Date: Friday, April 1st 2022.
A wonderful new Month to all of you. I mean it IS the beginning of the second quarter of the year, isn't it? *Laughs!* There's been so many happenings already in the world. The times are changing, and we all have become witnesses to it. Talk about the scorching weather, to the development of recent events at home and abroad, those in itself, as unprecedented as it seems are what has brought us to this moment.
A lot of us try our hardest to pursue dreams, achieve goals and to find fulfilment. Sometimes, the pressures abound to extents we couldn't have imagined from the outset. Most people give into these pressures, while some people push to get ahead. Their determination, and desire remained unshaken... They trudge through harsh conditions with the hope of getting to their desired El Dorado, because they've become aware of what is at stake. Often times, I see the drive on the faces of people and I wonder just how much the young adults - Men and Women alike, make efforts that'll later put them in the pedestal. Without a doubt, in their set time, all the years of hard work will eventually pay off.
Towards the end of the previous month I had a long reflective moment. It was one of those times I had alone with myself in order to think on the things that are important - on the things that matter to me. I even stated in my journal the difficulties I faced trying to map them out. It was rather an indecisive moment but, now it's safe to say that I am gradually coming to the realization of what I need to do. It's all beginning to take shape and right now, I am starting to think positively towards it and not let myself be swayed by negative emotions. They are the little steps I'm willing to take in order to actualise my dreams - cos in truth they are mine and they are the only future I want to chase!
It is a wonderful thing to have someone who you can be accountable to. Whether a mentor, a friend, or even colleague. In times when somethings become too vague and hard to overcome they are the ones who helps us to stand back on our feet. We may fall, and whichever way we look at it, the falling isn't the problem; the real issue is when we remain fallen. We can always rise back up. You probably must've heard those lines somewhere. No matter, because the more we listen to words that are meant to challenge and build us; the better we actually become because of them. Isn't that right? I am so glad that I am constantly reminded of words like these and so many more from the articles I engage in daily here. I'm super happy the authors/writers here were able to make out the time to give such inspiring contents and, I feel like their work only pushes me to be more inspired, and better inundated to perform. They are like compasses directing me to become a better version of myself. I am certain that in the many months that are to come, and as long as this platform remains, so many people's lives would be changed positively.
Greetings!
Happy New Month again, people!
What a time. What a moment! Just this morning I was notified about the number of times my Articles been viewed and i saw a whopping 500 times! I don't know whether I should feel like I could've gotten more but, I gotta give myself some credit. No? 😁

Title: A carefully thought out plan, Ep 03
Date: Thursday 31st, 2022
Author: VinceCharlie✓
A few days has passed since the time I laid eyes on Mia. Eric, on the other hand, has been off grid. After we had training together, he locked up and hasn't uttered a word to me since then. Talk about a major fallout!
Meanwhile, back home Mom had just returned from her trip from Grandma's. I never understood why she wouldn't let me go visit my grandparents, since I turned twelve it was as if something really bad happened between them. Perhaps, Dad's death sort of did a number on her mentally. There were night's I would come home from Eric's only to find her holding onto Dad's photo, and in tears. She misses him. Hell, I feel the same way too. If only He didn't leave home that day. Regardless, I'm sure he would not want her being like that, because I most certainly do not.
It happened last summer. Mom got a call from an unknown number telling her to hurry to a place, she wrote down the location and dashed out the front door. I was outside the garden picking out the weeds. As soon as I saw the terror on her face, i had a gut feeling something horrible has happened. Few hours later, someone called. It was Uncle Peter, his voice was hoarse as if he was trying to get to terms with the bitter news he was about to reveal. He must have thought of all the possible ways he could do it. I couldn't blame him. I was just as scared and wondered what gory details of the news he was taking forever to reveal.
*"H... Hiya, Victor. Listen, kid. I'll just tell you what the doctor said to me and your Mom a moment ago"*, he said.
*"Your Dad was robbed of some really huge amount of money on his way home today, he was shot and had lost a lot of blood before he was brought here..."*, he continued.
At that point, all I could think about was Dad... Uncle Pete's words gradually seemed to faint as I was too overwhelmed with the thoughts that welled up inside me. I felt like a huge pit was growing in my tummy and the wellness that remained began fleeting away.
*"...your Dad's dead. I'm so sorry, kid".*
The call dropped on the other side, and I found myself back in my current reality. My emotions were jumbled, my mind was foggy. I stared at the Portrait sitting at the top of Dad's book shelf - despondent, and sorrowful, unable to shed a tear. Dad's life has been taken. For long periods, it felt like mine was, as well. Even now, reminiscing about it breaks the tiny heart pieces left in me.
****Ring****
I was startled by the sudden noise that followed. I didn't like the fact that I was distracted, in fact it felt Infuriating.
"*Arrgh! You're so gonna get it this time, Eric".*
*"Hey!!!", I shouted.*
*"Uhm... Sorry, is this a bad time?".*
*"Mia...?"*, I gasped.
*"Vic. I'm so sorry I bothered calling you at this hour. Maybe this is a bad time, I'll call you later"*, she said hurriedly.
Well, I was certainly surprised she called but I was even more curious as to where she got my number from. As much as I'd like to think it was Eric, I didn't want to believe he would go as far as giving my number out without my permission. Or, wait... He wouldn't!
*"Its alright. I'm not particularly doing anything of importance. What's the matter?"*, I replied.
*"Uh... Err... You must be wondering how I got your number. Eric gave it to me. He asked to give you call and said you needed a date for Friday's party but you were kinda busy with your Mom so he took the initiative of helping out"*, she explained.
***"Huhn?"***. Now, this is the weirdest situation I have been at. How could Eric have blatantly sold a lie to Mia 'bout me needing a date to a party I know nothing about? My response, however, would either be a turning point in our relationship or a total ruin that'll probably put a dint in it.
*"Uhm... Yeah, yes. I, I did say something like that. Mom was busy with stuff so I asked him for help"*, I lied.
*"So... I don't know if I'll be allowed to leave home that night but, I'll try to convince Dad to let me"*, she said.
*"It's okay. You can cancel if he wouldn't allow you to"*, I stopped. *"I don't mind. I'm totally down with it"*, I said relieved.
*"I didn't say I was planning to cancel. It's not like i'll be tied down or locked up. You're just being a jerk. Goodnight!",* she said abruptly.
I wouldn't say I was glad to feel like talking to Mia brought back fond memories, but still there was this kind of joy I felt. It was Euphoric! Minutes later, I got a beep from Eric. Angry as I was, I was happy he texted.
*"Oi! I'm sure you must be peeing your pants right now after you got Mia's call. 😂 I know. Cos' I also told her you only answered calls at times like this. I trust you didn't disappoint me this time, cos it'll be off with your head when I see you. (Not literally)😌 I can't wait to see you two together at the dance. Until then, i guess... Ciao! ✌️😋"*
It read. :-(
I wasn't sure whether to laugh, or be infuriated at the sarcastic remark I got from the text. But, a sense of warmth filled my heart. I was grateful. He must've gone through a lot of trouble thinking things up. Although, he didn't tell me he planned on doing something else. I just knew there was still more to come and something way worse still lies in his conniving sleeves. He may not know it, but I sure can read his thoughts too. Maybe, that's how deep our bonds go. *Smiles! :-)*
Greetings!

What plans have I?
Image https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/old-rooms-with-sleepwalker-walking-into-mysterious-passage-gm1277026048-376354712
Date: Wednesday, March 30th.
A few days has past since I arrived home from school. All is well for me health wise, and home hasn't been homier. Although I have this compelling desire to get a job somewhere, in order to help keep up with the little I can get at the house. I am still, rather, inconclusive. Jobs are not easy to come by these days - that much is true, but as much as I'd like to get my hands busy with something; the inability to decide what to do is killing me. I mean do I just leave home one day in search of something that I didn't loose? (That doesn't make sense. I know. Because I've been overthinking lately sometimes the thoughts don't just click as I want them to).
Last night, I read from Mr. @Olasquare. His article "You've got to plan", made me think on the possibilities of doing things differently - by that I mean being able to take opportunities as they come and carefully mapping out the things I should do to make me better at what I do. I love writing that much I know. I can definitely improve on my writing skills. But, what about learning something other than writing? Perhaps, doing anything else would eventually be a drag, and at some point I'll get tired of it. But, who am I kidding? I'll remain stuck if I don't make an effort to come out of this sticky mud. There are some people's work here that I admire and look up to. As one of them is mentioned above, I especially, love reading @meitanteikudo- his series late nights, drunken thoughts usually feels like I got a ticket to see a whole new world of free writing euphoria. @Talecharm- I can never go wrong with such inspiring contents, @Kristofferquincywith all of the intriguing top ten contents , @FarmGirl , @MichaelBCH , and some others I can't find the time to mention due to my low battery... If only I could be as resourceful, and inspirational. *Smiles!*
Meanwhile, I feel like I am doing enough. Regardless, of me being here for over a Month if I am to make an assessment of myself so far I'll say I've been rather POOR. Somedays I'm like *"My Article/post would get noticed",* other days I worry *"I'm not attracting viewers to my articles. I should join a community, instead. Maybe I'll attract readers that way".* Well, no. These were the thought process that brought me to the notion of not, simply, doing enough. Maybe I should ask myself the question, *"What have I been doing wrongly?"*. Well, nothing ever comes easy. Who knows, maybe, if I do things differently it still wouldn't work out. *Sighs* At this point, it feels like all I do is to read and read and read and write and write and hope and hope. Wow, it seems I have begun to nag. That wasn't my intention when I decided to write this. I just wanted to clear things out for myself.
Even now as I write, I am stuck and I can't find the words to continue. It's 9:38 a.m, my head is blank and I'm hungry. Alas! I'm having one of those days where I don't know if I can get far by forcing out something that wouldn't be of any interest to readers, whatsoever. I don't know but, I think I'm a perfectionist. If something is to pique my interest or, let's say I'm to do anything that has to do with writing it has to be with the right words, spellings and all the whatnots. Maybe I should revisit that thought, too, right? *Laughs!*
Oh well, time to refill my batteries, stop my overthinking and get something to eat. I apologise for boring you with my uninteresting rantings. I really should stick with doing something better, and less boring next time.
Greetings!
A pleasant morning to y'all.
That was one really, really random writing piece from me. From my point of view, I find it very unorthodox. I hope to interest you guys with something from my ongoing series titled, "Love, fantasies and Moonlights".
But, until we read again.
Thank you for sticking with me.

Five (5) of the World's deadliest Volcanoes.
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/arenal-at-dusk-gm1315470777-403431006
Date: Monday, March 28th.
It is no surprise that the resulting effect of active Volcanoes scattered in different parts on the Earth are one of the World's natural phenomenon. Their complex structures and vast history spanning millions of years remains a fascinating subject matter for geographers and geologists to learn about.
Without further ado let's take a look at Five of the World's deadliest volcanoes.
5. Mount St. Helen's - Washington
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/mt-st-helens-ridge-gm465147798-59015994
Noted for it's infamous eruption on March 27, 1980 - which caused a series of explosions resulting to earthquakes that continued for months, as well as causing one of the largest recorded landslide in history. Around 57 people were killed in the aftermath, along with a total of 200 destroyed houses, 47 bridges, 15 mi (24 km) of railways, and 185 mi (298 km) of highway. The resulting ash and debris was, therefore, recorded in eleven American states and two Canadian provinces.
Despite it's later eruptions during the early years of the 90's, a reported 21 eruption activity took place. Till this day, St. Helens remains active, with the top of the volcano filled with a lava dome and a large glacier. Eruption of Mount St. Helens https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_eruption_of_Mount_St._Helens
4. Mount Kilauea - Hawaii
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/lava-lake-at-halemaumau-gm1006629870-271670029
Mount Kilauea being one of the active shield volcano in the Hawaain Islands is home to the most frequent volcanic eruptions. It's name meaning "spewing" in the Hawaain language is reference to it's constant outpouring of lava.
Mount Kilauea emerged above sea level some 100, 000 years ago and is over 200, 000 years old. It's recent eruption occured during the past year on September 29th, 2021. Although they are non-explosive. They are, however, contained within a boiling lake of active lava – which occasionally overflows along the caldera.
It's first properly documented eruption occured in the year 1823; but in the years predating the initial recorded eruption - one particular violent explosive activity in 1790 was said to have killed over 400 residents, making it the deadliest Volcanic eruptions.
3. Mayon Volcano - Philippines
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/mount-mayon-albay-philippines-gm930785478-255161330
Also known as Mount Mayon, is an active stratovolcano in the Albay province of Bicol Region, near the Island of Luzon - Philippines. Famous for it's "perfect cone" shape and widely considered very sacred in the native Philippine Mythology, the Mayon has erupted over 47 times in the last 500 years. It's very first eruption - according to historical observations, lasted for 6 days on July 20th, 1766.
February 1st, 1814 was the day of it's most destructive recorded eruption; laying to waste trees, damaging rivers and devastated areas in it's wake. About 1,200 locals in the Cagsawa town perished in what is the most deadly eruption in Mayon's history. Mayon Volcano https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayon
2 Redoubt Volcano - Alaska
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/mount-redoubt-across-the-cook-inlet-gm537882704-95559615
Located at the head of the Chigmit Mountains in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, standing at a gigantic 10,000ft above sea level. Mount Redoubt is one of the most dangerous of 51 active volcano in Alaska.
Having erupted four times since it was first observed. In the years 1902, 1966, 1989 and 2009 respectively. It became the most expensive volcanic eruption in the U.S history causing disruptions in air traffic. The aftermath of it's eruption damage estimated over $160 million.
**1. Mount Fuji - Japan**
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/japan-mount-fuji-gm638503228-114518353
Japan's Mt. Fuji is an active volcano about 100 kilometers Southwest of Tokyo. It is usually called "Fuji-san" due to it's presumed super power, with the word "Fuji" standing for*"Immortality"* and "San" meaning *"Mountain"* in the Japanese language.
Despite it being dormant since its last eruption dating 315 years ago from this time, some still fear it to be dangerous due to the considerable amount of damage a large eruption of that magnitude could cost; with experts suggesting a cost of ¥2.5 trillion in damages.

6. The Giant Blue Eye - Mauritania
Source https://www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/thumbnails/image/iss059e013137.jpg
If there is ever a place that will strike you as strange, I bet this one will leave you in awe. Located in the Western Sahara Desert - Mauritania, is one of Africa's strangest wonder. Also known as the "Eye of the Sahara", this Giant Blue Eye is believed to be over a 100 million years old. It's amazing structure is like a blue circle.
Although this incredible spectacle may not be fully understood by scientists, some believe it to be caused by the impact of a steroid or by some volcanic eruption; while others say the hole was formed when God flooded the Earth with water in the days of Noah. If these theories, however, can be proven it would remain a mystery we may never know of. Eye of the Sahara https://www.gigalresearch.com/uk/mystery-of-the-giant-blue-eye-of-africa-in-mauritania.php
5. Crook's Corner - South Africa
Source https://www.dreamstime.com/crooks-corner-kruger-national-park-south-africa-dry-river-bed-limpopo-where-zimbabwe-mozambique-s-borders-meet-image161961094
Located in the Far North Eastern end of the Kruger National Park where the Luvhuvhu and Limpopo rivers meet - South Africa, is an extremely vast and historic island that once served as a hideout for fugitives and criminals on the run. Also known as the 'haven of scoundrels', it is nestled in between three countries - South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
The origin of it's name was given because of the immense number of criminals that escaped the law in the '90s. Decades ago, the criminals would travel in extreme conditions whilst evading wild animals that roam the area. It has, however, now become a Top Tourists destination in the Kruger National Park. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kruger_National_Park
4. The Abandoned outdoor Movie theater - Egypt
Source https://egyptianstreets.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/c3.jpg
Somewhere around the southern byland of the Sinai Desert in Egypt remains a group of about 700 seats for an outdoor movie cinema. This remarkably eerie theater widely dubbed as the *"End of the world cinema"*, was built by a Frenchman named Diynn Eadel in the late 1990's.
Regardless of it's historic feat, there were suggestions that the local authorities weren't thrilled with the idea of a prospective new theatre in the middle of the desert at the time and, therefore conspired to disrupt the Premiere night by cutting the power and destroying the generator.
It was reported to have been permanently closed off to tourists and eventually destroyed. No one knows who was responsible and there has been no response or news from officials regarding the destruction. It remains to be seen what becomes of the site. But, make no mistake that the *"End of the World Cinema"* remained an historic place in Africa till this day.
**3. The seven coloured Earth of Charamel - Mauritius**
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/seven-coloured-earth-on-chamarel-mauritius-island-africa-gm1083457410-290662347
Located on the South-Western tip of Mauritius, is found this spectacular destination bordered by an 83-metre high waterfall found in the Charamel plain of the Rivière Noire District. It not only catches the eye of Tourists, Nature lovers and Geology enthusiast around the world but, it provides a unique experience for those who simply wants to understand more about one of Nature's amazing wonder.
It is formed by a volcanic eruption, resulting in seven colors of earth spun together to form the must-see feature and, has since become one of Mauritius' main tourists attraction since the 1960's. Seven colored Earths https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Coloured_Earths
2. The marshes of deadvlei - Namibia
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/black-desert-trees-namibia-dead-vlei-desert-salt-pan-gm1216708988-354887855
Deadvlei meaning "Dead Marsh", located near the salt flat (which is a natural dry plain whose bed contains abundant salt); in the Namib-Naukluft Park in Namibia is a white clay pan. A very shocking fact is that the trees in this area has been dead for 600 - 700 years ago, due to the fact that there was no longer water to survive.
Some suggest there are other species of plants that are able to adapt and survive by living off little rainfall and Morning mists. Although it may so like one of the spookiest places yet, but that is what what makes the place even more fascinating.
1. The church of St. George - Lalibela
Source https://www.istockphoto.com/photo/rock-hewn-church-of-saint-george-gm499097815-42673112
Named after the King Gebrel Mesqel Lalibela of the Zagwe Dynasty, and located in a town called the Amahara Region, Ethiopia. The Church of St. Geaorge is one of the eleven rock hewn monolithic churches in Lalibela.
Long dated to the 12th - 13th century AD, the Church of St. George was carved downwards using an Architectural material known as the volcanic tuff. It was commissioned by the late King and, after having become the best built of the Eleven churches in the Lalibela area it was dubbed as one of the *"Eighth Wonder of the World".*

My lack of enthusiasm for Road travels.
Image https://unsplash.com/photos/c0I4ahyGIkA
Date: Thur, March 2022.
There are people who absolutely love travelling. They see it as a means for adventure and hence, they wouldn't mind doing everything they can just to be at new places. For them it's more of a thrill. But, who can blame them? Certainly, not me. I respect those kinds of people. In fact, there are times when I feel I should be more like they are.
I've got friends who have been to different places at different times. Whether it be restaurants or huge malls in far away cities, or parks filled with people of different races and tribes. They wouldn't stop talking about it. I see the enthusiasm in their eyes every single time. Sometimes, I just feel like maybe I'm a little too introverted. Like an ALPHA INTROVERT! I don't travel, or even visit the people I care about. Not that I don't want to, It's just that I feel like leaving the house for a place so far away isn't worth the trouble. Weird, right? Well, welcome to my world. *Laughs!*
My very first inter-state travel was the most dreadful experience I've ever had. It took long hours just to get to my destination. As frustrating as it was, I couldn't help it. School called, and I had no choice but to go for it. You know what I mean, right?
I was Sixteen at the time. Mom and I left home with a couple of the things needed for a freshman. We left home past 6 a.m in the morning and got to school twelve hours later. You can imagine how dreadfully bleak, and boring the whole journey went. At some point, I couldn't take it. How a journey of six to seven hours turned twelve was beyond me.
Since then, anytime I want to leave home for school I always feel this huge out in my stomach. Like I was allergic to road travel. Soon after, I found out I get road sick - in other words Motion sickness; as soon as the journey begins.
There was this one time I was heading home from school. The semester had just ended. We were already a few hours into the journey when the worst thing happened. I wanted to throw up. The nauseating feeling was so strong and I could barely hold up. There were about 15 passengers in the bus that day. How could I possibly tell the driver to stop at high speed in the middle of nowhere? It, eventually, got worse. When I realised I couldn't hold it in anymore. I decided to ask someone tell the driver to make a quick stop. Sadly, he didn't listen. Then, I remembered listening to a preacher days before about the Lord's listening ears anytime we say a prayer no matter how trivial we think it is.
*"Sometimes the faintest prayer can be the most powerful, because the Lord listens".*
I said a prayer asking the Lord to calm my chaotic digestive system. Within minutes, i felt better. You can imagine the joy I felt when it did. I was grateful. I told my parents what happened and they were glad.
I didn't understand how people enjoy travelling by road because it was always discomforting for me. I'd rather just fly to wherever place I wish to go. I wonder if that would be a fun experience for me. I may never know until I try.
Greetings!

Bad At Love II, Ep 02.

Series: Love, Fantasies and Moonlights.
Title: Bad at love II, Ep 02.
Date: Wed, March 23rd.
Author: VinceCharlie✓
It was a little past four in the morning, and I could hear the clock ticking near the bedside - each sound was like torture to my ears. My mind was bombarded with the thoughts of what happened the night before. If there was ever a time I felt miserable, none would've been a match for that moment. Mia and I go way back, but the thumping feeling and persistent toss and turns were unimaginable. I was glad she came back. Perhaps, that grateful feeling was directed to her Dad than it was, wholly, about her.
Sadly I awoke to the familiar, but yet frustrating banging outside my room door. It was Eric and, I barely slept four hours. Somehow, he forgets I always keep the door unlocked before I go to bed. ****(Mum's idea)**** His tiptoeing was as annoying as his whole attempt to sneak under my bed.
*"Can't he ever take a hint?"*, I mumbled under my pillow.
*"Oops! Seems like you're already awake",* he said with a grin on his face. *"It's Saturday, dude".*
*"C'mon, it's time for practice!"*, he yelled.
*"I'm up. Sheesh!".*
The School has started preparations for the upcoming Inter-high competition. I was obviously pysched about the opportunity to help the team win the yearly Football Merit award. But, I had another thing, or so to say a person in mind.
**"MIA!"**.
As awkward as the whole situation was I wasn't sure I could walk out the front door. Mia was just a Stone's throw from my place. Hell, we're neighbours now. After what I did last night I couldn't stop to face her. It didn't take long before things got out of hand.
*"Hey, Vic. Wouldn't you go say Hi to Mia before we leave".*
It came. The words I didn't want to hear. It felt like I was hammered with a sledge. Even when I was already feeling regret for freaking out in the last meeting.
*"Wait. You guys talked last night, right?"*, he asked giving me a weird look.
*"Not really. I guess we didn't talk very much"*, I answered.
*"Will you stop acting like you're the coolest kid in the world and say what you really feel, right now!",* he said abruptly.
Like I said, Eric had always known how I felt about Mia; about anything. He was right to be upset at that point. I was bad at lying to myself. Meanwhile, he was so good at putting pieces together.
***Sighs***
*"Listen, Eric. I adore Mia. You know that already",* I said raising a brow. *"I told you. We didn't speak very much last night. Her Dad was not too far from us. I wasn't sure what to do..."*, I continued.
*"...so, you left?"*, he asked.
Of course he already figured I did that.
*"Yes",* I answered.
I could tell he was annoyed i wasted his efforts, but there was nothing he could do. It was a long and unbearable silence that followed while we walked that morning to the training ground. However, it was written on Eric's face that he was cooking up something - one that I wouldn't like if I come to hear of it later.
Greetings!
Hello, everyone.

Health update: Journey to recovery.

Date: Tuesday, March 22nd.
It's a fine morning in this part of the world. The weather seems cool and the sky is clear, i think it's a given after the heavy storm last night. I had a good sleep and felt like I could do some writing this morning. So, I decided to give an update to my health.
In my last article "Weekends and unfortunate events", I gave reasons for not being able to work fully in the last week. It was an unfortunate situation for me. I wondered when it would pass so I could get back to doing what I wanted. Currently, I feel better. Strange, because I haven't gotten my full medication yet. Last night's rain was more like a blessing, really, I feel refreshed and it made me sleep like a baby. Although, I still feel pain in the bottom left side down of my stomach. I'll, eventually, need to get that checked out as soon as possible. I hope to be a hundred percent before the end of the week. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/weekends-and-unfortunate-events-fba688d4
Prioritising Health
Image https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/weekends-and-unfortunate-events-fba688d4
It's safe to say that many humans fail to place importance on their health. Eating good food, exercising, and getting the needed rest to be refreshed in order to perform is essential. A lot of people spend time working many hours on a daily basis. Often times, we forget how to prioritize our health as we should.
Recently, I spoke with a friend and she explained how incredibly tedious and wearisome work gets. For a student, she does a very good job of balancing school activities with work. We spoke at length, advised each other on taking breaks, taking proper mediaction and being open to ourselves whenever the time calls for it. I'm glad to have someone like her as a friend. Thank God for her!
Once, I felt it wasn't necessary to put my body under stress by going to gyms to take exercises. As long as I could eat good food and get good sleep I was going to be healthy. Well, I was half right. Plus, school did quite a number on me. The whole stress was on a different level. Perhaps, it all accumulated and therefore my obvious situation. ***Smiles!***
**Low Stress**
Image https://unsplash.com/photos/NTyBbu66_SI
Stress is basically emotional pressure. That is how I would define it. The meaning itself has said more than I could possibly explain. We constantly give efforts to making ends meet for ourselves and families, that's reasonable.
Everybody has this moment when they feel the need to relax, but somehow we do not. Rest is essential, there's no overstating the fact. Taking time - whether once or twice a week dedicated to rewinding and recharging our batteries sometimes goes a long way. I know, I know... *"What about sleep, don't we sleep to recharge our batteries too?"*. Of course, you're right. Sleep is good for our bodies. It is even medically advised we take no less than 8 hours of rest each night. Take me for example, I sleep approximately 7 hours every night. Sometimes it's less. I just happen to wake up and it usually feels like I don't take enough sleep at all. Well, with the way our body is built varies and some people intentionally train their body enough to adapt. The point of it all is to always take the needed rest as at when due. At the right time, always.
Greetings!
Hi guys. Happiest morning to y'all.
This is a follow-up to my previous article. I wanted to let you guys in on my health. Although I'm not fully recovered yet. But, one by one and step by step I'll make it to full recovery.
Thank you for sticking with me.
Until next time!

Weekends and unfortunate events.

Date: Sunday, March 20th.
The past week has been a mix of illness, laxity and sadness. Everything happened sort of happened so fast. it started on a good note, with high expectations before the end of the week. I was going to start something new with a friend, like a project. We made agreements at midweek to begin, but Alas! Little did I know I was going to be facing long hours without supply of electricity.
I was disappointed. Confused. I did not know where to recharge. Even the backup I had - my power bank, didn't have any power. How ironic! The weather too wasn't encouraging and dealt a major blow to my health. I had cough, and a fever. I thought i was going to be okay before the weekend. But, it got kind of worse. I couldn't do the things I wanted. I still haven't gotten enough medication at this point. Even now, I feel sort of light headed and sore. Perhaps, the constant exercising had its effect on my body. *Smiles!*
All I did was watch some Netflix, Animes and YouTube on bed. I was alone. After a while, I tried carrying myself to another Friend of mine with the hopes of juicing up my PB and Android device. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to as the blackout continued. In retrospect, I tried to hide the feeling of pain I felt in the bottom left side of my tummy. He must've noticed. Maybe not. At this point, I didn't know where i could get my device charged?
Saturday came. Which was yesterday. Things got better I got a better feeling in the inside of my stomach. I didn't use any medication. My fever got better. I got a place to recharge my power Bank. (Which is why I could come active here, since I have recharged).
Well, now I feel better. I can now be able to interact here, and write as I want. It's not been a fun week. Hopefully, I get to start the project. If things go well. I should be able to.
Greetings!
Hi guys.
I am sorry I haven't been as active these past week. My last post came some two days ago. Around the time when I realised I was getting Ill. I should have been more aware of my health. This new week, I will get medication, relax a little and then resume the normal doings here.
Hope you guys are having a better weekend.
Thank you for sticking with me.
Until next time.

Bad At Love.

Series: Love, Fantasies and Moonlights.
Title: Bad At Love I, Ep 01.
Date: Thur, March 17.
Author: VinceCharlie✓
*"No-one can tell what to expect from a heart in love".* Those words resonated with my being, it feels like I am constantly being watched by those who are supposed to be my friends. Indeed, they are. Although, they mayn't have the most fitting qualities for one and, their habit of constantly nudging me towards the girl of my dreams were kind of sweet, but mostly irritable as they wouldn't let me be.
****Snap****
Eric waved across my face. It seemed I have been lost in my own thoughts. The expression on my face gave me away, sadly.
"What do you want!?", I snapped back.
"In what world did you suddenly find yourself in, Vic?", he asked. He has an habit of answering a question with another question. Which I've found really annoying.
"It's none of your business, is it?", i said to spite him.
"If you think you only get to sit here all night with the hopes of avoiding Mia, you're so wrong man!". Eric has always known how I felt about Mia. Sometimes, I wonder just how quick he is to figuring things out. Things I wish he could stay out of.
****Sighs****
"I know. But, what could I possibly say to her?". "I feel like our relationship has somehow spiraled these past years", I continued.
"Nah, man. If i heard there was ever a dumb person who rivals you in the whole world, I'd surely argue and top you on that list", he replied in a somewhat sarcastic manner. "Listen here, all you have to do is talk to her. You guys haven't spoken in a while right?", he stopped. "Well, now is the time to finally let her know".
And, yet again he somehow managed to see through my slick attempt to ignore his question, thereby adding the words I have so come to dread.
Mia Hansen always has a certain personality about her. Her charm, wittiness, kindness amongst her many better qualities found it's way into my heart. To think we were, once, the best of buddies before relocating with her father thousands of kilometers from our good ol' neighborhood. It was never possible to meet up after. A few years' passed already. Here I am. Sitted on an old metal bench not far from where we played as kids.
Her Dad drove in to a newly refurbished bungalow opposite mine. She came out and glanced at the new house with an undescribable appearance laid bare on her face.
She must have noticed the house just a few feet from hers, I thought.
"Hey, Dad. Where are we?", she asked concerned.
"We're back, Mia".
"I didn't wanna say anything until we got here but, I guess you weren't paying attention either while we drove", said Mr Hansen.
"You brought me back?", surprised she must've have misheard him.
"Why now?", she asked tilting her heads to the side.
"I understood how detached you were all those years away from the old neighborhood", he pointed out. "So, I figured coming back would do some good", he added.
She barely spoke another word before she was interrupted by the loud shout beside me.
"MIA!", Eric screamed.
Shocking as it was to me. I mustered up the courage to smack his behind but, he dodged and ran. She somehow recognized the voice and asked that she be excused from her dad.
She walked across the street and continued towards where I was sat. It was a little dark and the moonlight was just slowly appearing. In that moment, I warred with my thoughts. "Maybe, I should leave", I wondered. Stricken with the knowledge of not remembering all that we shared in those past times almost overwhelmed me.
"She wouldn't recognise me anyway", I continued.
Then came the moment of Truth. She tried to catch a glimpse of the entity that screamed her name from the shadows. In my head I could hear Eric's giggle, whatever came to mind afterwards was purely the need for revenge.
"Vic!", she gasped.
"Hey, Mia. Long time no see", I said wryly.
Without letting any further formalities get in the way. She embraced me, rather, tightly. I could hear her heartbeat, as she sobbed and whispered something that sounded like.
"I've missed you!".
My eyes glistened. I remained there, unable to hug back and without any intention of saying the same words. However, I couldn't shake the feeling of nostalgia. I always had a problem telling the ones I love what I truly feel. Perhaps, she understood that. Which would explain the stillness, and utter serenity we both felt that night under the moonlight.
Greetings!
Hi, guys.
This is a short story I kind of put together after feeling this compelling need to write. I found myself having some sort of block earlier today, but the feeling came rushing in all at once when I started. Amazing isn't it?
I don't know where this journey would lead. But, I'm as excited about it either way. Glad you could come with.
Thank you for sticking with me.
Until we read again.

The Sting of Death, and the promise of New life.
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/g32g_IBprFA
Date: Tuesday, March 15th.
Mankind, in many lifetimes, have asked deluge of questions. Ones, especially, centered on the essence of life, whether we are here as pawns in the mercy of time, or just some plausible mistake that so happened to come into existence. When we get to the brink of no return, to the doors of death, the life we lived flash by us in an instant. We are born, live life to fulfilment and, in the end cease to be no more. Is that really all that there is?
We have depended on many things. Science, being one of them, and it doesn't have an answer to death. Whether, or not they will in the future, is unkown. If death is a disease, perhaps a cure would have been discovered by now. Sadly, we cannot live by such fantasy. The reality remains. Will we ever be rid of death, and it's deadly sting?
Accidents, wars, sickness and pandemics, has plagued the world for countless generations. People witnessed and fought wars, and were scarred emotionally, and physically in the wake of it's utter rigour leaving many in abjection, and hopelessness. It goes beyond reason that the aftermath of these unfortunate events only leaves in the hearts of men, a *"Sickness unto death!"*. However, in the midst of all, have we played a part to bringing death into existence? If so, when will be freed from the sting of death?
I have wondered why, after, so many struggles and hardship in this life, the end of it all is to return to dust - to cease to exist. You might say, *"what were we brought down here for?", "Do we just get to die after our passage through time?".* A few days ago, I saw a tiny, weakened hen laying on the ground, as if to await it's death. I thought to myself, "How sad". This creature, like every other living organism, on the face of this Earth, continue the repetitive cycle of "New life" and "Decay". A striking quote by the late Myles Monroe on the richest and wealthiest place on planet Earth made me think about a lot of things. Especially, about how much talent and great potential has been buried away never to see the light of day. These were the words that struck a chord in me.
*"The wealthiest place on the planet is just down the road. It is the cemetery. There lie buried companies that were never started, inventions that were never made, bestselling books that were never written, and masterpieces that were never painted. In the cemetery is buried the greatest treasure of untapped potential.”*
Myles Monroe
I can imagine a world free of the heartache of loosing a friend, loved one, neighbour, or colleague. It would be Euphoric. But, Alas! It seemed I have dived into my own fantasy once again and I try to reach for the surface.
A "Hope" to hold.
Image https://unsplash.com/photos/TStNU7H4UEE
According to the Bible, it is already a given that "*it is appointed for man to die once..."*. But, we hold on to the hope of resurrection on the last day. We will be re-united with our loved ones, friends, colleagues and neighbours once again. And death will, finally, be defeated as the Bible states. We would live in a world without fear, war, sickness, disease and death. It is up to us to live a life hopeful for that kind of world. The Bible doesn't contradicts itself. Just as *"it is Impossible for God to lie"*. For He has said:
***Revelation 21:4***
*"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever".*
Words like these have meaning. A meaning we only come to understand when we truly believe that no matter the faults or loopholes that abide now, in the end, there'll be a time to come where we live without blemish.
I'll leave you with these words by Martin Luther King.
*"Everything that is done in the world is done by hope..."*
Thank you for reading.
Until next time.

A child's development.
Lead Image https://unsplash.com/photos/RjCs9ywcnz8
Date: Monday, March 14th.
We all love the idea of having children in the near future. Even in our societies we have, either, witnessed from someone the news of a new born or directly, from within the family, been privileged to hold a baby in our arms as we feel their warmth, tenderness, and fragility. In more ways than one, the emotions that come after is usually filled with an undescribable affection towards them.
The birth of a new born baby is the start of a new life. It is without doubt that we find ourselves taking responsibility and caring for them between the developmental stage - Infancy, and Puberty. A strong emotional bond is automatically created between the child and a Parent, they tend to grow fond of the familiar faces around them as their brain develop.
There are different stages to child development. The stages includes:
Newborn
Infant
Toddler
Pre-School age and;
School age.
Newborn
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/5zp0jym2w9M
This is the stage between the first few Months of birth. In this stage, babies learn about their surroundings. They learn to feel, move, touch, and sense their environment in a way exclusive to them. Some typical examples like:
Learning to hold things tightly in their hands - whether a thumb or, some random play object they come across with.
Smiling back at you for reasons you may not know about, but are somewhat adorable.
Babble incoherently
Waving their hands about and;
seemingly, tracking random faces and objects with their eyes.
Infant
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/p0hDztR46cw
This is the stage during the months of seven to nine. At this point, babies tend to do things a little differently than usual. Because of their familiarity with the usual environment - say, knowing, to an extent, the surroundings especially at home; they become more cheerful, mobile, and also are rather specific with the things they want.
For example:
They may start to react when their names are called.
Recognize and point at familiar objects.
Use words like, "Dada" constantly. But, in a very mumbled way.
Sit upright with little or no support.
Move around by dragging their bellies or legs, whilst patting their hands on the floor and,
Try to pull themselves up to a standing position.
Toddler
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/LEyj9rEBMJg
The last development stage between the months of nine and twelve after birth. In this period one may notice changes in the child's weight, sensibility, and their incessant eagerness to explore. It may become surprising at some point to see how much they've grown to do more for and by themselves, even if it is just slightly. They have outgrown the Stages of Newborn, and infants.
Here some of the likely things they must have picked up in such short period:
Feeding themselves. As a little surprising as this sounds, babies also do some feeding for themselves when you observe them closely. They master what is called the "pincer grasp" - like them holding little crumbs of cereals between their thumbs and forefinger.
Moving while holding on to furnitures.
They begin to play-act, like copying expressions shown on your face. This is their way of bonding and becoming familiar with the faces. (They tend to more of this, isn't that why they are so adorable? **Smiles!**).
Point at specific objects to get your attention.
Pre-School age
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/YfNWGrQI3a4
Babies eventually grow to the age where they start preschool. But, having to make decisions on when to put your child into one is very crucial. One important aspects to consider is to explore every option. Parents who has, one time, been through the decision of when to put their young kids into preschool likely has a sense of what route is best. Exposing them to the structure, social interaction, and learning activities of preschool may spur in them a love for learning, adventure and jumpstart a number of cognitive skills.
School Age
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/CYlPykF-qAM
This is the stage a child is required to attend school. By the age of 5, most children are ready to start learning in a school setting. They start their quest to discovering abilities, developing skills and individuality. They become cognizant with the use of simple, complete sentences usually containing five to six words. Through their time in elementary school their grammar and pronunciation become normal. They learn to make friends and surround themselves with playmates.
Children also develop interests in various activities. So, it is important to encourage them to engage in constructive activities such as sports, club, Art, and Music. At the same time, finding a balance between family time, school work, free play, and structured activities help a child set his priorities right.
Conclusion
*Children are especially sensitive considering their inability to separate what is right from wrong. There's a need to carefully train up a child. Sure, we observe, and nurture them in their early years after child birth. It is just as essential we do our best to do the same even when they reach adolescent.*

A Poet's aspiration.

Poetry are literatures composed in verse and language exhibiting conscious attention to patterns and rhythm. That much is true. There have been notable poets credited for their amazing poems. Some famous names like:
Robert Frost
Charles Bukowski
E. E. Cummings
Maya Angelou
Edgar Allan Poe
William Wordsworth.., amongst many others.
These people created art by connecting us to life's truest essence. They forged a path for future generations to walk through. A foundation so solid and unshaken, enabling young and creative minds build upon what they have set in motion.
I am a lover of good poems. What I write pierces through depths and forms a fine sequence of lasting impression in the minds of readers. I look up to Maya Angelou. Her work, "On the pulse of the Morning", was read on President Bill Clinton's Inauguration, January 20th 1993. She became the second poet in history, and the First African American woman to recite a poem in a presidential inauguration. She, inadvertently, set the pace for poets aspiring to do more, and be more for themselves as well as for their respective countries.
**My Experience being a Poet.**
I write poems. I love the idea of carefully writing the words, the rhymes, and the emotions that comes with it. A feeling that has stuck with me for days uncounted. It is my solace. I have written quite a lot of them. But, somehow I didn't feel the need to show the world what I love doing as I felt I was not skilled enough, or say..., gifted with such talents. However, as time passed, I became emboldened. I sought to put out my work for people to see. I wanted them to know how good I was and, if I wasn't... I wanted to know, nurture and grow with each criticisms and encouragements.
I posted one of those poem not too long ago here. This platform has given me the opportunity to show what I love to do and even, earn while doing it. It is a no brainier I have come to love this space, really. Well, now it is time I give out one other creation of mine.
Enjoy :)
**Beauty Slain**
*May I set mine eyes*
*On the one I yearn*
*Lay to hold*
*The one I crave.*
*May i bask withal*
*in her sweet fragrance,*
*and impress within me*
*the memories of her acceptance.*
*May I fill my mouth*
*with songs in lull -*
*In respite, until her couth*
*Charm drowns my peace.*
*May I relish her beaut,*
*Spotless in a glance.*

Greetings, everyone. Happy Friday! I hope you all are doing well. Another weekend is upon us, so it seems. For some of us, it is about time. It's been a weird week. Especially for me. But, in all, I have kept pushing through and will still do.
I wrote a poem some time ago. A really long time, if you will. I was pondering on the contents - how it was crafted, depicting the sheer desire I had at the time to experience a different world. To feel something different. I write poems in times when I feel sober, or not particularly concerned about anything at all. But, i passionately do it all with a heart driven towards making a difference.
**Here's what I wrote:**
*"I wish to go to a place,*
*where neither pain nor sorrow*
*drenches the soul,*
*and stricken the heart.*
*A Neverland of serendipity;*
*where true bonds are sought,*
*and bitter prejudice are castaway*
*a beast that thrives only on egoity.*
*Were such a place exist,*
*I'd thread through thick and thin;*
*seeking closure and,*
*elope with the wonders that's been."*
Not Loosing my head
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/RlAyvMiQf6k
It was a particular episode in my life when I was trying to sort things out at school, and generally, in life. I didn't wanna loose my head! Anyway, everything that happened from that time to this moment has been... say predestined, so to speak. I believe things happen for a reason. A reasonable amount of people believe this to be true, too. However, we sometimes fail to remind ourselves of this, even though somehow, deep down in us we want to. That's why we hope. We cling to that tiny thread that keeps us midair between facing reality and falling into our very fantasies. So much of this is true, wouldn't you say? Well, that is why we are humans, aren't we?
This is a reminder for me. I chose to write this here. It is important we keep hold of the promises we made to ourselves, to keep the resolve. To focus and look at what lies in front of us. We only have now to ourselves. I learnt that. Sometimes I forget, but instead of mumbling about not following through with it. I, eventually, learn to not loose myself to worry and disgust. So, even with that, I keep at it. I keep keeping on. In the same way, finding those who help keep you on your feet all the time matters for accountability. Because sometimes we can't do it ourselves. Whether it be a Mentor, a Coach or a Guide. We need all the help we can get.
Thank you for reading.
Until next time.

A hot chocolate with random thoughts.
Lead Image https://unsplash.com/photos/BeDY9KuP0sI
10th, March 2022
Early morning greetings, everyone. How shall I go by this random Post? Lots of things to say but, absolutely, no idea what to write, particularly. I didn't get enough sleep last night. I was up streaming the some old movies. It got to a point I got hungry and I decided to treat myself to a warm soup, together with a slice of catfish. It had a wholesome luscious taste and I enjoyed every bit of it, truly. Now, it is 8:46 am. I'm outside my apartment sat on a pavement that leads outside the compound. There are trees in view and the weather is still and peaceful. It is quite the morning, really. I tried to get a few words out to a neighbour but, it seemed awkward. I was lost in the moment considering we do not talk very much. Actually, I don't really hold that many conversations with ladies. It's been a while since then, and I got thinking. How did I become so timid towards the opposite gender? I have tried to overcome that timid part of me but all to no avail.
In retrospect, i have found that the best time for me to really engage with myself is when I am alone with nature. It has always been my solace in times like this. Especially in the evenings, when I just loose myself and bask in it's serenity. I plug in my earphones and play a couple of classic instrumentals. I cannot be separated from my love for music, can I? Most times, I go to a quiet place to do some thinking. But, today i don't plan on going anywhere. Staying at home watching movies, and maybe reading a few articles again should suffice until, I decided to do something else.
This isn't going to be a really long post. I don't do long post, or rather, I'll say I haven't done any long posts yet. It wouldn't be proper when I have nothing meaningful to share and then, the next thing that comes next is to just rant about my worries, and problems. (Not that I am against anybody sharing their experiences or anything of the sort). It is just like that for me. I have this belief that the purpose for writing should serve as a meal to those hungry for experience, entertainment, and information. I would rather not bore readers with something irrelevant, so to speak. However, when I feel the need to share my thoughts about life, there will be a motive - like a means to an end, making people understand whatever it is I write about and in the end, it wouldn't be just a "rant-full" or meaningless post. This I believe to be my raison d'etre.
In that continued state of muse, something so random flashed across my mind. A hot chocolate drink! It was like someone was preparing it not so far from where I was sat. I remembered I had some change left with me. *"But, I don't have to get one for myself, do I? It was not exactly the period for a hot chocolate, right?*" Not a chance! I do want one. I'll go get it when I'm done here. Laughs!
It's already more than an hour and a few minutes before 10 am. I have successfully combined writing here, feasted my eyes on nature, and thought about some random girl issues. Let's say I subconsciously multitasked, sort of. I don't want this early morning peace to end. But, Alas! It will have to at some point. I hope you all are doing something nice this beautiful morning? I will head back to my room now and watch some Netflix.
Thank you for reading.
Until next time.

Dreams for the future.
Lead Image https://unsplash.com/photos/rOYhgmDIOg8
9th, March 2022
Good Morning everyone. Today, I want to talk about Dreams. (You guys wouldn't believe how i, somehow, just thought this up a few moment after I woke up). *Laughs*!
Anyway, I explained some important things, ones you would come to know as you read through. I also made reference to some Articles that explained some subjects I couldn't touch. But, this in itself, is made as informative as it can be.
**Let us engage, then.**
"Dream your own dreams, achieve your own goals. Your journey is your own and unique"
- Roy Bennett
According to the quote above, it is safe to say we all have our own dreams, goals and aspirations unique and known only to us. As a child, we have all dreamed dreams, forged them into the depths of our hearts and determined in ourselves to let each one come to fruition. Of course, there are dreams we have had that may have not aligned with our current destination. However, as important as setting out on a journey is to achieving set goals, along the way the roadblocks only leaves us with challenges that are meant to build us. It becomes an invisible machinery that we equip in order to face, engage and overcome the next challenge.
*"Dreams are not what people see in their sleep. Dreams are desires that keep us awake."*
Dreams fuels us to move forward no matter what, even when we feel dispirited, overwhelmed and disheartened. There was once a story of a boy who had no parents, no friends and was ostracised from his village. His desire to be acknowledged by everyone, and become a great leader kept him going. His dreams were enough to keep him awake, his peserverance brought him one step closer to his dream. Slowly, but surely, after overcoming series of unfortunate events and insurmountable hardships, he made his dream come true.
Sounds like a fairy tale, doesn't it? Well, there are people who have done wonderfully by achieving their dreams and aspirations. It is a story meant to spur you to create your own. Life throughs punches from time to time, we fall, no doubt about it, but we get back up no matter what.
In an Article written by @aminul "Dreams are the inspiration for survival". He explained the importance of cherishing in our hearts the dreams we hold for our future. By walking the path to greatness. Because in truth, the final destination to our proposed future lies greatness and glory. Our unborn generations are counting on us to do what we should. Oh, how glad will we be when we wake up one day, to see our children proud that we took the important steps needed to bring us to the peak of our potential. https://read.cash/@aminul/dreams-are-the-inspiration-for-survival-2779ea00
In all of this there are important things to note in our journey to fulfilment. As written in the Article, "Build Yourself up: Maintaining positivity and Strengthening faith" by @Talecharm the noteworthy aspects to truly walking the path to achievement are carefully thought out in there. One of which is, not dwelling on the negative thoughts or events that only suppress your positive side. It is a wonderful thing to have dreams, to set goals, and be able to achieve them. I'll leave you with this quote I stumbled upon as I wrote my article this morning.
"If you don't imagine it, nothing ever happens at all!".
- John Green
We have ourselves the power of our minds, to create a future for ourselves that we will be comfortable with. We can live in fulfilment. Be purposeful and be in pursuit of your dreams. (This speaks to me more than it does to you - my readers). But, more importantly, I also have you in mind while I write, too.
**Appreciation**
I would like to thank @Talecharm for her sponsorship. I was so elated I got a sponsor. This means so much to me. Read.cash has taught me quite a lot after reading articles of different authors. I will continue here for as long as I can.
Thank you again for the sponsorship.

Hello, everyone. It is Tuesday. Here I am sitted on a chair, thinking, meditating, reflecting on issues of the heart, or anything that comes to mind. Issues that have come to stick with me over time. It is quite early for me to be doing that, that much is true. But, honestly, I cannot help it. I woke up a few minutes ago, say thirty minutes prior to now. I read a couple of Articles of some wonderful writers. While I perused through their fine works, I wondered if I will get as good as them. Usually, when we talk about talent, some people are especially, endowed with them. Things comes to them really easy. Maybe that is how one would differentiate raw talent from hardwork. However, in order to press on in life both hardwork and talent are needed.
Writing comes easy to me. There were times when I found it hard to write long texts, essays, and posts. They say, "you wouldn't be such a good writer without you, first, being a reader". *Paraphrased.* I, unequivocally, agree with that. I have seen writers write tremendously on subjects and various matters centered on array of topics. I am sure none of them have not, for once, disregarded being students of intense reading. They are only able to write when they give themselves to the latter. With all that I have come to understand now, there has been times when I doubted my abilities. Like the one time when I wrote my first competitive essay.
Before I started, there was a constant voice in my head that told me I was capable of competing. Day and night before the deadline to submission via an Email I was not at peace with myself. I said to myself, "If I don't do this, I will regret it". It was so much a drive - a challenge, to myself given the opportunity that lay in front of me than it was a crippling sense of overwhelming pressure. I started out the essay, eventually, and submitted few days to the deadline. I was relieved. Satisfied. That I was able to come out of my shell and write wonderfully. Before submitting, I showed my work to some of my friends, mentors and family members. They were astounded by my well-crafted, and engaging words. It was not more than 600 words. But, it almost made the competitions word count of 700 and no less than 500. "Eureka!", I was happy. Overjoyed that I had discovered something. The winner's prize was not all that important at the time, but the sense of completion, overflowing excitement pouring out from my essence was sufficient enough. (Not that the winner's prize was not extra motivation enough, but still, it was a moment I relished!).
Days passed, and what I wrote still laid fresh in my heart. "My Nigerian Dream", the theme/topic for the competition. (Oh, and yes. I am Nigerian). I went back to my Gmail to check if my essay was received. It was. Now, I expected a response, a feedback from the organisers. I waited for it. Unfortunately, nothing came. Not even a Thank you for participating. I thought to myself, *"Have I sent it to the wrong Email address?*". I checked again. It was accurately sent. There was not a word misspelled. What could have gone wrong! After a Month, still nothing. A few weeks later, i wondered why not a single message was not sent to me. Later I found out the winners have been announced by the end of the competition. I was not even worthy of a message. A short one, a long one. Nothing. *Ah! At that point, I was shattered.*
I had a talk with my best friend. I told her what happened. She was also dumbstruck, same as I. That was it, wasn't it? They never acknowledged my work. I was hurt. Reality was, I expected so much from my work and I got disappointment in the end. Talent did not matter right then, and there. Hardwork didn't as well. Turns out if you do not know anybody of influence in this world, you can't get your hands on what you dream to get most of the time. A sad truth! Anyway, that was a long time ago. It's all gone now.
I remember when I was young, a couple of us kids were asked what our talent was. I had always been fascinated with the Art of writing even then. I could, intelligibly, look at a person's handwriting that appeared beautiful, copy the style, and make it my own. (That was always a fun thing to do then. What brought more satisfaction was the awe it left on the face of those I copied. *Laughs!).*
When it got to my turn, I said writing. Before me, many kids had said somethings like, *"Singing, Dancing, Drawing, Painting".* It felt like I was alone with mine. The woman said to me, *"Everybody writes, it's not exactly a talent. You must have something other than that, don't you?"*. I was confused. Timid and completely overwhelmed. I was put on the spot and was just told that what I loved doing the most wasn't a talent. I couldn't muster up the strength to say anything more. My mind was foggy and my head was clouded. So, the moment passed. Doubt was laid in my heart that day as I returned home.
That was my Stumbling block, an obstacle I needed to overcome. Selfdoubt. It has accompanied me ever since. I was racked with insecurities. I sought to overcome it. To break the Mold. I have been working towards that. Still am! What I read this morning by @Talecharm "Relinquish your Insecurities and embrace who you are" helped me. I was able to think of things differently from her inspiring words. Never to fill myself with insecurities, most importantly. https://read.cash/@Talecharm/relinquish-your-insecurities-and-embrace-who-you-are-2182e671
Closing words
*We are all born for a reason. It is our duty to not let ourselves be taken aback by discouraging words. We should learn to break that Mold. To overcome every hinderance. Because, in all that we think, it actually is doable.*
Thank you for reading.
Until next time everyone.

How could I forget!

7th of March, 2022
Greetings, from me to you wherever you are, in whichever part of the world you are located right now. I, am, still barely awake after having realised I didn't take enough sleep as I should and, worried I must have failed my dearest little sister, yet again. This is the 7th day of the third Month and, somehow I forgot her birthday was 4 days ago on a Thursday, if I am correct. It seemed to have completely slipped my mind when I think back on it. But, to have not, even, remembered four days after is utterly unacceptable! I failed her, again, for the umpteenth time. Right now, I am starting to feel bad for how silly I am right now. Would it be possible that somebody so important to you who having a birthday celebrated and, you just happen to forget. Not once, or twice. I'm talking multiple times. This is the Third year in a row. My goodness! I made a resolution each time I got reminded by my parents, and often times I feel ashamed. How could I have forgotten?! Unbelievable, really.
Now, I have to make it up to her. I am making it a big deal, because I shouldn't, as the elder brother, be forgetting my little Sister's birthday. That is just so wrong. I should be doing better. Come to think of it, I have failed to remember on three separate occasions now, due to the fact that I have been away from home on those said times here in school. I may have been preoccupied with school work in the previous two occasions but, this one is totally on me. I, still, didn't remember when I should. I was not exactly busy last Thursday. I even called home and, it did not cross my mind. Not in the slightest! ***Sighs***
Sad thing is I wouldn't be going home this week either to make amends. I will have to find a suitable gift in order to appease her. I owe her something for sure. Maybe, if Mom had just mentioned it on the phone I would have wished her a Happy Birthday, at the very least.
I am not really good at remembering things. For some reason I don't know of. That was how I promised to get a gift to a friend one time, and only realised I have messed up at the night of her celebration. I hurriedly gathered, what I would call, a ***"sorry present"*** for someone I esteemed dearly. She was so sweet to not see my faults and thus, overlooked my shortcomings. I really thought I had learned then. Little wonder why I don't like making promises anymore when I know I might fail them. That's why journalling is so important to me. In case, I need to remind myself of something later in the future.
My friends wouldn't understand why I write on my journal. They, usually, think I'm a child who doesn't know how adults do things. I ask them, "How, exactly, do adults behave, then?" while my eyes glint. They just dismissed me. That's laughable, isn't it? Some friends they are! ***Laughs!***
I have to put all that aside now and look forward to an exciting week. I will be starting a fascinating project soon with a dear friend and, my presence here may be reduced slightly because of it. I, low-key, am not thrilled with having to be away from here a while. But, it'll only be for a few. I will still be writing though, I'll be dropping a few things here, and inconspicuously, interacting with you guys when I find time. (Not that I want that. Because I have come to love it here). Hopefully, my friend and I land the contract in order to start working as soon as possible. I just have to remain as coolheaded as I have always been, no? Haha!
Yesterday, was great though. Except, Man U lost which was the only blemish to it all, really. I knew they were going to. Anytime, I go watch any of their game they always find a way to disappoint. Not that I blame them, they were no match for Man City's dominant attack. Games like those make you wonder how far the gap between teams are. In terms of dominance and prowess. My team is just beginning to gain their footing after suffering injuries in vital positions. (I support Chelsea, for those that don't know yet). However, may the best team win the Premier league Title this season.
Thank you for reading once again.
Until next time then.

Sundays, Stories and Events!
Source https://unsplash.com/photos/UYNH5VCsYPU
6th, March 2022
It is 11:35 a.m. The weather is just fine, as expected on Sunday mornings. Not much to do considering I'll be at home all day, except something really interesting happens or, I get a call from a friend to go to a fun place before dusk. (Which I do not see happening, in the slightest!). A few days ago, he invited me to go swimming. I was excited at first but, later I found out he was going with his girlfriend. You should have seen my face when he told me. It's not like I don't like her or, anything. I just don't get comfortable being with or tagging along with someone when I know a girl is involved. I said No to him and he was like "okay". He, prolly, must've thought I'm a huge disappointment and a killjoy. But, he wouldn't understand. So, you see he wouldn't be inviting me to any place in the near future. :,-)
I already ate. It was not exactly a random thing I decided right out the top of my head to do at first. I was hungry, so I heated the remaining beans I had cooked last night on my gas cylinder. Afterwards, I saw a movie - Captain America and the winter soldier. It was quite a watch. Wait, it is not strange I am just seeing the movie, right? Because it was released since 2014, at the time when I was still in High school and me seeing it now, probably, means I haven't heard of the movie for that good a time to this present moment, no? Yes! I have heard of it. And I just decided to watch it now. Nothing strange or weird there at all. I have not done any exercises since the break of dawn. I usually do a stretch, push ups and sit ups to keep the shape with a motive in mind. ***Whispers*** "I am actually doing it so girls would not just like my pretty face alone, but they'll come to see how manly I am in due time". That's the only thing that keeps me going. ***Giggles.*** Don't quote me, just kidding. Laughs! ^_^
Anyway, I have been keeping an eye on my recent activity here and I must say, I have been doing so little interacting lately. My Apologies! I haven't been particularly busy, I have just been strangely lazy. I don't know why. Maybe it's one of the moments for me, maybe not. However, I wouldn't like to continue in that manner. I have to engage and interact and read articles and stories and anything related to something in that order. Speaking of which, I came across @meitanteikudo stories from a couple of months back when I logged in some minutes ago, and it's been really fascinating to get a glimpse into Jeremy Goldstein's world. You can also enjoy the stories and watch each episodes unfold like you're actually reading a Manga by, simply, reading the intro article here: "The (Not so) Perfect world : intro". I am in the second episode, at the time of writing, interesting stuff so far. (If only it can be adopted into a Manga). ಥ‿ಥ https://read.cash/@meitanteikudo/the-not-so-perfect-world-intro-5378ccf3
It is great as it already though. Now, my Sunday is already replete with intriguing events, one of which I have already mentioned. Another is the Manchester derby that kicks off later today. I would, wholeheartedly, be supporting the red side of Manchester. I can't say I am particularly psyched to see the match because of what happened last time out when, after, siding with them I was sorely disappointed. I wanted them to win and they lost quite badly. Don't get me wrong I am a Chelsea fan through and through, I just want Man U to win today just for rights, you know what I mean? ;)
Anyway, I'll be going back to continuing Jeremy's story now. I thought I'd just write something today so you guys would know what I am up to. I hope you're all having a fun weekend. Shout out to @JRamona20 I trust you are having a great time with your family. Resting, and gearing up for another bustling week. Haha! Sorry. I hope you're staying safe, too? And you, my wonderful readers and friends, I trust you're all fine, too?
Until next time, guys.

Bonds of Sacrifice II: Parenthood

5th, March 2022
Happy weekend, guys. Are you all having fun and unwinding from the week's hustle and bustle? Well, I am sure you are. Today I would like to talk on a different topic, although, it is a continued series from the last one I wrote on "Bond of sacrifice: worth of friendship". I figured writing something on parenting should be... say, in order. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/the-bond-of-sacrifice-worth-of-friendship-0ce6f34f
At some point in our lives we have depended on our parents, whether we relied on them for clothing, food, and other necessities that comes as we grow. And, they've done such incredible job seeing to those needs. That is one the responsibilities of being a parent, wouldn't you say? To be able to cater for your child's needs. A very important part of the many things still left to be done, excluding the provisions and whatnots.
What is Parenthood?
It is, basically, the state of being a parent. We all can agree that parenting means raising a child from their moment of birth until they are old enough to tell the difference between what is right and what isn't. However, some people hold the belief that the job of a parent is never complete in the life of a child. Considering the fact that when we are old enough; wherever we go, whatever we become and no matter how mature we appear to be. At a certain age, or, stage in our lives, our parents always remain a huge influence that cannot be replaced. That belief, in itself, is true.
As younglings we look up to our parents for different reasons. One of which is because we haven't grown enough to make decisions for ourselves. We listen, obey and adhere to every instructions even when our young minds wouldn't comprehend the weight of the responsibility that they shoulder. They always act as a shield when we are weak, and an anchor when we are unstable.
Let us talk about the three important stages involved in parenting a child. *(Mind you, these are just carefully thought out aspects I think are necessary to raising a child)*. The first being, the **caregiver stage**, the second being the **mentoring stage** and the last, **Advisory stage.**
Caregiver Stage
As I mentioned earlier, there will come a time in the life of a parent when they see to all of the child's needs. They take care of each and every detail. When a kid gets older, they begin to think of the next step which is enrolling them into a school. Now, this is also very important. Especially, when figuring out what type of school to choose for your child. It is not bad to ask questions about these institutions. Because, in truth, you should. Knowing the right environment to put your child into is crucial and it shouldn't be something to be thought of recklessly. Plan through these things thoroughly because your child wouldn't be doing the thinking themselves and your role in all of that is to be there.
Mentoring Stage
As important as caring for a child is, there is also a time to mentor and coach them. Every child needs the guidance of a parent. Children are naive and they also make mistakes. Teaching them what to make a priority is essential, and it would be helpful to them when they get older. The scriptures even attest to this.
*Prov. 22:6 "Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it"*
- New Living Translation
Advisory Stage
This, in part, is just as similar to the stage where you act as a mentor and a coach training your kid in the way he should go. But, one vital thing to note is that at some point adulthood always creeps in when they get to a certain level, typically, around the age of 18. It is the most challenging stage for a parent. They act as a counsellor to and for the child. They might choose to heed your advice and other times they do not. But, when they need a word you are always available for them, you are ever there to give one to them. At this stage you have transcended the caregiving, and Mentoring parent that you once were to a counselling mother and father. Love them regardless of their fault, and error, because truly if you do not no one else would!
Conclusion
Parenting isn't always going to be easy. The true value attached to understanding and patiently going through the emotions that comes with being a parent is Love. You know in your heart you've truly loved your child whatever might happen and your blessing remains with them forever.
Thank you for reading, guys. Until next time.
Happy weekend. 💐💌
Unwinding from a busy week!

Hello, my friends. We have come to the start of an end to a mixed week - this is truer for me than anybody else, if I say so myself. However, nothing is ascertained, yet. We can always welcome a weekend full of vibes and fun, yes? Absolutely! Allow me to make a recap of my previous article/post during the course of the week.
So, Monday started off in a rather slowly. I thought hard of what to write and I decided to discuss about something most people don't take seriously. My post about "My unseeming oddity for the concept of Marriage", seeked to lay to waste an old notion that all marriages were not bound to prosper. However, I came to a change of heart - a change of belief, so to speak. Regardless of what I intended to pass across, if we were to take decisions regarding something as delicate and sacred as "tying the knot" we should not be reckless about it. It is better to wait, think and plan carefully than to rush things and crash when you finally take that ride. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/my-unseeming-oddity-for-the-concept-of-marriage-ade976fc
Tuesday was sort of a surprise to me. I stayed home all day wondering where my life was headed. I, usually, do that most of the time and I filled my thoughts in my journal. I wasn't sure I could put what I thought here because I felt people do not always want to hear of the sad stuffs that happens all the time. Focusing on the good stuffs, and entertaining people with discoveries and adventures is what is sought and anticipated these days. Not that I am speaking for everyone when I say putting too much ills and bad vibes out there in that regard is bad, but I found that it wasn't healthy doing it all the time whichever way you think about it. However, it was fun writing to J.D. (I, sort of, named my journal J.d. I alone know what that means, pardon me). Haha
Soon after, I realised "My phone is giving me problems", which I spoke about on Wednesday. I wouldn't wanna call it a rant or me just expressing my anger. And yes. I was angry with it. I wanted to change it so bad. Still want to! But, I'm calm now though. I want to use this medium to thank @Balikis for her endearing comment. And @GarrethGrey07 for recommending a Xioami 8 product to me. (I have checked it out and I think it's a wonderful device). Thank you guys again. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/my-phone-is-giving-me-problems-f8fbc7b2
Yesterday, was all about the "Bond of Sacrifice: worth of friendship". I spoke about whom to choose as friends and the worth of a true friend. Friendship is a gift! We all know that. Getting to ride this life with someone we hold special is more than just a privilege. We, simply, cannot decide to live alone in this world. Making connections with people and doing well to note their importance matters as well. May our eyes be open to knowing those who we should trust, and care for. Amen! https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/the-bond-of-sacrifice-worth-of-friendship-0ce6f34f
Many people look forward to weekends. We hold them special because we get to lay off work for a while and recharge our batteries. We choose what to do in these two off days. For some of us, it's watching football with our families. Others go on movie nights, dance clubs, travel, do other sporting activities - like playing basketball, tennis, golf, and soccer. Video games isn't left out too. I have said before that I love video games. I'm not a gamer, but I play for the fun. Especially when I get to whoop my friends asses in eFootball! Laughs. (Oh, that sounded weird honestly, it should be Pro Evolution Soccer but, the developers decided to change the name for some reason). I am going to miss the old franchise that I grew up loving. Hopefully, this one brings lots of excitement to players like the former did.
Thank you for reading, then.
Until next time, guys.
Hugs! 🤗

The worth of Friendship
*Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them but they are always there.*
Christy Evans
I stumbled upon this quote online while I read through my G-mail messages this morning. Afterwards, it felt as though my thoughts came alive and, were gradually forming words to shape the construct of whatever it is I wanted to write about. I had a different matter to talk about. Something was dormant in my inner self waiting to burst into life - like a bubbling Brook always refreshing and ever clear.
Friendship is one of the best gifts to happen in the life of any individual. Especially, knowing the fact that not much is gotten from life if once in a lifetime you do not experience the beauty of loving, caring and trusting a person; one whom you're proud enough to call a friend. There are bonds that comes whilst being in a relationship, and so is true for Friendship. Is there ever a contrast between the two? My belief is such bonds are always destined to evolve. Whether such relationships leads you a path where your journeys become intertwined in destiny with shared beliefs - achieving set goals, dreams and worthy experiences. You alone get know with time.
It is always a privilege to live life for others; a true test of humility and sacrifice. In an article written by @zellypearl "Found in Friendship", she profoundly wrote about being intentional about the true friends you keep close. Those beliefs come to stay with us as we learn the worth of friendship. As we learn to know more about life and the intricacies ridden with the knowledge of not making it alone in this world. https://read.cash/@zellypearl/found-in-friendship-d1a5f866
We, as humans, are not self-made in the real sense. At some point in our lives we have had friends who gallantly stood by us in perilous times and, with their help, have walked beside us through those difficulties. For some of us, friendship found us. My case was not so different. My first year in the University could have been a disaster. I was a shy type. (Still am!). In a foreign city where I wasn't comfortable being myself, the reasons are still unknown to me now that I think about it. It was just a few days after I arrived. The weather was hot, students usually queued up to get their forms signed and I was begining to detest not only the harsh conditions but, the sheer lack of concern for the very tired crowd.
On one particular day, in the faculty where I was supposed to sign different bio-data and registration forms. A guy walked up to me and asked what my name was. It felt weird that having not known who i was, he wasn't scared to introduce himself. (Not that I had an unapproachable dont-come-near-my-dwelling look or anything). Lol. He was just the complete opposite of me. Straightforward, loquacious and he always waved at passerbys whenever we walked. I was so uncomfortable. Lol
My point, however, is that from the moment we spoke we've bonded like none other. We shared dreams, and aspirations. With him I could be the best version of me. Once I told him, "my bar is always raised whenever I'm with you, and I found that our friendship is a healthy one". We encourage and spur each other on, every single step of the way. He is an Anchor - always helping to keep my head on straight and challenging me all the same.
You can find someone like that, too. Maybe you also have someone like that already. Who knows? I know. You do. 😄
Conclusion
*Let's let ourselves care, love and trust someone. We never truly know when we leave this world. We may be feeling differently about a lot of things in life with the weight of uncertainties going around, but knowing who matters to you and building relationships would incredibly be just as fitting and helpful for your sanity.*

Hello read.cash community. It is a New Month and may it be one filled with joy for you and your family. With many endless opportunities. I want to thank @TheRandomRewarder for visiting my previous posts, most especially ***"******My unseeming oddity for the concept of Marriage!"***. I also got encouraging comments from you fine people. Guys like @Balikis for her endearing words in my last two articles - ***"I got it all wrong"*** ***,*** other comments from people like @Ellen-he and @JRamona20o were encouraging as well. https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/my-unseeming-oddity-for-the-concept-of-marriage-ade976fc https://read.cash/@VinceCharlie/i-got-it-all-wrong-723ea171
A New Month, like I said is usually filled with endless opportunities we just have to be Keen, in ourselves, to be aware of them as they come so we would not miss out.
I have set goals for March which includes, engaging more articles and posts, improving my writings on future subjects and giving out useful information thereby earning more as well. But, it would seem my expectations will be cut short with an unfortunate turn of event. It is, quite, sad to know your tool for work is underperforming. In this case, I mean my device. Before I got this device It seemed like I was disconnected from the world at large and that everything was moving so fast. Eventually, I ordered it via my Dad's and when it came I was super excited. However, at that moment, I noticed it lacked some specifications required to work properly. And, Alas! I was disappointed.
I sobered up and said to myself that it wouldn't be as bad as I think. So, I thanked my Dad for helping me get it. Fast forward to this moment, and i have had enough with it's slow performance, constant lagging and weakened Battery life even recharging the device takes up to 6 hours until full charge. Because of it I was not able to read as much as I wanted yesterday. It is frustrating, really. Now, I know I should not have ordered for a phone without knowing fully well it's pros and cons. Just like how @Jopix404 explained when he also got a phone that was not his desired device in a post, **"Check before you Purchase"** but, the sad truth for me is that I cannot return it to whom it was purchased. That thought alone is tearing me apart because I need to work. https://read.cash/@Jopix404/check-before-you-purchase-6e104abf
My power bank has been the only life saver, without it I don't think I would be spending a lot of time here. But, with it I am enabled to boost my phone's battery to a reasonable extent. If only I had a Laptop, too. I will be out of the dilemma I find myself stuck in.
After having searched out other options online- carefully this time, I have found a suitable one for my needs, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 11s, it has an amazing processor, and long lasting battery life. It has become my dream phone. I just need to earn more BCH and work hard to be able to afford it.
Hopefully, by tomorrow, I will write about something more interesting and with less rants. I want to continue with read.cash and you, my friends. I hope my Phone doesn't hinder me from doing the thing I love the most, Writing.
(I would also love to hear about what device I should consider in the comment section).
Thank you for reading. 💐💝
My unseeming oddity for the concept of Marriage!
28th, February 2022
**Source** https://unsplash.com/photos/YeJWDWeIZho
There is a simple definition for the word Family - They are a group of people related by blood, for example., a set of parents and their children. We were all born into a family. As we grow we tend to love and care for them and they in turn do the same. That is a veritable fact! There are others who haven't been shown the affection they need from their immediate families or loved ones but, that is not what this article focuses on. Like the old saying goes, "there is a time and place for everything". That bodes true for whatever work you set your hands to do - and in this case, it bodes true for this hand-typed article.
I have lived with my parents for many years. I have watched them make decisions for the good of the family. I have seen how they cater for my brothers and sisters. How they sailed through hardships, celebrated many highs and suffered difficult lows. One thing remained constant in all of these seasons, however, their unwavering bond. At some point, it felt, somewhat, illogical how a Man and a Woman would live the rest of their lives together even in insufferable times. The concept of Marriage as derived in the English Dictionary - *"is a union of two people, a Man and a Woman that creates a family tie and carries legal, social, religious rights and responsibilities"*. This stood out to me as cliché as it was beyond reason for my frail mind. I could not stand the thought of being with a person for too long, much less forever. I was young and inexperienced. Maybe, I still am. In an article written by @Tartasbags, "***Making a successful Marriage***", it is important to learn the reasons we decide to dive into marriage as making a reckless decision could be costly. https://read.cash/@Tartasbags/making-a-successful-marriage-5c7fd262
Those stream of thoughts shattered as the years went by. My parents were the living witness I sought so hard to find amongst my many quest for answers. Sounds ironic, doesn't it? My upbringing wasn't short of the affection, love and warmth of a parent. But, somehow, I was instigated to think differently of something, that has been a gift to me, by an unknown thought pattern. The realization of such silliness broke every bit of belief that Marriages weren't bound to prosper. Perhaps, my consumption of the negativity that flew around concerning the subject matter drove me into countless overthinking. It was as glaring as seeing a ray of light flash across the sky in the break of dawn how that most supposed "lovers" who, from the outset, set out on a course slightly bigger than they knew as they were simply not ready, yet. Therefore, causing them to crash into an icewall leaving them Frozen and spelling the beginning of a, rather, tragic end to their little institution.
I didn't understand the fact that as much as I wanted to be with someone - a person I could Love and cherish with my very soul; I was also warped in a false belief, a wrong notion that is not entirely the case. I scribbled down the names of my unborn kids on paper and would fantasize of the same love and warmth I'd show to them. Just as my parents did me. As time passed, and as I engaged the writings of men and women well advanced in years and wisdom. I broke free from that initial illusion.
Love is a wonderful thing and Marriage is a gift from God to us. My initial falsified perception made me break my first relationship. Not because I hadn't enough money at the time to cater for my girl, because that alone would've spelled only a little truth - a half truth! But, I was scared we would end up repeating the same cycle. Regardless of the failed relationship we remain very good friends. A wonderful lady with aspirations, full of life and dreams.
Now, I am glad I was born into a family that knows the worth of care, hospitality, dedication, and sustenance from our Creator.
Conclusion
Marriage is a thing of delight to those that choose the right person to live a long, fulfilling life with. Not a load of despair and sorrow that leaves only cracks in the hearts of who gets victimised by divorce - cos in truth, that is what it leaves them with whether they choose to believe it or not!

Happy Sunday, everybody. How was your day today? I trust it must've been better. Sundays are usually the times when you rest from a long, stressful week filled with all sorts in between. It's the time to be with your family and just stay back and relax.
Recently, I have been thinking on the things that were important to me. How I should be more aware to what really matters. It's been a long and hard reflective moment. However, in the process, I got stuck and it raised further questions. Of which I haven't any answer to. Survival is, without a doubt, of the upmost importance. In order to live through a world filled with many uncertainties I reckoned I should learn to steer clear of what would cause harm to me mentally and emotionally. It would only mean I chose to make my Mental Health the priority.
When I joined read.cash it meant I would finally have an opportunity to polish my writing skills, to get to understand the values attached to doing what is right - and in this case, that means doing what I love the most. Learning has never been a one way street. It is either you are on the recieving end of an information or vice versa.
My motives were, in a sense, innocent and that whatever happens next would all come easy. Just as it should be, right? Wrong! It matters what you do in any situation you find yourself in. I learnt that firsthand. By being determined to sail the waters that has never been uncharted and not giving up until you get to your desired destination. Without this being the major drive, your efforts would seem futile after you get the first few hits along the way. Bridges will burn, storms will come, disappointments would set in at some point and darkness would cover your path. But, would you be willing to sit still just because of a few setbacks. Like I said before what you do afterwards really matters.
I will keep this in mind on my journey to actualising my dream. Because I'm the underdog in this story of mine. The generations yet to come are counting on our performance, decisions and efforts now. A time will come when we'll wake up and look back at the decisions we've made whether they are good, bad, lacklustre, or intelligent. Truth is it's a complete mystery.
My time here as been worthwhile, really. In this space you get to read refined articles that covers wide range of topics, and engage in countless other posts by commenting and interacting. I was made aware by my friend @Kristofferquincy how important it is to be consistent here. Today, was an off day. I wasn't able to read articles as I should because of my flat phone. I am only here now because the small amount of time I got to recharge.
Speaking of, I got to see today's game between Chelsea and Liverpool. It was an intense one. From the moment the match started until the last kick of the ball in the penalty shootouts. My misery was piled up and an awful out grew in my tummy. As dumbfounded and disappointed as I was, I couldn't bring myself to cry. It was more than just a game! Maybe I would've felt better if we had won. But, things don't always go as you want them to, do they? Although, I appreciate the kind wishes from @JRamona20 @Balikiss @Chelle18
I hope I come out of this deep worry. I am not tired as it is. But, at the same time I just feel strangely frail. That must be because I have not filled my stomach with food since I had breakfast this morning. Haha, yeah! I think that must be it.

Good evening, everyone. I'm saying Hello to peeps like @Kristofferquincy, @Khlea97, @Oliviaqueen, @Balikis, @success.1, @Lixten , @the_northstar @Tomiajax, @Oikawa, @cogamedia, @sequoia, @remona , @Chelle18 @JRamona20a , @Jelena , @Garrethgrey07, and so on..., It's been a worthwhile stay here reading, learning and earning. Thank you for making me feel well adjusted to the family.
It's late in this part of the world. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend? I, on one hand, am psyched about tomorrow in particular. You might ask, "why's that"? That's because I'm a football fan. I support Chelsea Football club. And, the sheer excitement coursing through me right now speaks much of it. A cup final is a privilege. Or so to speak, an opportunity for any Club supporter to witness yet another cup glory win. Whichever team you are a fan of, in any league in Europe, or wherever. It's always fun when you celebrate with your team. However, performances in any said competition boils down to preparation, morale and tactical nuances. Wouldn't you agree? But then, I'd have to attend service at church before the game later at dusk.
My weekend began with my normal routine. I engaged in a slight exercise. Had breakfast. (Which took a little longer to prepare due to me cleaning the environment). To watching Anime, Black Clover. (I'd sure have enrolled into a yoga class if there was one around. Haha.) Anyway, all that happened from that moment to this time has just been the usual. I got to see a few of my friends today, though. We played video games. Talked sports, movies and so on. So, now I'm back in my room eating dinner and trying to fantasize about tomorrow. Weird, right?
Moments I wouldn't take back
I started supporting Chelsea football club aged 9. I remembered being a fan of Manchester United the year before but after a frustrating defeat to Arsenal that year I decided to support their London rivals. Trust me it was not hard to change that easily. I was a kid! I didn't want any heartache. As fragile as little children are they can be molded into something greater if they had someone they look up to. I wasn't short of that. My Uncle supported the Blues at the time, and with him and a couple players I cherished I was motivated... I pretty much had it easy back then. The enthusiasm was glaring. And I was back to loving a team again. Fast forward a couple of years later, and I wouldn't change a thing.
Other sports I love
Growing up Football was my first love, but I quickly developed interest in Table Tennis back in High school. The sport itself requires a much more calculated approach in figuring out your opponents style. A little more than soccer. (I guess). Quite impressively, I learnt how to play after watching professionals on TV and a couple of friends who were really good at it. I quickly mastered some techniques and became better after a while. It took me a few weeks to learn. Then, I began squaring off with my mates. Those were some good times.
It wouldn't be entirely strange if I said Basketball is another sport I so want to be good at. Actually, it all started with an Anime I saw last year. Kuroko no Basket, a rather, interesting anime for that kind of sport. I saw how players learnt to master certain techniques in order to be the best for themselves and in their country, Japan. My most preferred position would have been the POINT GUARD - they are, usually, the shortest of the five basketball positions on the court but possess amazing ball handling and distributive skills. However, with an height of 6ft 2, I'd probably be made a SHOOTING GUARD. Just maybe. I'm still learning how the whole sports rules and whatnots works.
It's been a great day, plus I think I'd drop my pen for tonight. Sleep is gradually creeping in. I hope you all have a nice weekend.
I want to appreciate @Kristofferquincy, @Khlea97, @Oliviaqueen, @Balikis, @success.1, @Lixten , @the_northstar @Tomiajax, @Oikawa, @cogamedia, @sequoia, @remona , @Chelle18 @JRamona20a , @Jelena , @GarrethGrey07 once again for their warmest welcome. Thank you so much.
**N.B** I'd, definitely, talk about the game tomorrow. Hopefully, my club come out tops. Wish us luck! 🤭
First words... What to write?

Hello, dearest friends. It's been a wonderful experience here so far. I've learnt a few things since I got introduced to this platform. It's been swell, really.
It's dusk in this part of the world. And here I am trying to think of the perfect words to use to describe the utter serenity I'm feeling at the moment. Just a moment my headphones battery went flat while I listened to Novo Amor's Anchor. Now, I'm just feasting my eyes at the wonderful scenery on display in front of me. [If only you guys could see this, right now?]. Smiles... :)
The birds are chirping away, and the leaves rustles with every gentle breeze. It's the perfect evening!
My Friday experience
I have never been an outgoing person - especially when most of my friends talk about outings they look forward to, or whatever said events they are psyched about. It's not been a thing for me. I'm an indoor person. Always been like that. However, today I decided to do something for a change. Even when I constantly had home at the back of my mind. Lol.
Having fun out is never a wrong thing, it especially helps us to meet and interact with people. See new places and so on. And boy, am I glad I went here. It's been awesome.
Places I'd love to go to
During the times I travelled, I usually get nauseous. Each moment on the road felt awful because of it. But, recently, I realized it was because i subconsciously affirmed that any journey I embark on was going to end up being the same abhorring outcome. Well, I said toodle-oo to that mindset, and it helped. Now, I am gradually getting to see the fun side of traveling.
Here are a list of places I'd love to go to.
The Nike Art Center:
It's got a fantastic art gallery with tremendous pieces of art on full display. Whenever I have time to visit there. I definitely would. Cos who wouldn't?
Elegushi Royal Beach:
The beach has always been a place I've wanted to go to. Talk about a place for relaxation. One more stop in my long list of to-dos.
It's gotten quite dark now. A fun day well spent. From starting the day doing upper body exercise, to leaving home and exploring, and finally playing video games with familiar faces. I'll be retiring to bed hopeful for a fantastic weekend.
To think I didn't know what to write in the very beginning. Now I understand that everybody always has something to draw from, something to write about. It doesn't matter how you feel at that particular moment, you always seem to know what to do when you, eventually, pick up your pen to write on your notepad. In a way, it helps us to direct our thoughts and improve our mood. A major reason why I find solace in writing whenever I feel down and out.
Learning to carry on
I especially remember the time when I needed to get a breather. I was alone, and burdened with a lot of responsibility that it seemed that I would be crushed under it's heavy weight. (I learned that everybody, at some point in their life, go through hard times). I became less concerned about a lot of things. It happens when you are at the end of your rope.
I didn't get over it alone. I took my time trying to get around the fact that with everything that's happened I also deserve a life free of burdens and regret. Someone really dear reminded me I wasn't alone. Speaking to her felt exhilarating at first. I was refreshed. My heavy heart became light. I could see things differently. Her inspiring words triggered something. It brought a light. I held on to that, I'm still holding on. It's a great thing to have someone who supports, listens, and encourages you to carry on.
Most people think reaching out has been overstated. That people shouldn't voice out whatever, and thus they should remain in that downward spiral of retrogression. Perhaps, when the time comes they'll get to heal and move on. Unfortunately, that may be too late. Maybe it has to be overstated. The world wouldn't get less burdensome. It's a fact! Prioritising our Mental Health is key. It's our responsibility to remain sane. That's what helps our mind. True happiness lies in focusing on what really matters. Deep down we search for what it means to be happy. The answer has always been there. Right under our noses. We just fail to see it.
Last words
*It's important we know what truly matters to us. My first words mayn't been thought about from the outset. But, like I said we only know what to write when we start. Coincidence? Nah! ;)*
*May we not lose sight of what matters.*
Thank you for reading. :)

Hello, everyone. I'm charles, a male (obviously, laughs), age - 21. I'm really excited to join the read.cash platform. It's even more awesome to get to meet new people, learn and grow with each passing day.
I'm not a man of many words, (like so many of friends like to say), but I paint my world with words written on paper. It's my way of being expressive, to be more than I am without uttering a sentence. My hobbies include playing Video games - soccer, most especially. Writing. And seeing movies.
I hope to have a wonderful experience here. I, especially, wanna thank @Kristofferquincy for introducing me to this platform. His, rather, extensive explanation on how read.cash works were helpful. It's safe to say I can navigate through here reasonably well.

I know I must've said a few things about my hobbies as it can also be classified as such. Regardless, I think it's just as important I talk about some of them.
I like journaling my thoughts on my notepads. As it helps me think and meditate on matters concerning myself and those around me. And as time goes on I may be able to share a thing or two with you fine people.
Poems is another essential part of me. They not only are what I call Art. But, each lines and wordings I use or read about are food to my soul, engaging my inner self to explore the worlds unbeknownst to me.
Music is life to most people. I'm included in that bracket, too. Because, a life without music would be unbelievably bleak. The genre of music that appeals the most to me is Indie, with amazing artist like Novo Amor, SYML, the Hollow coves. Not forgetting Blues, country music, and classical music; they are just as great. Over the years I've listened to amazing artists, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez.
Animes, my absolute beauty. My great love for anime started with the very first episode of Naruto: Enter Uzumaki Naruto way back in 2012. I stopped for a while until I made up my mind to revisit it years later. Naruto Shippuden was a blockbuster. I loved it, my friends loved it. Since then, I've gone on to see many others like, Kuroko no basket, my hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Avatar - the last Airbender (even if it doesn't classify as an Anime). Lol. Black Clover. (Still on it though).
Earlier I stated my fondness for soccer, and that's just me being timid. (I wonder if I get to be that right now, does it even make sense?.) Lol. If I had a chance at another life i would, definitely, live to fulfill a dream in playing professional football. I support Chelsea Football club. My idol is Cristiano Ronaldo. But, i think Lionel Messi is the greatest football player to Grace the footballing world. (Not many of my Idol's fans would agree, but it's okay). I love that they love Cristiano. That doesn't mean I think less of him or anything. He's just as great a player, too. A phenom in his own right, if you will.
I recently started reading comic books, too. Not that I decided to do that on my own. Lol. Solo leveling is/was my first ever comic book. I got to say, it was amazing! Talk about the thrill, suspense, and action. I can't wait for the anime when it, eventually, gets released. Perhaps, after a little while I'd follow up with Martial peak. Who knows, maybe, it'll also be a fun read.
Dislikes
I shouldn't actually be disliking or hating on anyone or anything - not that I hate anybody in particular, smiles. However, my major dislike is seeing people think less of me when they haven't even met with my charming personality. (Yeah, I know. That sounded serious and funny at the same time, but Alas! It's my truth).
Special shout out to people like @Bmjc98, @Garrethgrey07,@Lucifer01, @Aimure, @Mictorrani, @sequoia, @Ellen-he, @Kiingsley, @Jramona20, @Misz_BotipolJen_07@justmyrambles01, @Lucifer01 and so on.
