Woke up to a sponsorship renewal from Talecharm. Thank you dear friend. I'm elated right now. Much appreciation and, plenty more BCH to you and me. Thanks once again. :-)
My Top Five (5) Michael Jackson songs **Saturday, May 7th 2022.** Image https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Jackson_albums_discography Any music lover, wherever they may be, or whatever music genre they're into - Pop, jazz, Blues, Reggae, Hip hop e.t.c.. we can all agree that, at some point, we once sang to the tunes of one of the greatest Artiste the world has ever seen. **MICHAEL JACKSON.** As a child, I enjoyed listening to his greatest hits THRILLER. The whole vibe the music video gave off didn't only spook the living day lights out of me, but each choreographed "*break dancing*" scene (like some of us called it while growing up) made me wanna "*Ooh*!" and "*Ow*!" along with him all day long. He was simply the embodiment of everything ART and Splendour. He will live on as one of the greatest Musicians to ever grace the Earth, that's for sure. Below are a list of my top FIVE (5) favorite songs of the King of POP. 5. STRANGER IN MOSCOW Source https://www.kidamemart.com/stranger-in-moscow-k.html Released in the year 1995. In the Album: HIStory: past, present and future. Book I. It is a no brainier that this makes it to my Top five. However, it was difficult trying to narrow down and pick the ones I treasure the most from all the list. Perhaps, what influenced my decision was because I happened to have played it countless times today. In any case, I'm sure this would make anybody's list too. Anybody who's a stickler to good lyrical contents, I mean. :) 4. EARTH SONG Source https://www.mjworld.net/news/2013/04/30/earth-songs-message-continues/ I remember the first time I heard this song on Dad's old stereo a very long time. I went through the emotions as I thought that this could only be done by the voice of angel. And, that he was. Michael's songs were often met with plaudits for his angelic voice - whether he was on set or off it. You only get to listen whenever he takes the stage, and bask in his wondrously harmonious musical. 3. SMOOTH CRIMINAL Source https://m.imdb.com/title/tt9106768/mediaviewer/rm2984034817 Another piece of Art from the king of Pop himself. Michael Jackson’s song ***“Smooth Criminal,”*** was released as the seventh single from the ***Bad*** album. It broke the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number seven. This one has to be one of the most killer bass lines Michael Jackson has ever written, and the boy did wrote some killer bass lines throughout his career. Talk about a Man who's done endless hours in order to produce awesome music for his fans across the globe. 2. BEAT IT Source https://soundcloud.com/pedrodjdaddyofficial/michael-jackson-beat-it-pedrodjdaddy-2018-remix Released in the year 1982 from his Album ***THIS IS IT.*** A childhood classic for me as well as couple more of my friends. Not only was this one of my favorites ever MJ songs, somehow, I still have the CD Dad kept for us in his stash of old cassettes. I will never forget a song as good as this. 1. THRILLER Source https://www.grammy.com/news/michael-jacksons-thriller-3d-set-premiere As I said earlier, being one of my favorite hits by MJ... Thriller was more than just a song for me, I remember i'd watch the music video countless times especially at night. There were definitely scary scenes in it, but that was what it so fascinating. It was almost like I was watching musical horror movie. (I wonder if there is something like that). Haha NOTE: That ends my list of top Five (5) favorite Michael Jackson songs ever. This is based purely on my opinion. ***Disclaimer: All images used have been cited. This Article is intended for entertainment purpose only.*** Until we read again.

Doing what I can, when I can! Date: Friday, May 6th 2022. Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/silhouette-of-man-on-mountain-top-looking-down-gm472484416-63408449 It is a gloomy day, today. The rain only stopped pattering a few hours ago, and the weather seems clear, and the view from where I'm seated outside my house is just NICE. I had enough sleep. Ate good food. Drank 'nough water..., amongst other things. When i awoke a couple of minutes ago, I read quite a number of Articles. Commented on the ones I can, and up-voted some really nice ones. (I can't believe I almost forgot I had such wonderful writers here). Their work is what gave me what I call, at this point, an idea to do this one for myself. In my not-so recent post, I said something about me being away for days. Well, I had a situation back home. It was quite something. Somehow, I still keep holding on to the belief that "THINGS WILL GET BETTER". They just have to, don't they? Have you ever had a moment when you just aren't sure anymore which way is forward? And, that you've been stuck in an area for a long time with no solution whatsoever comin' to light? It turns out, I was at that point. Maybe, I still am. However, I'm trying my best to doing what I can, when I can. I could do with some little wins right about now. Cos' it'd be a relief! Anyway, the past week hasn't been all doom and gloom. In my absence, I did some reading. I checked out on some old friends. One, in particular, called me at night. At first I was like "Sorry. Who's this?". Then she answered, surprised. Like I've done her the world's greatest injustice. She said "Don't tell me you don't know this is.", But how could I? We haven't spoken in a long time and here I was trying to make out the voice of the person on the other end of the phone acting all kiddish. To cut the long story short, she mentioned her name. I remembered her, and the call ended really awkwardly. So much for me "*doing what I can, when I can".* Hahahaha Here are the number of books I am GOING to read in the Month of May. (Just in case, I'm not spacing out on you guys, and my presence here seems limited. Lol) Just kidding. **1. An Imperial Affliction - Peter Van Houten** One really fascinating thing about this book was that in as much as it was written from a sick person's point of view i.e.., generally, from her perspective of life... The author, as mentioned above, portrayed it in such a way that it'd leave the reader wanting more from it. I hope I am giving off spoilers here. But, that's how I have come to understand it from the book I am now reading. "THE FAULT IN OUR STARS" by JOHN GREEN. Although, I still am in it's Ninth Chapter... However, after reading his other work "LOOKING FOR ALASKA". I make bold to say that he's now become my favorite author. **2. Claire Dewitt and the City of the Dead - Sara Gran** This book makes the second in this list because of it's obvious eerie title. Okay, so there's this group I'm in called the READER'S CIRCLE on my WhatsApp. We read books given each Month and by the end of it we'll converge to drop summaries about it, and answer questions. (I havent been really active there as well, I just pop in only when it's time to get something interesting to read). Lol. I'm lazy like that. Muahahaha. **3. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen** This one makes the last of the list, but what really draws me to the book is that despite it's seeming popularity amongst many young people of any age. I used to feel like it wouldn't live up to the hype. And, frankly I'm still not convinced. Although, I love to satisfy my curiosity. I'm hopeful that this would make a really good read. What do you think? Have you read any of the books mentioned above? If not, you definitely should read 'em. *****Note: I am in no way advertising any of these novels. It is, but, a friendly post about my list of To-dos for the Month of May*********.**** Greetings! Hi guys. So, that ends the post for today. I wasn't sure I was gonna post today, but as you saw how this one went... One thing led to another and there we have it. It's just me ***doing what I can, when I can!*** Thank you for reading. Until we read again.
Haven't been doing much since my last post here. I'm trying my best to keep up with a lot. Sorry guys. Let's see how it goes. Please bear with me.
All the glitters of a fine Night. Date: Wednesday, May 4th 2022. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/W8KTS-mhFUE Alisha always struck me as a loud, boisterous young woman. Her endless enthusiasm for whatever it is that excited her, leaves me starstruck in more ways than I can imagine. There I was trying my hardest to understand her personality, and suddenly like everything that led to this moment was screaming at me, "Yes! Finally, she gets it"... "Let's go to the dance together, Alex!", she said - leaving me trying to figure out what words to say to her next, and how the whole situation escalated really quickly. "W.. what...?!", I asked confused. "Just say you will", she added. "I know you heard me correctly that first time", she deadpanned. Normally, I should be the one asking the million dollar question, but I have somehow found myself on the recieving end of something delivered in the corniest way possible. How did it begin? Okay, let's roll it back a couple of hours before * Lunch time - 12:30 p.m Chip was saying something to me about a girl he encountered some days back, (who I've met, but never was inclined to disclosing any of it to him or, anybody else for that matter). A rule the both of us strictly adhere to whenever we decide to venture in any one of our escapades. Which somehow bothers me now that 1. He made up the rule, 2. He's somehow excited about some random girl he met which, 3. ...has made me interested in whatever it is he has to say. In his words - "a girl so charming, she swept me off my feet". And, knowing him and his knack for NOT getting emotionally involved with girls he's only met for awhile, it was strange. It is almost like he was spellbound by something. (No pun intended). "So, I met this girl, Alisha Johnson. she is the sweetest - ". I got carried by a sudden event that ensued between a group of rascals fighting over some food not served properly. Right there, walking past the whole kerfuffle, was this seemingly cute, brown skinned highschooler with a type of hair *(a buzz cut)* not commonly seen amongst many girls her age. She had a certain vibe about her, one which I didn't notice in our last meet-and-greet encounter. "There she is, Alex", he said. Like I was aloof to the entire situation unravelling right in front of me. "Yeah, yeah... So, what?", I deadpanned. "So... You get up and go meet her", he replied. "Not interested", I snapped. He was obviously confused I shrugged him off in that manner, but I wasn't letting him realise how vulnerable I may've become by allowing myself the pleasure of an impossible meet cute. But, he was in a state of non-compliance with my absurd whining that he motioned enthusiastically towards her, therefore offering her a sit next to me. "Ugh, great! Now you've done it", I said rather disappointed. "I am in no mood to deal with your ridiculously d*ck-ish self at the moment, but why doncha' say hello to the lovely lady sitted right next to you", he answered. "Alisha meet Alex. Alex. Alisha", he gestured. "I know who he is. We've met", she replied. "*Ah! There goes my one opportunity at remaining invincible*", I thought. "Oh, you have? Well, no wonder my man been bitchin' since I mentioned meeting you", he said giving me the stink eye. Talk about an unpleasant story from a not so handsome guy to his not so handsome friend about a charmingly cute, brown skinned highschooler (with a weird buzzcut), who'd not even think of ***getting down*** with our uncool self. ***...to be continued.*** ***Note: This story is a work of fiction, all character names used were also as aforementioned with NO intention of promoting male chauvinism.*** Thank you for reading.
Are we stuck in a "Labyrinth of suffering?". Date: Tuesday, May 3rd 2022. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/mC852jACK1g I'd like to, firstly, start with an apology to my readers, subscribers, commenters and Sponsors. I haven't been active as I usually am here, and it's telling. Going away for FIVE (5) days, well..., I'll say was never my intention. Normally, a person would think I must be having it rough or, perhaps, say I had an issue whilst attending to my fettle. In the end, those line of thought hold a certain amount of Truth. As much as I'd like to talk about what's going on, I prefer not to. However, I remain confident in the hope that things will most definitely get better with time. Back to my first post of the New Month - a question, "*Are we stuck in a Labyrinth of suffering?*!" What is a Labyrinth, really? Image https://unsplash.com/photos/OjrmUvnkMYs The first thing that pops into anybody's mind would be 1. It is a maze-like structure, 2. That, *in* *re* of it's general idea, it could be an underground enclosement. (Of some sort). However, Labyrinth's differ's from the MAZE in the sense that it has a "*winding but, single continuous path which leads to the centre*", and as long as you keep going forward, you get there eventually. There being the **way out of it!** Of course, I don't need to explain what the word *to suffer* means, or suffering for that matter. I actually got my topic from a book I read. It, actually, was reprised from the last words of a certain Man, Simón Bolívar: a former General, liberator and Leader. ***“Damn it, how will I ever get out of this labyrinth!”*** His words exactly! Before he breathed his final breath. Something so striking about it all is if he was actually in a Labyrinth before his death, or he just meant to say that figuratively. That is to say, whether or not, there's a deepen meaning to what that word connotes. Life has struck me as an *"always, repeating loop".* That we instead are birthed into an unending stream of event just for it to repeatedly continue in the same way at random. Little wonder why, the old saying: "**There's nothing new under the sun**!". Perhaps, I should ask you this. *Will there be an end to suffering on Earth?* We might spend a large portion of our time on Earth seeking answers to why somethings be. Maybe some questions just cannot be answered, so it'd seem. I have spend no less than an hour pondering on the topic since I awoke. It is now 4:25 a.m. I have gotten so little sleep, and somehow wondered off to my small world. ****Closing note.**** This Article wasn't intended to spread so much gloom. I'm sure you guys have come to realize my persona. (And, I don't mean this in a negative way). :D But, I'd like to hear your thoughts. What do YOU think? **Greetings** Hi. Oh, my days. My first post after many DAYS. (Is that a pun?). Beats me. :D I have missed this space so much. So many things hashtag., Articles to cover. Especially the hundreds of them stacked on my notifications list. I'll make time to do justice to all of them soonest. Oh! And, Happy Eid my Muslim brothers and Sisters. I trust you're all well in this period? Here are my lovely sponsors. You should check them out when you can. Thank you for sticking with me. Until we read again.

"The Great Perhaps". Date: Wednesday, April 27th 2022. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/9_A6M4puyNc I couldn't bring myself to write yesterday because I was rather awashed with emotions throughout. Remember when I told you guys about the book I was reading, (that should be about a day ago, or something) well, who would've thought that it'd be something so intense. Something particularly struck me in one of those intense moments, a phrase, rather a quote by a once famous writer/scholar/poet Francois Rabelais. His words (which were pretty much his last words) read, "*I go to seek a great perhaps*". I pondered on the reason why such a statement was uttered in his last moments, a Great Perhaps, whatever does that mean? This was gotten from a book I was reading, and it resonated with me. I never would've come across such a statement if I wasn't predisposed to do what I loved doing. The character from whence the word was uttered ~ from the book a teenager, Miles Halter; whose obsession with the last words of famous names on their death beds led to him seeking something beyond just the normal. To him it meant **to gamble it all, for something great, something that he doesn't have, and something here on earth**. A much natural sense for someone who intended to find something other than the normalcy he pictured around him. I, on one hand, could relate to his need for adventure. It was a concept that made him desire an "*unguaranteed greatness*" - in order words, leaving behind a terrifying life of mediocrity for a much greater maybe. In more ways than one, I also hold this concept to be what I'd call "*a true existence*". I always never wanted to lead a life the way my parents saw it, the way I saw people around see the world. Often times, I'd sit on my couch in my room, and peer into my future, and many times I saw an unfulfillment I couldn't bear. It was like, me being stuck in a world eating "boiled eggs and having to go through the same routine of labour continually for fifty, sixty, seventy years till I am no more". It's terrifying! That's what I am most afraid of, to live as though I wasn't. ***Of wasting it as if I had never been.*** That was why it became of much importance to me, how I choose to live in this world of uncertainty. Which reminds me of one of my old quote to Mom once. It read: ***"Let's explore a whole new world together. Burn fires under the night sky, dream into a never-ending paradise, and build a fine sequence of galactic fortune for decades to come."*** And it has been etched into the deep corners of my heart ever since. There's no backing down now. Greetings! Hi, guys. That was an unusually short post from me..., again. Sorry, i hadn't been pretty active on this end. A lot on my hands, really. (You get what I mean?) Lol I'd like to congratulate @Oyinwrites on her first Month-versary on this platform. I don't usually do this, but there's always a first for something, right? Right. To my sponsors, I thank you once again. My commenters, subscribers, big ups to you too. You can check out their awesome contents too. Thank you for sticking with me. Until we read again. Cheers!
Just what I was missing! Date: Monday, April 25th 2022. Images https://unsplash.com/photos/zMRLZh40kms That topic is, in itself, a really weird and out-of-the-box kind of topic. I tend to want to overboard with my writings most of the time, but somehow, I cringe at the knowledge of me being called a *cheeky writer*. Forgive me, I only do that cos' 1. I don't know what Title to give this Article. 2. I'm totally excited now that I'm probably giving off a strange vibe with the way I'm writing, but I guess some writers go through this phase, no? And, 3. I, sort of, had a swell day. Today went exactly as I thought it would the moment I opened my eyes to the "break of dawn". (I wonder if that's a phrase I can use?). I spent all of the previous night thinking of doing a thing or two, and boy was I so glad that I somehow managed to fulfil them. Like when I read no less than 10 Articles - I understand that it's not much but, it's something., then reading a novel titled "Looking for Alaska". I could say that it was pretty much in the offing, that I'd be reading books in that regard. **Thoughts on the book - "Looking for Alaska".** Image https://unsplash.com/photos/v8DSLoY80Xk I must say that the very moment I started reading I held a certain kind of expectation. *"Would it be an extremely boring, and unrelatable one?",* Or "*Would it satisfy the long-starved hunger I had for something exciting?".* In the same manner as the initial line of thought I was still rather fascinated about the "*author of the book -* ***John Greene***", than the book itself. So far, I've been floored by it's engrossing and literary simplicity. Each turn of the page held an air of anticipation. I never wanted to take my eyes off it, (...not until I realised I needed to do the needful for today's post). I just want to finish up and go back to reading. As far as the storyline goes, I'll say it's pretty much top notch. The last time I felt this way was when I read Summer lovin' by Carly Phillips. What's even more brilliant is the fact that it's been adopted into a mini-series. Right now, I'm utterly and totally torn up about either completing the novel BEFORE the seeing the series or, vice versa. However, I wouldn't want a mix up in the story if I were to download and watch, while simultaneously reading the novel, right? Bestie also had a pretty good idea of the movie, and we talked about it for awhile. However, I reminded her not to give off the important details that might kill all the fun out of it. I don't like spoilers. It was strictly a *no-spoilers* convo. I just thought I'd give an update to the latest happenings from my side. I hope you all had as much fun today, too. Thank you for sticking with me. Until we read again. :)

Two Months of "read.cash" Date: Sunday, April 24th 2022. Greetings, and a Happy Sunday to all of my readers. Subscribers, commenters and Sponsors. I am here solely to appreciate, at the same time, celebrate my being here for more than a Month. Two Months, precisely. I can say that my time here on read.cash has been productive. I have met some wonderful people in my short span here. Some of them, have gone on to encourage my work by sponsoring me. I am more than grateful to@Ellawrites, @Talecharm and @MichaelBCH : having you guys on my block has been immense. Talk about the sense of joy and gladness every single time I come here. Reminiscing my first time here The first Impression I had when I joined the community was, "Can I really make Articles consistently, and make an impact here?". I was confused, as I couldn't work my way around. I didn't know what to do. So, I had to constantly ask for guidance from the only person I was familiar with. @Kristofferquincy . He introduced me to read.cash, and it was through him I got to understand the little things - the important things that would really make this new adventure worth my while. When I made my first Article, I wasn't sure how the people here would react to a complete newbie. Not until I was shown how welcoming the users were that I felt more at home. Gradually, I started engaging and making myself known. (Cos' I was told that one way to really make my mark was to constantly engage, and interact with people here). It was a good advice. Although, I wasn't totally committed the first few days I spent here... But, that all changed when I realised how essential it is to be informed. And by that I mean, being intentional and remaining committed to achieving the goals I set for myself by somehow looking up/emulating the works of the existing users here. Trust me when I say, it was swell! What was even striking to me was that by performing our little quota here, i.e., creating interesting Articles and all the whatnots... We could also earn BCH, Bitcoin cash. That alone was pure motivation to carry on. Thank goodness for @TheRandomRewarder . Lol There are a number of people who I greatly admire. I found there work rather fascinating, educative, informative, you name it. A part of me wanted to be like them, but I learnt that I could only be more of who I am if I just stayed true to what I could do. Finding my own niche, so to speak and sticking ever truly on that path. Reading the Articles of @Olasquarehas done me plenty of good as well as others here. His wisdom on certain matters were always inspiring. His, and @meitanteikudo were always my go-to Articles first thing in the morning. At one point, I wanted to understudy Meitan, he struck me as an awesome creator. It felt like he could effortlessly write stories, and make them seem like you were stuck in your "world of fantasy". I was so intrigued. Still am. :D Then, there is @Talecharm. I was usually inspired by her posts, and sometimes I get ideas on what to create as an Article too anytime I read her. I could write an epistle of my time spent here, but it'd be long. Eventually it'll get boring. Nonetheless, the experience was worth it. The knowledge gained, the connections made... Oh, I am grateful. Thank you read.cash! Thank you all that I should've mentioned, but can't. I appreciate you. Here's to many more earnings in BCH. Until we read again. 💐 *****All images from unsplash*****
My Never have I ever: School Edition II Date: Saturday, April 23rd 2022. A couple of days ago I made a post, My Never have I ever: School Edition. It was fun going through all the emotions, nostalgia and all that stuff. Finally we've come to the second and concluding part of the prompt. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/my-never-have-i-ever-school-edition-753cda2c ***You can check out my ever supportive sponsors Articles. Thank you guys for everything. To my readers, commenters and subscribers. You guys are the best***. If you want you could go check out the first part of the prompt. But, right now let's get to it. **Skipped school to do something fun** Yeah... I remember this one time I left home to go to a friend's. He had this PlayStation 2 game at the time. It was on a Friday, so I was not kind of worried about anything at that point. Plus, it was after examination, but students sometimes come to play all sorts of games, some of them go for dance practise while the serious ones help the teachers collate results for the concluded exams. It was usually a fun period. I had fun! **Had a serious Injury at school** Well, now that I think back on this... I have. Okay, so this happened: we were playing a game in class, right? It was during rest period. (This was usually the time students get to cool off after the days unending lecturing). As I remember, an argument ensued between me and this other guy. So, in the heat of it I threw a duster on his face. The next thing I knew everything went dark rather quickly. (You must know what I mean?). Soonafter I opened my eyes in the Headmaster's office, recieving treatment on my already cut brows. The culprit got a whooping and suspension. I heard news afterwards that most of the students thought I had died. Can you imagine that?! It was a memorable experience. **Enjoyed Studying** Honestly, I never enjoyed Studying. Every moment was like torture, especially when I prepared for the external exams. Arrgh! I was like, "is there no end to all of the reading?!". Lol. **Hit someone hard** No. I haven't done that. I was at recieving end more than once thought. See why I hate bullies? :D **Played a Prank** I can't remember if I did anything like that, either. **Stuck a funny note on someone's back** Lol. No. I saw that done a number of times to the other students, but never to me. Perhaps, they were scared of me. Who knows? **Impress someone who disliked me** No. I have never done that, too. **Acted cool to get attention** Have I, now? Yes. Who wouldn't, really? I wanted to get the girls to notice me. I must tell you though, it never worked. :( **Stolen someone's lunch** No. **Taken part In a school play** I acted in a number of plays, once as King Solomon. The other time as a Father to a wayward child. I prefer to not speak of the last one. Lol. **Won In Sports** My class never did win any competition we played in. It happens. **Gone on a field trip** Nope. I never went on any field trip as a student. That part wasn't on the school's to-dos it would seem. :( **Had a water fight** Nope. No water fights, either. (What are we children!?). :D **Threw ink at someone** No. **Sent a love note.** Lol. Lol. Lol. Yes. I did send a love note to someone. A girl. (No funny thoughts, okay?). I actually didn't do it myself. I had to send a friend of mine to help me slip it in her bag when she wasn't looking. Although my gullible self didn't realise she'd figure out my handwriting, cos' I gave most of notes to most of them in class. And sometimes I write out on the board for some lazy teachers. Our relationship became awkward after that. Although we remain good friends now. Smiles. Greetings! Hello, everyone. That concludes my school edition of Never have I ever. Fun, isn't it? Well, I'll go do something useful now. Thank you for sticking with me. Until we read again. 💐
"Is there always a light at the end of the tunnel?" Date: Friday, April 22nd 2022 I woke up a few minutes ago, and I can't shake the sad feeling that has come to stay with me. It's not like I had any thought prior to the time I slept last night, but someway, somehow I feel disheartened. I know it's a new day and I shouldn't be starting it with negative thoughts. It's wrong to do this, especially when I'm spreading the negativity here, on this space. Well, I'll just go ahead and say what I have to say. Before I slept last night - which was around past twelve, (I know. I know. It was way past my bedtime) after discussing with a number of members of the group on Whatsapp. I plugged my device to a power bank to recharge, so I thought "*considering the number of hours my phone takes to recharge I'll just set the schedule power off time to the next five hours*". Now, that was me thinking that my phone would be fully charged by the time I wake up and by that time i would give the power bank to Dad to help recharge it at work because the light here isn't stable. Sadly, when I awoke five hours later I saw that the phone only had 56% on it. Arrgh! You can imagine my reaction then. I was furious! I couldn't take in the fact that it charged really slow. I thought about smashing the phone on the floor, but I couldn't. Hell, it'll take me a long time to get a new one, no? (Although, I still smacked the living daylights out of it). Lol! ***Don't quote me***. I am using the phone right now, and it's already at 44%. I can't believe how weak the battery already is. Horrible! A couple of days ago, I ***rambled*** about how the country's economy - Nigeria, has steeped further into uncertainty and damage in one of my post. ***Facing our Reality***. (This is what I think, anybody else is entitled to their own opinion). A lot of people talk about how we must remain optimistic in our trying times in order to raise a "*flag of determination*" so we can all steer the country towards a better place. How about they be realistic instead. Things are getting worse everyday. People are barely pushing through. It's almost impossible to find something to eat these days. It's gotten so bad, that I wonder if there'll be a light at the end of the tunnel. We cannot continue like this. How can we proffer solution to the Mammoth of problems facing us? How can the whole... Arrgh! There I go again thinking too much and rambling. Now my head hurts. I always have this sharp pain on the left side of my head anytime I think. I should get that checked, but that'll require spending wouldn't it? ...and seeing that the country is so messed up right now, I cannot even trust that the hospital I'll be going to will be giving me a proper diagnosis. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/facing-our-reality-1df7f4ca *****P.S Don't get me wrong, I say this not that I have an ongoing medical situation or, anything. I only said that because I have NEVER ACTUALLY done a check-up in any hospital due to a distrust in their organisation. The utter incompetence is astounding. But, that's where we are as a country, aren't we?***** I appreciate my sponsors for supporting me. You guys are the real MVPs. Thank you my subscribers and commenters too. Y'all aren't left out. Like someone close to me would say, "Stay Moist!". Greetings! Hey, guys. I apologise for boring you with another of my few ramblings. (It's just a few cos' I don't really ramble on about stuff). But, I couldn't help doing this one. I hope you guys are having a worry-free morning unlike me and looking forward to a stress-free weekend. Well, minus the guys that work during that time. Lol Thank you for sticking with me. Until we read again. 💐✌️
My Never have I Ever: School Edition. Date: Thursday, April 21st 2022. Here's something I got excited over. It's more like a prompt, but at the same time, not. Still you can decide to make of it what you will. I saw it, I liked it and I jumped into it. Honestly, I was trying to figure out what to write today before I came across this. Lol. Don't mind me. That's just how we role.(...not in a manner of speaking though). Muahaha! Without further ado, let's get to it then. ****Skipped a Class**** Well, I'd like to think that at some point anybody can skip any class. Right? I mean, it could be for reasons that were justified at the time. However, if this directly talks about having a motive to decide against attending a lecture or class (I'm this case), then I'll say yeah. I have skipped a class before. The reason for me doing that was something I'd rather not talk about. Lol ****Cheated on an Exam**** Yes. I have cheated in an Exam. But, first you have to define what you call cheating, right? Cos' these days even a mere *dobbing* is enough to make you stand for thirty whole minutes In an examination hall. Hehehe ****Forged my Parents signature**** Nah! Never done that. Although, I was always keen to master any signature that I found cool. Especially the one of my teachers but, somehow I never seemed to get them right. ****Bullied anyone at school**** Bully? Wow. I hate bullies. I haven't liked anyone who derives fun from causing harm to anybody. In school, I wasn't exactly the target of bullying. I was this reserved person, who always minded his business anytime. Plus, I am kindhearted and adorable. I wouldn't dream of bullying anybody. ****Been suspended from school**** Wait... Have I? Hmm... I'm not sure I remember. Who knows I must've done something horribly wrong that warrants me getting suspended for two weeks and I cannot remember, right? Wrong! I was just messing with ya. 😁😂 ****Been in the bottom three of my class**** Nope. I have not been in the bottom three. I was always pinning at the top five's but, those guys just never gave up their positions. Damn! Perhaps, its because those things never really freaked me out. I wasn't the brightest but i sure was capable at the few things/subjects I knew or could do. ****Hit someone with chalk**** I remember as younglings we would play around with guns that uses stones as bullets, and then play *police and thief* with them. So that sort of transitioned into the use of tiny chalks cos' we figured the stones were really painful when they hit us. So, yeah... I have hit someone with a chalk. Lol ****Make fake excuses for being late**** I was always late. Although, most of the time I escaped the queries that come after. I just didn't learn. By the time I was made the head prefect it got worse. I don't wanna get started on the whole story cos' we'd be here a long time. Trust me I'm not making any of this up. I'm being as brutally honest as I can be here. Cross my heart. LMAO 😂😂 ****Been Home Schooled**** Nope. I was never home schooled. Although, I attended extra lessons at school in order to keep the grades up. But that was just for a couple of months before I sat for my WASSCE. ****Had a crush on someone in my class**** I've had many crushes especially the ones in my class. I never told them though. I was a shy dude. Still am. (...I'm working on it btw). After I finished Senior high, I decided to ell one of them how I felt but... You know? I was sent into the zone. (You get me, right). ****Played in a sport's team**** Hell, yeah. I played football. I was pretty good at it too. There was this competition we had once where we were to play with our seniors. I cannot forget that day. We got a resounding whooping. Lol. I was removed after the first half, (It wasn't a 90 minutes game), because of my lack of athleticism. I'm not saying we got whopped because I was taking off, just that if I had remained we would have won. 😂😂 ****Been the Monitor or Prefect**** This would probably be the last one for today, and yes. I was a prefect. The head prefect, in fact. I enjoyed my tenure. I was the most talked about person in school, even in my extremely reserved state. I still don't get it, though. Even now, I get teased by my old classmates of how popular I was with the girls. I'd love to leave out the juicy details of whatever was said. However, the strangest thing was, I never knew these so called girls. Were they ghosts? Blimey! Off the top of my head, right? Lol! ***...to be continued***. Greetings! Hi everyone. I got this prompt when I read @meitanteikudo's Article. I saw it and I was like, "this seems fun, I wanna join in!". And there you have it. I've done mine. You enjoyed it, didn't ya? Right. I know you did. Lol. I hope it wouldn't be a bother to whoever brought it up, cos' it seemed like Meitan didn't. That's why I dropped like a request on his post. Just in case. Until we read again guys. Thank you for sticking with me. ✌️💐
Facing our Reality Image https://unsplash.com/photos/IwHtZIVYrXE Date: Wednesday, April 20th 2022. I spend a lot of my time thinking, wondering how I am supposed to go by anything I plan to do. Sometimes in my many engagements with people I always tend to drift towards a knowledge of what has happened in the past. Many things usually run through my mind in those moments. Now I don't know if that happens to other people or, maybe I'm just built differently. Yesterday, I was in a company of adults (I say yesterday because it's already midnight), and they got talking about how the country was once a better place to live in. They compared the current administration with the ones we had in the past and although I got to be inundated with informations I hadn't known prior to the time, I must say that perhaps they have judged the current state of things too harshly. *(Is that the right word to use?)*. I have never been interested in anything politics or, have I tried in the past to be involved with the tussle that abound in regards to the affairs of the government. The things I know now were either discovered in my reflective moments or, taught to me by someone who holds a higher knowledge. Whether through books, by teachers in the school I've been at or, anywhere at all; what matters is that I remain obliged to them and that the knowledge I have gained wouldn't be distorted in a latter time. Everybody knows about the historical rigours of the country they live in and how they transitioned into what they are now whether they want to admit it or not. The elders of our time would give accounts of how things were meaty and juicy decades ago, they would talk of the times when situations were far better than it is now and so many of us wonder what went wrong. It is a sickening fact that we are farther now from our promised El Dorado than we ever were. Things cannot go back to the way it was. It's sad. But, we have to face it. It's tiring how I hear of one commodity that was say..., #1 has skyrocketed to being #50. Most of the times i feel this awful pit in my stomach like, damn how far we've fallen! But that's the reality we live in. Election is around the corner and a lot of guys out there have started raising the banners of their preferred candidate for the presidential seat. I don't usually get why they are all enthusiastic about it considering our past failures of choosing "the right person". But is there really a right person for the job? We'd never know who has the right motive, or the drive to steer the country to a better place. One thing is certain thoug, with all that's happened and will happen, the ones that actually have a plan for themselves would break out of the status quo. That's how I see it. Greetings! Hi, guys. Don't mind me rambling on about how pathetic things are currently. Cos' truly it's gotten to the point where just about anybody would settle for whoever takes the mantle of leadership. I'm not saying people aren't free to decide what they want or who they want to lead them, but thinking about things more critically would go a long way. Oh well, time to go about my normal business of the day. Until we read again, guys. Thank you for sticking with me. 💐✌️
One reason only, I Image https://www.istockphoto.com/vector/human-help-anxiety-person-in-depression-and-supporting-hand-confused-man-sitting-on-gm1292993408-387593424 Date: Monday, April 18th 2022. *"Hi Sam. I'm sorry I couldn't write you all this time. I have been busy. It hasn't been easy moving to a new country. I wish you were here. Dad's been up and about trying to secure deals with his business associates, leaving me alone with Jenny, Billy and Nurse Annie. You know, Billy's not been himself too lately. I guess dogs usually feel the same way as the owner in the times spent together. I hope you get your Visa processed soon. I'm gradually beginning to loose my shit here. All the more reason why you should come. Anyway, until I write you again. Xoxo".* I finished typing the not-so-satisfying message, and perused through every word. I should've written more, but who was I kidding. I have spent many years with Sam, she has always been understanding. Lying to her now wouldn't do us both any good. The sheer thought of my ongoing predicament was enough to make me loose my sanity. I couldn't speak of my troubles with little Jenny. How could I? She wouldn't understand a word, would she? I only have Nurse Annie and good ol' Billy with me. If only Dad wasn't so busy with his work, maybe we would be able to spend quality time together. *"It's dusk already",* I said. I hadn't gotten no more than a couple of feet away from the door when i felt a sharp pain on the left side of my head. It was like I was pounded with a hammer. Nurse Annie had already gone out to refill her First-Aid box at the hospital. It was just me, Billy and Jenny alone in my Dad's gigantic house. *(Or, so I thought).* At this point, the pain only got worse. In an attempt, to struggle down the stairway I stumbled over hitting my head on the tiled floor. Nurse Annie walked in with Billy moments later. She had left Jenny asleep in the sitting room. She must've decided to step out for a bit whilst taking the rest of her things from the hospital. Since Mom left a couple of weeks ago and before the sudden change of environment, she had stayed and cared for little Jenny like she were her own. I mostly make life difficult for her, regardless she always seemed to understand what I wanted more than I could fathom. I never believed in a guardian angel, but observing her made me question whatever belief I once had. *"I hope I didn't stay out too long".* *"Nick hasn't left his room for a while, I should probably go check on him",* said Nurse Annie. She immediately noticed a body laying on the floor with Billy whining frantically. She rushed towards the direction of the person, confused. It was beyond understanding how everything played out so fast, from leaving the house in the space of a quick hour to being greeted with an horrendous sight from a terror movie. She was distraught but, she wasn't about to let her emotions get the better of her. However, if she was to summon courage to perform her medical duties there wasn't a better time to react than that moment. ***...to be continued.*** Greetings! Hi, everyone. Happy Easter Monday. I hope you all enjoyed your day? Please don't ask me cos'mine didn't go as planned. ****Sighs**** Anyway, I wanted to shake things up a bit by doing this. Yes, that! It wasn't like anything I planned to do before time. It just sort of flowed out. Lol. I hope you guys like it. Tell me what you think in the comment section. Thank you for sticking with me. Until we read again... ✌️💐
Childhood dreams - a prompt. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/Ba6IlmAzl-k Date: Sunday, April 17th 2022. This is an Article that I want to make in response to a prompt by @Deeepensiverse . I understand that many of you guys would want to jump in on this, however, if you don't want to that's completely okay. I'm only doing this because it's fun. Before I start I'd like to appreciate my sponsors. I will be acknowledging you guys in all of my posts. (Not forgetting my readers, and commenters too). Shall we, then? When I was little I thought dreams were meant to come to pass - to be fulfilled, if you will. Don't get me wrong I still do. But, then it was channeled towards getting to be something at all costs disregarding the other - education. I wanted so bad to be a soccer player, a professional soccer player. I said this in my introductory post a couple of weeks ago. But, there's no harm in repeating it, right? In a way, it wasn't a particularly harmful goal. I was going to try to find a balance between the two. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. Now that I think back on it, I kind of feel disappointed at myself for not giving my hundred percent doing what I loved. I'd often play street football with my friends even when Dad never liked me to. He always wanted me to be something else outside just playing soccer. Perhaps, he was worried I'd cause myself harm if I did. (Like get a broken leg, for example...) Lol Here's something I picked as I grew older. It's not all of our dreams as a child that will be actualised. We'd find that as time passed we somehow drifted to a completely different path from the ones we laid out as a kid or rather we find a different passion - something we come to love, that wasn't even in our list of to-dos many years ago. Life acts funny that way, don't you think? It's completely normal. As for the other things that I wanted to become over time, Modelling was one of them. I even volunteered for a fashion contest at school once. I cannot remember what exactly happened, but I guess I bottled my winning prospects. It wasn't a fond memory. Perhaps, I lost because my looks weren't as attractive then, as it is now. (Oh and yeah, I am an attractive guy). Even if Modelling isn't wholly about looks, and attractiveness. Although, I was like say..., Six or seven back then. I obviously thought like a child. Laughs! When I turned twelve I decided to be an Architect. There's a whole story on this matter because I wasn't the one who noticed I had an aptitude for it. Turned out I had a knack for technical drawings and the whatnots. But, Alas! It was all short-lived when I opted for a different course at the University. Well, there you have it guys. That much sums up all of my childhood dreams. I was embarrassed when I talked about my Modelling aspirations, though. How silly of me! Lol Greetings! Hi. Happy Easter Sunday, everyone. It's pretty late, I know. I apologise. I slept like a child after attending service at church. Aterwards I went to see a football match between my beloved Chelsea, and we won. Smiles. I want to use this opportunity to thank @FarmGirl for wishing me a quick recovery. I'm sorry I couldn't reply your messages earlier. Also, @Ellawrites , thank you too. For all that you've done really. I'm getting all teary here. Lol. I think you're actually growing on me. And the rest of you guys, I'm grateful. The fever's gone, and I am feeling great. It's an Easter Sunday Miracle, it would seem. :-() Anyway, if you enjoyed the post why don't you make your own - CHILDHOOD DREAMS. I think you should. @Deeepensiverse started the prompt, (I guess). Do not forget to tag her to it. Also, I'd like to read too. I'd appreciate if you tagged me. Thank you guys for sticking with me. Until we read again. 💐✌️
What it means to ask. Date: Friday, April 15th 2022. Before I start this post, I wanted to say I had one of the longest sleep in a while. It may be due to the fact that i am still recovering from a two days fever. (I call it two days cos' I've been struck with a mild fever since Wednesday). The weather is still at the moment, and the sky has never been brighter than it is now. If only you guys could see it. Happy Good Friday to all of my wonderful readers, subscribers and awesome sponsors. I am grateful to have each one of you. Without further ado I'll begin my article for today. First I'd like to define what "to Ask" means. I know we all know what it entails since we've all been a student. However, I'd like reiterate it if you wouldn't mind. I saw a need to do this after being consistently disappointed by the ignorance of a set of persons some days ago as well as in the far past. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/cYRMl1HeuVo ***To Ask - means to require permission to do or say something.*** I think we can all agree that the definition above does justice to what *"asking"* really means. If yes, well I'd like to go on. I also believe that it is only polite to ask for something when you are aware the *thing* in question doesn't belong to you. But, do people still realise this? I mean, I understand that you may have friends, family, a neighbour, a colleague or even a stranger come to your home for a visit and then they feel like they are entitled to ALL or any of your possession. You cannot exactly throw them out or tell them off your property, or belongings, right? So, in this case by taking note of their insensitivity and knowing that we have been disrespected, we politely tell them not to repeat such mannerisms again. Take for example, an old friend comes to visit and in the grandest of your hospitality you allow them in. So this person just storms to your fridge and takes a couple of your favorite wine or juice and comfortably drinks the whole bottle. You would definitely be shocked, wouldn't you? Completely understandable. (I mean, without barring the whole ***mi casa su casa*** pleasantries and the whatnots), however, it now depends on what you tell this person or how you act after seeing how they have behaved. People tend to take for granted the accessibility they have to you. Like they say, familiarity breeds contempt. Meaning - ***the extensive knowledge of or close association with someone or something leads to a loss of respect for them or it. (According to Google).*** It is completely natural to have people close to you be given the freedom to feel at home around you. But, sometimes... When the situation calls for it they should also be able to respect your boundaries. When they do this, it shows how **trustworthy, and how respectful a person they really are**. It in turn brings people closer together, that's how a healthy relationship between grown ups should be. Have you had moments when you experienced similar cases as the one mentioned above? (Not to be spiteful or anything). But tell me what you think. Greetings! Hi. Happy Good Friday again, guys. How are you all doing? I think I have fulfilled my quota by doing this today. I wasn't able to write at all yesterday and I hope the fever doesn't hold me down any longer. Thank you reading. Until we read again. ✌️💐
Believing in Hope, Against Hope. Date: Wednesday, April 13th 2022. At the last I, finally, decided to write something today. Cos' in truth I was not motivated to do anything at all. It is late now. I have been stuck in bed all day wondering how I'd make an outline for a book I wanna write. For long moments I was like, ***"Can I live to the expectations I set for myself?".*** Weird, right? I know. It's become a habit for me. I always question my own potential. I, even, went as far as thinking whether people are actually born lucky. I mean, there are people in this world who are born into all the riches and luxuries beyond any of my wildest dreams. But regardless, I try to see myself measuring up to them someday, and the challenges I'll have to overcome. Still, I can't help but come to the conclusion that it's so not going to be easy. Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/arrested-man-with-handcuffs-gm851502832-140449913 Big brother said to me once, ***"Life isn't fair!".*** Being the first child comes with a lot of responsibility. There'll come a time (and, I'm afraid it has already), when I begin to cater for my siblings. I mean, of course... When you have younger siblings whether you're the first child or the second or third... You'll feel like you've been automatically burdened with a responsibility! (Pardon me if I used the word - "burdened"). This is how I'm feeling right now. If I'm to look at how things are going in the country recently. It's even more discouraging. It takes a million effort to be able to overcome the hardships staring us in the face, and honestly, it's terrifying! I feel like i have this responsibility to be selfless. (Not that i've been selfish all my life, Lol. I can't believe I'm laughing with this headache). It's just like I have gotten to a stage where I cannot think of myself anymore. I don't know why I'm telling this here, cos' it is hugely - immensely, personal. It has never been easy for me expressing how I feel to anybody. I feel like I'm pressured to go he extra mile. Not that anybody told me to, or anything. Still, without them saying it... I know I must! Am I hopeful that I can become any of the things I have dreamed about? I'm not sure. I do not even know if hardwork would get me there. Or, perhaps my firm determination and gutsiness to never give up. But, I must keep at it. Like something someone said once, "I have seen Men who endure bitter hardships and hard work amount to nothing, however I have NEVER known Men who achieve their dream not be hardworking!". ***~~Paraphrased~~*** This post may strike you as odd, or inconsequential as I am merely just rambling. Regardless, it is why I had to write it out. I simply cannot keep it in any longer. Spending hours of thinking one particular angle is definitely no joke. I still have to do what I intend to even with all the unfavorable circumstances I'll be facing. In the end ***"To dare is to do"***; is it not? Greetings! Hi. I apologise if you find this post of little importance. It's just one of those days for me. I have this persistent headache and I'd like to rest my head now. I hope I wake up better tomorrow than I was today. Here are my previous articles; especially short stories, that'll surely pique your interest. If you want to engage them. The city life's stress Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/street-crowd-gm475306584-65261629 Date: Tuesday, April 12th 2022. A little while ago, I arrived from the market with my big brother. It was not a very wholesome experience but, the fun thing was that I got to see things more differently now. It was amazing to see people from different places converge in a spot. I mean, how can there have been so many people gathered in one place. I just stood there in awe of the many hustles i saw around me. My brother motioned to me to stay close, and then he said "...this is one of the busiest place in Lagos!". Wow! Our business there was to gather supplies in order to stuff his new apartment. KetuMile12 (the name of the market we found ourselves in), was hectic and at the same time I sort of learnt a thing or two from tagging along with him. Some of you guys mayn't know where it is. I'm sorry. I can only help by saying it's not a place you should be going to if you don't want body aches and knee pains. (The pros is, you'll get whatever it is you want ranging from foods and groceries, tools and equipment for almost anything, you name it. As for the Cons well, you'll have to hit the bodies of passerbys and road workers on a spin). Lol Now I understand how things work in the big city, Lagos. In anywhere in the world, really. People spend most of their time working the hours, and trying to make a living. From the looks of it, it doesn't seem easy. Hell, it's never easy. I thought, "How can these many people be able to get their Months payment without being underpaid?". Cos' the truth is people often do more than they are actually paid. That was a moment for me. My reflective moment. If one is to live a life of comfort in this country he would require the help of a higher power. In this case - The Almighty. Cos' how do you live for a month on 30 thousand Nigerian Naira. (Approx. 53$, or thereabout). It is simply not easy. I got home a while ago, and although it was a somewhat memorable I can't help but think that I must've done in my knees while trying to get into the bus. They ache now. I need to rest. I'm tired. I should've written something on a different subject entirely knowing that I outdid myself today, but it can't be helped. That's why I wanted to drop my entry for yesterday/today. Oh, and yes... It's past midnight. Can you imagine? How time flies. Literally! It was dark before I knew what happened. I wasn't even able to engage as I was supposed to. So, much still to do. City stress is so not for me. Greetings! Hi, guys. This is just an entry for today. I have a knee pain. It got hit, but it should heal in a couple of hours. Nobody told me city stress would be dangerously hectic. Anyway, I hope you guys are good. And having a blast of a week. Until we read again. Thank you for sticking with me. ✌️💐
Woke up to a new sponsor today. I'm thankful for your support friend. I pray for more BCH. @MichaelBCH Appreciate you. 🙌😊
"Were his efforts wasted?" Image https://www.istockphoto.com/vector/businessman-fell-asleep-next-to-the-clock-gm1025170228-275033225 Date: Sunday, April 10th 2022. *"What do you do when you feel like the world's weight lays heavily on your shoulders? How do you carry on despite the difficulties? Could it be that in the very depths of your heart all you want is for someone to listen? Is there always a light at the end of the tunnel!?* *I apologise. I was carried away by the wave of my own thoughts. Have you had moments like that too? Where you just let all of your feelings flow? And, everything just seems to be still and empty. In the midst of the gloom, where else do you find solace? People often say, "when you hit your lowest point you're open to the greatest change". I have remained resolute all this while, but now my heart is weary. I have searched myself. If I had gone wrong, somewhere, anywhere, please tell me. I have done myself the greatest evil by trusting in Men. Knowing this, would you still believe in the very ones that sought to bring about your demise? ".* Stephen's words broke my heart. He said all of that on the phone, but all I could do was listen. I couldn't bring myself to utter a word. He was distraught. His family had forsaken him. His long time friends had abandoned him and, all of that after his effort to make for them a better world. They casted aspersions on his personality - a defamation of reputation or character assassination, like some would like to call it. It was heartbreaking. His story was one that inspired many of his friends to believe in a future El Dorado. How could they? Every single one turned their backs on him at the time when he needed them the most. They forgot how he helped bring them into the light, instead they chose to go the way of the wicked. It was not a long time coming. Nothing, in the slightest, showed signs of an upturn of events. This is the life of a Man who was simply done unjustly. There is no better way to put it than this. If he were to live in another life. He would live a circumspect, and prudent one free from the ills of wicked and unreasonable Men. He must've laid impoverished and depleted of health on his bed on that day cursing the day he arrived into the house of the Gilberts. His own people had rejected him. A man of right standing whose only dream was to create a life fitting for himself and the people around him. But, in no time they conspired and plotted against him*. "Oh! How he must've cursed the wickedness in the hearts of Men".* If anyone deserved eternal punishment it would be us. We let the enemy live in our midst and therefore, allowed him bewitch our minds with a lie from the pit of hell. A lie that costs us a savior. A lie meant to set us against his integrity and Goodwill. We only failed to realise this until the very end. *"Look how things have turned out!",* wailed the head of the family. *"Never again will we let strife and hate into our midst!",* Stephen's Mother added. There we stood atop his already covered grave. An unbearable silence followed except for the fact that we were already soaked in the pouring rain. It was as if the whole family were drenched with Stephen's tears. Meanwhile the priest was saying a prayer after the usual procession but, when the time came. He revealed to the public Stephen's last words. Tears rolled down the eyes of every single person that faithful day. It was more than we could handle. We could've been brandished his killers. But, Alas! We were let off. Stephen's word struck deep into the minds of each one of us that we could barely say a word in the end. How tragic! Even in death, and against all reason, we were pardoned. When all was said and done, i couldn't help but think if his struggles were wasted at the very last. Greetings! Hi. Happy Sunday guys. Throughout today I couldn't think of what to do. I couldn't write and in the midst of my distress I thought this up. It's more like a prompt and really out of the ordinary but I hope you are able to read through the lines and in the end, enjoy them. Have yourself a good night rest now. Cos' I hope to have one. Until we read again. Thank you for sticking with me. 💐✌️
Bad at Love, Finale. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/NYrVisodQ2M Title: Friday night's party, Finale. Date: April 9th Saturday, 2022 Author: VinceCharlie✓ And so the said day arrived. I was all clumsy and confused about what to wear. But, most of all I was worried my date wouldn't like what I picked for our first dance. I thought up different ways the whole thing could go. Sadly, nothing positive came out of all the thinking. I was sure it was going to be a total ruin of a night. "Oh, Eric. I hope whatever you're planning works!". ****Beep, beep**** It rang 6:00 p.m. I became more frantic and wished I had help picking out the clothes. Fortunately, Eric banged the door to my room. "Urgh! Finally, my life saver". How I knew he was the one on the other side was beyond my reasoning, but nonetheless i was glad he showed up. "Help me pick the perfect one to match. I can't sort myself out at the moment", I pleaded. "Uh... That'll do!", he said pointing to the stripped blue shirt hanging on my right arm. "Thanks. I had a feeling that this would fit but, I wasn't sure of it", I replied. My clumsy, reckless self had calmed a little. At least, until Mia called. She was ready. I was shocked. I didn't realise any girl would be early for occasions such as this. Besides, I never imagined she was such a party person. Well, the days spent apart must have caused a change I didn't foresee. That happened, and I have to come to terms with it. She went in whilst walking so elegantly into the living room. Her beauty was enough to leave me utterly speechless. Eric's faint whistle just behind me said it all. He was never close friends with Mia but, the little they knew of each other were enough to keep them on speaking terms. Especially when I'm the person of interest in any of their conversations. "Alright. Let's get a move on then. Or, else we'd be late", I beckoned. "Wait a minute!". There it was, the moment I have been expecting. Up till this point it was a no brainier that everything had been planned perfectly by Eric. His subtle attempt to keep his intentions unknown were more than obvious. Well, to me of course. "I called Rick and Bella. They should be here any minute!", he continued. "What!". Now, this I wasn't expecting. "Why the bloody hell would he call both of them. He's gone and done it this time". The two lovebirds were always on my bad side in school - always picking on me when they had the slightest chance, placing placards of things I said in class on my locker..., e.t.c. There were quite a lot of other embarrassing moments like those. At one point I wasn't sure i could call them my friends. Sure we grew up in the same ol' neighborhood but, they shouldn't be invading my privacy when they feel like it. Especially now on this fantastic night. Right then and there I cursed my luck. "Hey, people!", they shouted. "Hi, R and B", I answered. They were a thorn in my flesh. It's only natural I gave them names that fit considering they are always together. Makes me wonder if they sleep on the same bed when they live in separate homes. After the unenthusiastic greetings from me. We drove in R and B's car to the school party. It was something the school thought of to prepare the participants for the upcoming competition. We arrived and to my surprise there were more couples attending the party than I had thought. "Are they even from our school?", I wondered. Well, it wasn't my concern really. Cos' now I've got a chance to finally tell the girl of my dreams how I felt. We walked in from the main entrance to the dance hall. Eric had already found himself a date, kylie Friers. We didn't speak much of his date back home. So, there's a talk we'd both be having when all is done and completed. Minutes into the start an Ed Sheeran classic played on the stereo. It softened the mood in the hall and, the guys held onto their dates whilst enjoying the soothing music. "It's a great song", she said. "It's one of my favorites". "I don't listen to Ed. But, I think I like this one", I replied. All the while our bodies moved to he rhythm of the song, her eyes met constantly with mine. My already beating heart was pounding so fast it felt like it was overjoyed. She brushed her face against my shoulders. Her warmth and tenderness was rubbing off on me. I could smell the freshness of the perfume she wore. Her cheek already flushed with red and pink made me blush myself. I realised beyond doubt what a beautiful girl she was as I held her waist gently with my hands. "If only I could steal a kiss", I thought. Then came the ice breaker. "I have always liked you, Vic", she said. Her words interrupted my thoughts. It was something I was dying to hear. I could've said the same but, i often fail to. However, I didn't understand. Why now? Did she decided to say this from the outset? Perhaps, I was the one who didn't give her a chance to all this time. I have always been bad at loving. Especially, since Dad's death. His was the totality of all things compassion and warmth. If only I had more time with him. However, Mia was the only person that could have filled the empty space that he left. Her departure left me afterwards left me distraught, but when she came back, it was like I was given a new found hope. A chance to live and love. That was what I was missing, and I hoped with the whole of my heart that Mom would feel the same way I did at that moment. With emotions running high, and Mia's gaze enveloping the entirety of my being... "I always have also, Mia", I replied. It didn't matter what words i wanted to add to it. We were having a moment. And in that moment, I was sure our hearts agreed and we decided to let out what we felt. As if the whole room became empty in the background, and the lights grew dimmer with each passing second. We kissed. A passionate end to a gloomy start! Greetings! Hello, everyone. It's way past midnight at exactly 2:10 a.m. I intentionally stayed awake in order to finish this up. Aww, shucks! 🤭 A few minutes ago I got notified of a new sponsor. Thank you so much @Ellawrites, for your sponsorship. I pray for more BCH to you. :D
My number 1 fan. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/e12EkMYv44U Date: Friday, April 8th 2022. I was having a conversation with a female bestie of mine last night. We talked about my plans to create something. I showed her a little of it, and she commended my awesome talent. She does that a lot anytime I reveal one of my works to her. And most the time I become elated. I felt a mix of emotions, especially the feeling of heartwarming gratification. I thought of how lucky I was to have someone like her in my life. Strange to think that even as I write I still am very emotional. Don't think that because I'm a guy I'm not allowed to speak of my emotions. That staying strong, in this or any regard, is what makes a real man. But, no. I cannot subscribe to that notion. Sometimes, you just have to show the people you trust how you really feel. (That's what I think). Like I was saying, I have always been grateful to have her in my life. I can count the number of people who are genuinely interested in my growth and success in life. Most people I relate with may not share the same ideals as I, or they may somewhat be secretly wishing me ill-luck behind my back. It's no bother. I have come to understand that not many people will be on the same page as you. Not many of them will wholeheartedly wish you the best or, wish you success in whatever you choose to do. (Sometimes, I wonder why people do that), but here's the gist, that's life. Just recently, I heard about a popular singer - a Nigerian, who shared his disbelief on social media about how his fellow artists in the Music industry failed to congratulate him after featuring in a recently released World cup theme song at Qatar this year. It didn't matter if he was, or still is one of the best artiste in the world currently. His achievements speaks for itself. He has done quite a lot for himself deserving lots of applause. Maybe that is why some people don't like him as a person. Well, we may never truly know what runs in the minds of people. We face a lot of adversities in life. True. But, how we negate through them matters. In time when we find people who are genuinely supportive of our dreams for the future, we become encouraged to be more and do more for ourselves as well as others. That's the beauty we should focus on more than anything. The beauty of a better tomorrow, for a better version of ourselves! My time spent here has brought me to the realization that the guys I have engaged with (we would be here a while if I mention names), have contributed to my growth as a person - though their Articles, and as a writer. Your words of encouragement have shaped me, and I have become a part of this growing community in the short time I have been here. I'd like to thank @Talecharm for supporting me yet again. I wouldn't be forgetting @TheRandomRewarder - who's been a major help since I joined this space. Ah, and to my awesome readers and commenters, I appreciate you. My subscribers too aren't left out. Like they say***, "you guys are the real MVPs";*** and my number 1 fans. Bestie (you may not see this, but I love you). I mayn't have many female friends around ****(excl. you guys here),**** thank you for being that fantastic friend that you always are and forever will be. I wouldn't wanna forget my Mentor too. Big sis, Big Bro, I love you plenty. Greetings! Hi, again. That aritcle was something done out of appreciation to all the guys I have come to know in the real world as well as virtually. It's been an awesome journey. I'd like to wholeheartedly thank you. ***P.S*** : ***Just recently I started thinking of sponsoring one or two people for this month. It's been on my mind for a while now... But just this month. I wanna see how things pan out in the remaining days and then decide what to do afterwards***. Thank you for sticking with me. A Mischief too many, II Image https://unsplash.com/photos/jX6WXNkvsPs Date: Thursday, April 7th 2022. The teenagers decided to do what seemed like an herculean task - they were daring, at least more than any kid their age. Tim wasn't always the fearful type especially when it's time to get his hands dirty, but this one spelled a danger that he wasn't sure of. Tracy had always trusted her sidekick to be calm-headed when the going gets tough. And when they both made up their minds to leave the cart they hid in, there was no going back. "We're here", said the girl. "Alright, now let's show these crooked landowners that we don't back off a fight...". "Hold your horses there cowboy...", she stopped. "Let's not forget why we're here, time is not on our side", she continued. Tracy knew that doing this would mean something. Something the townspeople failed to realise. That the Brian's aren't what they seemed! She was willing to go the extra mile for the good of her family, and best friend, Tim. She must have thought that if the plan works the Town would realise their fault in making Brian Ruperts Mayor. Just before Tracy finished picking the last of the locks, she noticed a figure heading towards them in the thick of night. "Perhaps, it's the watchman", she thought. And in truth, it was! She cringed and hurried to where Tim was at. He was gone. She searched the place to warn him of the strange man-like figure she saw. By this time, they have let out the horses and she worried that he must've taken the chance to flee without waiting for her. "Oh, Tim! You bloody cunt. Wait till I get a hold of you", she said angrily. She scrurried out of the stables and back to the rendezvous point. But, it all seemed strange. She knew Tim too well and he wouldn't have not stayed back for her. Suddenly, she heard a scream from behind the stables. It felt like a cry for help. She gasped and tried to find her breath. "No! That must be Tim. What do I do?", she thought. All of a sudden, a man leapt out of the shadows and towards the direction of an old house. She could see the figure clearly now. It was the watchman. He was dragging what looked like a boy with him to his shelter. His firm grip held tightly the wrist of the person that was forced to go with him. She moved closer to try and get a view of who it was, and like she feared it was Tim. "H... h... he's been caught!", she stuttered. How it came to be was beyond her reasoning. He was only a few steps behind her and, although she noticed a sudden stint in the moments it took to perform her magic ****(pick the locks)**** and release the horses. She never thought anything of it as he probably must've gotten tired of his ramblings. Now more than ever she had to find a way to get Tim out. But, how would it be? She hasn't been cornered to that extent, or been found to be in such dire situation. To her it's become more of a life and death situation, and the mere thought of it only made her feel worse. It didn't take long when the man came out and pointed a flash light into the bushes near his home. He must've heard some rustling and suspected that the boy surely had an accomplice. "Come out this instant or, there'll be consequences". His voice sounded hoarse and managed to send shivers to Tracy's spine. If she was planning to do anything at all, now is not the time to play Macho. She jumped out of from where she hid and requested that the man released her friend. He was surprised to hear the little lady say that. Perhaps, she must have thought the whole situation wrong. So, he deemed it necessary to question the both of them. "Why don't you come in?", said the watchman. "So you can do whatever it is you plan to do to me?", she asked. "Not a chance!", she continued. "Alright Missy, I'll be brief. I know you both caused the ruckus earlier. Now I have to find the horses you so ignorantly released into the night!", he said angrily. "Do you have any idea what work you've given to me?", he continued. "Serves anyone who works for the Brian's right", she mumbled. ****Sighs**** "Your friend in there told me all that happened after I told him I wasn't the bad guy", he said. "I know you think the Brian's are up to no good, and you left me with a ton of work trying to catch them red-handed", he added. Tracy tried hard to not believe the made up story until, Tim came out the front door. She was glad, and confused. "He was probably coerced to tell me off my wonderful plan", she thought. But, the Man was telling the truth. He's been working undercover to investigate the Brian's property as they were news of underhanded operations in the makeshift hideout. After all that was said, the Man talked them into leaving it all for the grownups and the proper authorities. It was an unforgettable experience for the teenagers, and this time they had to bid farewell to their unending mischief. Ahough Tracy's expression never showed any signs of giving up her "old-found" hobby. Still, they both felt it was worth the effort. Greetings! Hi everyone. So, that's the final part of he story I started with a prompt two nights ago. I wasn't able to conclude it yesterday as I was so tired I dozed off after the Champions League game. I hope you like it. A mischief too many. Image https://unsplash.com/photos/jX6WXNkvsPs Date: Tuesday, April 5th 2022. ***Prompt: He didn't reply and immediately she thought: they've got him and now they're coming for me.*** It was dark, with no person in sight. At least, so it seemed at the time. She was just about to perform her magic by opening the gate to the Brian's property. Surprisingly, the lock was stiff and difficult to budge and time was running out. To her left was her partner in crime, Tim - he was keeping an eye out for the watchman, at that point he must have wondered how his best friend, Tracy, managed to convince him to go along with her menacing idea. It may not strike her as dangerous, but he couldn't bare the thought of getting caught and probably put in bars. Meanwhile, Tracy was having trouble with the lock she is so often good at picking. Her shaky hands were letting them both down. It was not the first time they went on an expedition like this one - so they called it, but somehow in a very long time they both weren't feeling as comfortable as they normally would. Suddenly a flash of light could be seen heading towards their direction. Now, more than ever Tim was frantic. "Hurry with the bloody lock, will you?", he whispered. "I am trying my hardest here, Tim". "How can this thing be so difficult", she complained. The footsteps that seemed to be a couple of feet away gradually closed in on them. "It has to be now, or never!", she thought. And finally it budged. She hurried into a cart some steps from the gate, and gestured that Tim run into the same space she was in. "At long last!", he said covering his face with both his hands. They took a moment to catch their breaths and, after awhile Tracy peeked through the tiny hole on the wooden cart. The area wasn't fully scoped due to the small hole she looked from, but she concluded within herself that the danger had passed. "Let's get a move on then, you cry baby", she teased. "W... would you rather I die before being a little considerate for who I am?", he asked. "No. I would rather you stay alive and help me in many more of my quests", she mocked. Tim had succumbed to the fact that there is no changing her. She was a conniving, yet stupendously bright young girl. Although her recklessness would be her greatest undoing, however when all is said and done she somehow finds a way out for the both of them in the end. At least, that was what he thought would happen. "This time we're going to be releasing all the horses in the stables", she said. Her determined look almost got Tim dumbfounded. His intense gaze was enough to knock her off the cart onto the dry land. "What is it?", she asked. "Are you mad!", he exclaimed. "We would get caught you stupid girl, and then what, another conquest in your many expeditions?", he stopped. "I can't stay here a minute longer", he said. "Listen Tim, we'd just go about opening the doors the horses are held in, that's all. Nothing to it", she explained. Tim knew that once he doesn't follow through with her plan she'd only make fun of his cowardice and go alone. He wore a worried look on his face. Although his mind was telling him to heed his instincts, his head wanted to believe that they would stand a chance of escaping together. Greetings! Hi. It's almost midnight and today like yesterday was hectic. But, i was able to read a couple of Articles though. Especially @meitanteikudo 's... I was able to use his prompt for this story. It took me almost forty minutes though. I wasn't as quick or as good a writer as he is. I would blame it on the distraction here but, nah I wasn't just thinking quickly enough. :D Regardless, I hope you enjoyed it. Ooh! And I broke it in two parts. I would finish up tomorrow as I'm almost past bedtime. You can use the same prompt too, if you want. (Tell me what you think of it in the comment section). Thank you for sticking with me Until we read again. ✌️💐 Follow me on: ***noise.cash*** https://noise.cash/post/9z0r37gc306kz
Tired, My head hurts. Images https://unsplash.com/photos/sxQz2VfoFBE Date: Monday, April 4th 2022. What a day! I do not intend to or, rather I never intended to write today. I feel like my strength is leaving my body and my head has drawn a blank. I am tired! I don't think I got enough sleep today. My body is heating up and even as I write I do not know what to feel anymore. What's more I have this excruciating pain at the back of my neck. I have tried using a swift method I learnt way back for relieving the pain, but it is not working. I hope it doesn't get worse. It is a rather persistent pain, it feels like my neck itself is just focused on one point that I don't know if I can turn my neck to the side. Besides coupled with my exhaustion I think I'm spent for the day! Just some thirty minutes ago, I decided to take a walk. It is still 10:22 p.m. When I started with this a few minutes ago, i wasn't sure I was going to write this much. But, from the begining - which was a much farther time from now, I set a target to write as much as I did in the last Month. I perused through some Articles before leaving the house this morning. But, I guess the body calls for some rest. So, as I was saying. I took a walk just to escape the boring view of my room. I was so bored of everything. In the moments I took out of the house I sort of felt like I missed seeing the faces and buildings in the neighborhood. It was refreshing. But, it was short lived though as I eventually went back to the confines of my room. Alas! I can't seem to find the courage to socialise. My extreme introvert personality would only get worse at this rate. I hope my would-be girlfriend is the opposite of me. Hence, we don't become like zombies in the house starring at the same ol' ceiling every single day without any form of fun in our lives. (Don't quote me though. I was just joking)!. Anyway, I am beginning to feel drowsy and my eyes is beckoning for some light out. I'm not surprised. I'm obviously tired. I have eaten though. So, all I just need to do a to put a stop to this absolutely random post and fall deeply into the arms of sleep. (I wasn't sure of any word best to describe my current situation, hence my unusual description). In the break of dawn I hope to feel energetic and sharp for the new day. I'm looking forward to the Champions League game tomorrow night too. Although my club would be playing their game on Wednesday. I think I'll see the game tomorrow night nonetheless. Now, if you'll kindly pardon me. It is time to get some shut eye. Greetings! Hey... Like I said, that was an extremely random post. I am not feeling too well with the neck pain. I hope it heals soon. I must've not positioned it rightly while I slept at midnight. Alright then... Until we read again. P.S I, recently, joined noise.cash you can follow me there too. Just to keep the friendship going, wouldn't you say? ***Here:*** ***Noise*** https://noise.cash/post/9z0r37gc306kz Thank you for sticking with me. ✌️💐
Five (5) common misconceptions about Scorpios. Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/scorpio-zodiac-sign-abstract-night-sky-background-gm858080114-141608205 Date: Sunday, April 3rd 2022. People most likely tend to be very critical about certain personality types and traits they aren't comfortable with. Hence, the reason why some of them develop a sense of judgement in that regard. In recent times, the study of Astrology has been considered non-factual by quite a number of people, they question if truly there lies some validity in whatever they are told about their personality/ individual traits. Athough i may not be a firm believer of Astrology, yet I have found that certain things require a certain level of experimentation that often times leads to discovery. Here are the five (5) common misconceptions about Scorpios: 5. Jealousy Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/jelousy-gm157508886-10996861 There is all likelihood the human mind at some point tend to get jealous. It is in itself not a bad thing but, however the case may be it shouldn't be nurtured into something that will spiral out of control. Many people especially associate this behavioral pattern with Scorpios, even when there exists a knowledge of the aforementioned traits in their human minds. Scorpios are rather one of the most intense of the twelve signs. Because they feel to the extreme anything they commit themselves to; it is no wonder they are mostly painted in the wrong picture. 4. Possessiveness Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/greedy-gm108124969-339021 Curiosity is something that is characterised to Scorpios. Their outlook on life sometimes gives the wrong impression on people and therefore distant themselves from them. They are hardworking and love things done in their proper manner. They may strike some as perfectionists but, in their doing they make sure to remain goal focused and driven. 3. Evil/Vengeful Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/bad-guy-scratching-the-car-door-with-a-screwdriver-in-the-parking-lot-on-the-street-gm1202839550-345493901 "In all your doing never hurt a Scorpio", so they say lest you should think about betraying them or getting on their wrong side. Scorpios are also said to be immensely patient people, they can decide to wait long periods in order to exact their revenge. However, it is only a half truth not all Scorpios are like that. Consider many of the other zodiac signs having the capacity to be cold and decisive about relationships and whatever. Just as there exists the worst side of any person, there is also a good side. These notions are only bred from the stereotypes of passed amongst naysayers and aren't exactly what it is made out to seem. 2. Creepy/Weird Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/illustration-of-mysterious-man-behind-glass-surface-creepy-abstract-concept-gm1295939096-389505619 Let us talk about the weirdness of a Scorpio. In truth people born under his zodiac may come off as weird, creepy or strange. Because of their belief about a sense of preservation for their emotional state, they are found to be quite distant and in the end, assumed to be weird. They are very emotional people and they mostly prefer their peace, solitude and quietness as it were. Any attempt to keep them from being who they are would only prove futile. However, whenever a person finds himself an extraverted and outgoing Scorpio that would be quite a find, wouldn't it? *Smiles!* 1. Control Freaks Image https://www.istockphoto.com/vector/rechargeable-man-gm1282904570-380499498 Nobody likes the idea of being controlled by anybody, especially when it is for some twisted reason. I, especially, don't like being controlled or ordered around. However, a Scorpios passionate and independent personality makes them out to be Manipulative. That is not case. (So, I think...)! Their working relationship with fellow colleagues might sometimes lead to misunderstandings, make no mistake about their sense of duty and determination to achieve their goals regardless. Their life goals have been set down to a T and nothing can stop from getting to where they have envisioned themselves to be. In the long run, it is either you're there to help them achieve the targets or just another distraction. And when they meet someone who subscribes to their ideas; they become a major force to reckon with. ***Disclaimer*** The article written above is for entertainment purposes only. Excitement at home amidst an upcoming examination. Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/cute-girl-embracing-mother-at-home-gm1309451372-399161096 Date: Saturday, April 2nd. It is an exciting time around home today. The news of the end of term results for my little sister sent sparkles through the hearts of my parents. As always she did marvellously. Although, she has little stints of being reckless and rather playful, I enjoy the fact that she knows what interests her and that she ensures that all of her curiosity is satisfied. Perhaps, it's a common trait amongst children her age. It's going to be party time at some point in the later time of today. I'm just sad I haven't enough to get her something for her efforts. Dad, on the other hand, never likes to show his emotions. He my have given a corner smile when I glanced at him. But, I wonder sometimes why grown ups - especially Men, don't show what they truly feel. Makes you wonder if, on the inside, they are jumping up with joy and happiness. But, never would you see them show it. Haha My other little sister (cos' I have two younger sisters), would be preparing for an exam, soon. Scratch that, she already has started preparing. It's an external exam called the WEST AFRICAN SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION. I am certain she is gonna pass. Why? Because she's also making effort to do excellently by studying. And when she does it'll perhaps be another big celebration in the house. But, first things first, study - write - pass! That's the common trio everybody subscribes to when they prepare for an examination; whether they are aware of such logic or not! Gradual Improvement It's taken me no less than fifteen minutes to quickly write up to this point. I don't know most people would write them in a lesser time, but since it's work in progress it's no biggie actually. Since I have started to consciously be aware of the time it takes me to write and when to stop. It's as if i have suddenly been able to think faster, write better (excluding the small typo errors, though), and improve my creative capacity. Many times, all I do is to first visualise the number of words I'm willing to write and when I get a Writer's block anything that comes next felt kind of forced. (Well, that's what I thought). Now, I feel like I'm getting better. I can write better. And I'm only certainly going to improve. Attending writing classes was, really, beneficial. It provided me with an opportunity to grow. It was a free class to begin with, but in no way am I not grateful for their efforts. Such grand gestures are sometimes taken for granted. Procrastinating would be the order of the day, but then if we decide to be intentional about our growth, to actively be involved with our development we would witness a striking change in various aspects of our lives. That's what I learned. It was essential and is still, very essential! I would like to thank my sponsor, @Talecharm . It was an awesome last month of March and her support really went a long way. To all my friends; subscribers, readers and commenters. I appreciate you! I look forward to a fruitful New Month of April for all of us. Greetings! Hi! I hope you guys are enjoying your weekend and relaxing with your family. Cos' my day would be swell today. There's going to be a football match at lunch hour. I am super happy the Premier League is back this weekend. Thank you for reading. ✌️💐
