The Twitter acquisition showed a business gamble to the world.

Nobody could guess what Elon Musk implied by carrying a sink inside the Twitter headquarters. Nevertheless, almost everybody in the social media circle was somewhat happy when the Twitter deal was completed.

As a learner of entrepreneurship, I am confused about what perspective should Twitter acquisition be looked at. Is it a business gamble or a business development?

I cannot comment on what a successful entrepreneur would do with their money, specifically if it is their hard-earned money. I find it hard to believe that Elon Musk is a successful entrepreneur!

The current Twitter owner is reckless.

  • Elon's actions after the Twitter acquisition seemed to be aimless. He fired the CxOs immediately after the completion of the purchase deal.

  • According to news headlines, Elon laid off almost fifty percent of the existing staff members of Twitter! The staff members are now too scared to stay on Twitter!

Now, a big chunk of Twitter employees is in a resignation mode of action after observing such reckless laid-off drive of the owner. It is also in the news that the owner might have requested some quitters to rejoin Twitter!

Did the Twitter owner have any specific plan?

Undoubtedly, any big tech company like Twitter needs the best of the best talents to lead it to a succeeding path. But Elon is doing?

Did Elon have any specific plan before purchasing Twitter? May be true, or may not be true. People only can guess. It is all inside the mind of the proud owner.

Whatever be it, Elon's reckless gamble with Twitter employees compels us to think that he may have abysmal people skills! It is hard to believe that he is one of the top successful tech entrepreneurs!

Will Twitter be soon in RIP status?

  • Since its acquisition, the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, seems to be too impatient in believing the existing staff members of the company. He fired the CxOs and laid off almost fifty percent of the current employees.

  • The Twitter acquisition may teach Elon a harsh business lesson in life. He is young, and there is ample scope to correct the mistakes and improve. People can only hope.

I saw numerous Tweets with the hashtag #RIPTwitter and similar.

One of my long-time LinkedIn connections, David Grinberg's Tweet yesterday, took me to see those Tweets.

Tweet source

I still believe that Elon Musk will have peace of mind to rethink his decisions, will deliberate with the existing Twitter employees, and deliver an improved Twitter to the world.

Conclusion

Is Elon showing the world how to take a big loan, buy a big company, and experiment with managing it?

Postscript

I am not getting any idea what Elon is trying to achieve.

If he had to fire more than fifty percent of the employees, what did he buy Twitter? He could have created a new social media with a new mission and vision.

That way, he could have saved his money and cooled his unwanted agony of correcting an old system.

I strongly feel people with Parag's tech skills and money can create a good tech business instead of working as a servant (CTO or CEO) under any big corporate.

Sometimes I think Elon acquire things just to show to the world that he has the power to. I recently read that he took a loan for the acquisition and he's to pay a sizeable chunk every year which explains the paid verification. He sacked a lot of people, a lot resigned...he's just doing things because he can just as he did with Doge Coin which has no use case.

He's all about experimenting...you got that. He's always doing that.

Sadly, it looks like Twitter has met its end. Elon is preoccupied with monetary concerns. He doesn't give a damn about his employees; after all, the people, not the boss, are what make the firm successful.

Too much nonsense coming out from him after taking over the Twitter. He is a great Entrepreneur but here I am not impressed by anything at all although it's still to early to judge this. But he is acting like an arrogant King. Will wait for 5 months more to say over his handling with Twitter as he must have some good plans for it.

The sad part is that an arrogant business owner may destroy a business with drastic experimental actions and put good employees into uncertainties.

I guess it is RIP Twitter. There could be alternative ways but he went a shortcut. Those employees would know the weak points, they can go to another competitive company

Most Twitter employees might have enjoyed a salary without work, and some worked very hard. It is tough to detect who is a worthy employee and who isn't.

The common users gave social media companies their private data free of cost, and they are enjoying it. Will Elon give the large common users something for their personal data? Then, something unique may happen.

So that mean the decision for firing those employees wasn't good but not bad either.

That is an interesting and logical question. Will he?

I don't think Twitter will disappear because it's a good tool for control where people can complain instead of going out... and now it's working even with less the staff. But we will see how this experiment continues...

Twitter acquisition and the functioning of the new owner will be good topics for business management courses.

They say Elon is a very smart man. Maybe being too smart could have its own weakness sometimes. Anyway I think Twitter was overpriced by Elon and since he has realised that, he's desperately exploring alot of options to recoup those billions even without thinking about the downside of his decisions in the nearest future. Whatever will happen to Twitter in the nearest future, we live to see

Everybody wants to win new business gains and earn more revenues with less expenditure. Elon is trying to do that and nothing else. He has his limitations, and people have big expectations. The only thing that the excellent and diligent employees must not suffer for the reckless and lazy employees! The new boss must have a good sense of business intellect to detect who is worthy and who is not.

Elon worries about money, which is why he laid off so many employees. How would you expect him to spend money to add new developmental work on blockchain technology?

I am not a fan of Twitter for the past year I am on Meta and Youtube, but this year ago I got into tweet and all the things it's all about crypto. I think Elon just wants to be messed up; it was really not that thing for him to have that. Rich people who don't know where to spend their money so he brought lol.

A successful entrepreneur may sometimes get overconfident. Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube are doing the same experiments on the common mass. The common mass has to find alternative platforms or create innovative ways to get their dues.

For Elon, it seems to be just like enjoyment. It was great to see the top trending in trending option on Twitter and easily can understand whats going on right now in the world. But anyhow its his own platform let's see what is happening next!!!

Like most other billionaires, Elon loves making money. They use their money to get HUGE bank loans! Then, they use that money to buy money-earning businesses!

I read somewhere that most of these social media have created HUGE fake accounts to show to the advertisers to attract sponsors! We, the real humans, look at the HUGE number of stats and join those social media! The sponsoring consumer businesses then sell their products to us!

The whole business world is playing with their customers and advertisers with fake stats!

Nothing good has happened since Elon Musk bought Twitter, but I sincerely hope that this is not the end of Twitter. It has been around for many years, and it would be a shame if it vanished overnight. It is a significant part of history.
