love the cake that I got. Of course, when I got the cake, I took the opportunity to take a phot of the Christmas tree in the mall. Last Thursday, I met up with my friends from a previous company. This is my group of friends that I go on a road trip with every summer. Of course, it has been different the past two years, no road trips and even no get togethers. So I was excited to see them again. We had a lot of drinks and bar chow. We started drinking at 6:00pm and finished at almost 4:00am the next day. To cap it off, we had some beef stew or more popularly known as beef pares here in Manila. First time eating in Pares House Marikina and I must say that it tastes good.
