Tweet Tweet Poor Blue Bird
The Twitter acquisition showed a business gamble to the world.
Nobody could guess what Elon Musk implied by carrying a sink inside the Twitter headquarters. Nevertheless, almost everybody in the social media circle was somewhat happy when the Twitter deal was completed.
As a learner of entrepreneurship, I am confused about what perspective should Twitter acquisition be looked at. Is it a business gamble or a business development?
I cannot comment on what a successful entrepreneur would do with their money, specifically if it is their hard-earned money. I find it hard to believe that Elon Musk is a successful entrepreneur!
The current Twitter owner is reckless.
Elon's actions after the Twitter acquisition seemed to be aimless. He fired the CxOs immediately after the completion of the purchase deal.
According to news headlines, Elon laid off almost fifty percent of the existing staff members of Twitter! The staff members are now too scared to stay on Twitter!
Now, a big chunk of Twitter employees is in a resignation mode of action after observing such reckless laid-off drive of the owner. It is also in the news that the owner might have requested some quitters to rejoin Twitter!
Did the Twitter owner have any specific plan?
Undoubtedly, any big tech company like Twitter needs the best of the best talents to lead it to a succeeding path. But Elon is doing?
Did Elon have any specific plan before purchasing Twitter? May be true, or may not be true. People only can guess. It is all inside the mind of the proud owner.
Whatever be it, Elon's reckless gamble with Twitter employees compels us to think that he may have abysmal people skills! It is hard to believe that he is one of the top successful tech entrepreneurs!
Will Twitter be soon in RIP status?
Since its acquisition, the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, seems to be too impatient in believing the existing staff members of the company. He fired the CxOs and laid off almost fifty percent of the current employees.
The Twitter acquisition may teach Elon a harsh business lesson in life. He is young, and there is ample scope to correct the mistakes and improve. People can only hope.
I saw numerous Tweets with the hashtag #RIPTwitter and similar.
One of my long-time LinkedIn connections, David Grinberg's Tweet yesterday, took me to see those Tweets.

I still believe that Elon Musk will have peace of mind to rethink his decisions, will deliberate with the existing Twitter employees, and deliver an improved Twitter to the world.
Conclusion
Is Elon showing the world how to take a big loan, buy a big company, and experiment with managing it?
Postscript
I am not getting any idea what Elon is trying to achieve.
If he had to fire more than fifty percent of the employees, what did he buy Twitter? He could have created a new social media with a new mission and vision.
That way, he could have saved his money and cooled his unwanted agony of correcting an old system.
I am not sympathetic to Parag Agrawal, the ex-CEO (Nov 2021 - Oct 2022) and ex-CTO (Oct 2017 - Nov 2021) of Twitter. However, we happened to be alumni of the same academic institute, i.e., the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
I strongly feel people with Parag's tech skills and money can create a good tech business instead of working as a servant (CTO or CEO) under any big corporate.
