Shocking Events In My Native Ukraine

• Hi friends. Unfortunately, my mood is sad. In the last article I told how much I love Ukraine, how proud I am of it, and what wonderful traditions, language and beautiful nature we have.

But in our country our neighbors do not allow us to live happily. We have been in Ukraine for 7 years since the war in eastern Ukraine. Russia waged this war. But Russia has not officially acknowledged that it is at war with us. In 8 years, many of our military and strong patriots have died.

But Russia is small ..... On the morning of February 24, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine along the entire length of the common border and from the territory of Belarus. Ukraine is fiercely resisting.

During the 5 days of the war, the Ukrainian military bravely defended Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, and explosions were heard in Kherson, Zhytomyr, and Volhynia. Rockets were launched from Belarusian cities in Ukraine today, one is known to have died. It seems that soon Ukrainians will have to defend their lands not only from the Russian but also from the Belarusian army.

Where they attacked

On February 27, a missile strike was fired from a military unit near Vladimir in Belarus. Iskander missiles from Belarus were also launched in Zhytomyr. Another missile fired at Kyiv was successfully shot down by our military

The Ukrainian military is defending Kyiv and preventing the enemy from breaking into the capital. During the shelling of Bucha near Kyiv, one of the rockets hit a nine-storey residential building. The situation is also tense in Chernihiv, where on February 27 Russians aimed at the city council, children's and adult dentistry, administrative buildings and high-rise residential buildings were affected. Meanwhile, in Kryukivtsi, Chernihiv Oblast, police and civilians stopped Russian tanks without firing a single shot.

The battles for Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kherson that day were unsuccessful for the Russians: the Ukrainian army repulsed the enemy, who suffered numerous losses. There is information about explosions in Kherson and Kharkiv. In particular, enemy vehicles were able to break into Kharkiv. The head of the local regional state administration said that Kharkiv was under the control of the Armed Forces, and whole groups of 5-10 Russians were being taken prisoner by the Ukrainian military, throwing equipment in the middle of the road.

The Defense Ministry said that in three days the Ukrainian military destroyed more than 700 armored combat vehicles, 150 tanks, 27 aircraft, 26 helicopters, 50 guns, 30 cars, 60 tanks, "hail", as well as more than 4.5 thousand attacking Russians to our cities. Near Okhtyrka, the Russian military shot dead a bus with civilians. In the Zhytomyr region, unknown people fired at a police car - two policemen were killed.

During yesterday's fights for Nikolaev two patrolmen were lost, 5 more are wounded. According to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko, 16 children have died in Ukraine during the four days of the war.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has announced that the EU will close its airspace to Russian airlines, finance arms supplies to Ukraine and ban pro-Kremlin media. Putin has ordered the transfer of Russia's nuclear troops to a special regime. He justified his decision with alleged aggressive statements by NATO officials. In my city, on the first day of the war, the Russian military fired missiles at military airfields. It happened in the morning, but thank God we are calm now.

People are suffering from this war. Russians are attacking and shelling homes, killing innocent children. Women with children are starting to go abroad to save their children, but there is a long queue. People can't cross the border for several days, they go on foot. Young children are cold and suffer from it.

It is unbelievable that my country is in such a hell. Our military is holding on bravely, fighting hard. They created territorial defenses in each city that defend their city. Those who do not have weapons in hellish battle use "hammer cocktails". I am proud of my heroes and Ukraine, who stand boldly. 🇺🇦 The Ukrainian people will never forgive Putin for this genocide There will never be an excuse for this. We will win and rebuild every school, every kindergarten, hospital and home. And the Russian soldier who took up arms against the civilian population of Ukraine will remember his shame to the last breath.
