Where Does Income Come From?

How do you earn your income?

For sustaining livelihood, we all have to work and earn some income.

• The other day, one blogger commented, "I am badly searching for a job."

• Job doesn't mean a full-time job. It can be a part-time or a freelancing gig.

Whatever the source of income is, the source should NOT be an evil one.

• We can earn an income in multiple ways.

Let's discuss where your income may come from.

Income comes from your core skills.

The main source of income may likely come from your core knowledge.

• So, put serious effort into enhancing your skills around your core knowledge.

• Core knowledge comes from studies in high school, college, and university.

If you are privileged to get the opportunity of attending academic courses/degree programs, try to utilize every bit of it in all possible ways.

Don't neglect your academic studies, and waste time on social media.

Income may come from a subject of your passion.

Sometimes, income may also come from a subject of passion.

• For example, someone professionally qualified as a medical doctor may also make a career in music, literature, acting, filmmaking, sculpting, painting, etc.

• One of my LinkedIn connections from India, Rajeev Raja, who has been in the business and marketing industry for many years, started a new business by mixing his hands-on expertise in music and marketing.

• Rajeev's company, Brand Musiq, created a musical logo, or "Mogo," for many international brands, including Citibank.

• A successful medical doctor from Kolkata, India, Arko Prava Mukherjee, recreated his life in the Mumbai film industry as a music director and singer.

• Respected filmmaker Kamaleswar Mukherjee is also a practicing medical doctor. His film on African safaris, Chander Pahar, and Amazon Obhijan earned colossal success and money.

It may seem to be incidental and some sort of luck, but all those successful people pursued their passion with equal spirit as they dedicated themselves to their professional core fields of academic studies.

Income may also come from investment.

Some people take a huge interest in investments, such as the stock market, cryptocurrencies, real estate, etc.

• In their early years of college, I have seen some of my students spend time on the stock market, cryptocurrencies, and many other investment avenues.

• The investment sector is full of risks and hype.

Some people are making money and are happy.

• Acquired assets can bring future gains to the table.

• So, the income can increase from investing in assets.

The core skills can bring seed money to the table, some of which may be invested in various money-enhancing instruments like acquiring assets, etc.

Income can come from the monetization of content creation.

• Content creation has become a popular choice for many people.

• Almost every person in society can try content creation.

A professional programmer, executive, investment specialist, actor, comedian, medical doctor, academician, researcher, homemaker, social worker, etc., and whatever profession you may talk about, have a prospect in content creation.

• You can create text blogs, audio, videos, and a mixture.

• The key is to promote your content creation on the right platform and to the appropriate audience.

• However, like all career options, earning by content creation is not easy and doesn't happen in a month or even a year.

It requires hard work, dedication, and a solid strategy to publish content.

Bringing it altogether

We all have to work and earn some income for our daily livelihood.

• A job, employment, or a career doesn't always mean a full-time engagement.

• Income can come from part-time or freelancing gigs.

Whatever the source of income is, the source MUST NOT be an evil one.

• We can earn an income in multiple ways.

Let's find out the ways we can add an income stream to our lives.

Sunday Confession of October 23, 2022:

• Recently, I wrote an article about ghostwriting as an earning stream.

• I was hesitating and was putting fractional efforts into ghostwriting.

Finally, I could complete another writing gig in cybersecurity on Upwork.

• The created research document satisfied the client, and I received the payment.
