I went early to the doctor's clinic this morning only to be welcomed with "Sorry. We are closed." notice at the door. I was fortunate though to find the secretary and she booked an appointment for me tomorrow.
So, after dropping by at the store to buy some stuff I headed back to my house to finish some tasks.

-HAWAIIAN MENUDO-
I decided to stay at home the whole day since the rainfall continues until now.
So, going back to the challenge posed by @Chucha, I chose to cook for my loved ones a simple dish that was prepared with extra love. That way, I made their heart so warmed with delight because they are so especial.
I named my recipe "Hawaiian Menudo" which had nothing to do with Hawaii or whatsoever. It just occured to me since it consisted mostly of vegetables.
Meat:
pork, hotdogs
Vegetables:
potatoes, carrots, turnips, green peas, bell pepper, raisins, pineapples
Then, I added a scoop of liver spread to the base sauce of tomato paste for that additional earthy flavor.
Hence, everyone was pleased at the table.

Saturday GOAL
Good morning, my dear friends.
I was thinkin' of my probable goal for today as I was munching on these boiled bananas for breakfast. Still sleepy though because of the weather.
My friend Chucha invited me to join her challenge of making a certain goal that would keep your day a meaningful one and post it before the end of the day. Don't forget to tag her and additional five (5) people that you would like to join the said challenge. So that's the simple mechanics.

🅟 is for PANDA
Craving for some foods? It's just a click away nowadays through an app. I'm glad that Food Panda is now available in our place. This online food delivery service saves me from inconveniences of going to and waiting in queue at the restaurant just for some burgers and pies.
But, the contrary on the part of the assigned food delivery rider. He sent me messages of excuse for availing my order too long, like half an hour? Well, I understood his situation. It was not his fault though. I knew that in a fastfood chain scenario like that you have to bring a lot of patience with you for some unexpected delays.
Anyway, got my snacks all ready. So, let's eat. 🍔

I passed by this improvised handwashing area by the gate at a government arcade. I noticed that it was dry because of its irrelevance at this point in time. I realized that it's been almost three years since the onset of the horrible pandemic. We've been battling against it. And now, we survived. That's really something to be thankful of. I hope that we may never forget the many good lessons learned from those experiences with Covid19 especially the prime value of human life.
Covid19 would become a salient part of human history. On a lighter side we have something to tell our children that it once became a part of our lifetime.
With due respect to those who had lost in such battle a sincere prayer for their eternal repose and divine consolation to the bereaved families. 🙏

Another day has passed in this side of the globe.
After my errands were done I dropped by the mall to buy some stuffs. And since there was enough time left I decided to amuse myself by exploring the biggest shopping center in town.
I found this 'Library on Display' in one of the floors. I was not sure of the purpose by such appealing exhibit. But, I guess it was to promote literacy especially among the younger generations. I remembered my high school years when I used to spend my vacant time in the library to the extent that I joined the Library Club as one of my extra-curricular activities. That favorably influenced my fondness for books and reading.
Additionally, I've seen some Christmas photo booths, a giant Christmas tree, and other decorations.
That was a fun-filled day, indeed.

There are different names for this particular snack food. In Tagalog it is called Ginataang Bilo-bilo or Ginataang Halo-halo. But, we simply call this as "𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙣" (sweetened) in our vernacular. It is composed of root crops like cassava, sweet potato, taro roots, and cooking banana (cardava). On top of that glutinous rice balls are added. Then it is cooked in coconut cream with sugar and pandan leaves or shredded ripe jackfruit (optional) for some aromatic flavor.
Now, let's eat while it is still hot. 🥄

Just finished with my work. I was staring at this exotic red flower in the Capitol's garden while waiting for my documents to be processed. I remembered that earlier this day the BCH had its alarming steady dip.
However, that scenario is not unusual for a crypto currency which is known for its volatility. The key to survive the situation lies in being disciplined on handling one's emotions. So, he or she can respond accordingly at the proper time.
Then the last time I checked, BCH is recovering little by little again from its plunge. See, that was what I meant.
Anyway, this flower seemed so familiar to me. I thought I've seen this already from someone's post. So, I'm right. This is a Red Passion Flower, indeed.

It’s quite a day, my dear friends. Before I say goodbye I would like to thank everyone for bringing such presence in my page today.

As a Christian believer I realized how fleeting a life can be that every time I go to sleep there could be a chance that I would not see the dawn of the following day. I am only a poor pilgrim on this earth who has no power over every breath that I take. Hence, I should not take for granted the “Last Four Things” that the Church has taught me namely: Heaven and hell, death and judgement. The last two (Death and Judgment) are inevitable for each human person while the former (Heaven and Hell) depend on how the person lived his/her life according to God’s grace.
However this may seem frightening I ought not to be taken aback but rather keep my trust on that immense mercy of God whose love never fail so that I can look forward with joyful anticipation to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, I would like to end this short article with the Night Prayer taken from the Breviary.

The Quintessential ADOBO
Hey there! Are you ready for lunch?
Just wanna share with you what I cooked for lunch. I gathered all the available leftover pork meat from the fridge and prepared a simple dish called Adobo. I remember that some arguments were raised by concerned citizens last year about the "standardizing the basic cooking technique for Philippine adobo." Whew! No comment.
Well, I think this recipe of mine would fairly qualify for that. I only put all the basic ingredients, except what? Sugar? Never mind. I am just fond of venturing on fusion cuisine.

Just this early morning I was surprised to see a full blown hibiscus by a different plant. Surprising, isn't it? I found out that an inconspicuous stem of hibiscus plant beside another plant had its way out amidst its foliage and produce a flower. That's it.

A moderate rain has been continuously falling this afternoon and the sky got even darker. My hot cup of black coffee and sweet sticky rice cake will surely beat this chilly weather.
By the way, 'Sinukmani' is our local name for 'Biko' or sweet rice cake made of glutinous rice, coconut milk, anise seeds, and brown sugar. We garnish it with latik or ground peanuts sometimes.

A Flower for You
Nope, I did not pick this flower from someone's garden as you might have thought. It is actually a food, a candy.
I retrieved this photo from my gallery. This reminds me of my former confrere from Iloilo. Whenever he comes back to the priory from his home vacation he used to bring us this special delicacy from his locality. It is a candied unripe Papaya fruit sliced thinly which then formed into a flower. It had a little yema at the center for added flavor.

Double Noodles
Howdy, my dear friends! What's up for lunch?
At my end, I'm just done preparing my stir fried noodles -- flat pancit and vermicelli together. There were not so much vegetable in the market so I just added cabbage, chayote, and carrots. I put a cup of sliced pork also for a meaty flavor. And of course don't forget the seasonings like soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, salt, pork broth cubes, black pepper, and a little sugar. Now it's ready. 👌

My uncle and his son arrived in the morning to visit the tomb of my grandparents. They brought Suman Aroyo which my auntie had cooked as 'pasalubong'. Then, we went together to the cemetery after lunch.
Fortunately we're already back home when the rain started pouring. Now I am having my snack of black coffee and Suman Aroyo. This kind of delicious rice cake is a native delicacy in my uncle's district somewhere in Camarines Sur. It has a semblance with that of Tikoy (another kind of rice cake).
Maybe some of you from Bicol are familiar with this food.

Flowers, Candles, and Prayers
Getting ready to pay our respect to our departed loved ones. I bought some bouquets of flowers and candles to bring in the cemetery later which is about ten kilometers away. We used to visit their grave every Nov 1 and offer some prayers, flowers, and candles. Many Filipinos on the other hand, prepare food also which they share with other relatives who visit the tomb. 💐
