Students must be taught about business and entrepreneurship

What are the options the passing-out college graduates have?

The first and most preferred option after passing out of college is, of course, a job.

  • The students are always advised to study hard and get high grades.

  • They are fed the notion that higher grades can give them easy jobs.

Every college student expects to get a job after passing out. But everybody can't rank the top positions in a class! The top-ranking students generally secure decent jobs in campus placements.

<> Unfortunately, all passing-out students don't get suitable placements.

Are there enough jobs available for all the passing out students?

  • The answer is no. There are not enough job vacancies to accommodate all the passing-out college students around the globe.

  • Even then, most colleges advertise about 100 percent placement which is false!

The very few top-tier elite colleges might be able to get all their pass-out students places, but not all second and third-tier colleges are able to secure placement for all the graduating students.

  • Those college owners fool the guardians at the time of admission.

  • The students and the parents get the actual information after completing a few semesters in the early years of study.

When the students learn that job vacancies are always much less than the total passing out college graduates, they get frustrated.

So, what is the solution to solve the acute job crunch?

  • Students must be taught about business and entrepreneurship from their early high school days. Business and entrepreneurship must be in the high school curricula.

  • Academic institutes and the teaching community should also be interested in entrepreneurship development. Only then will the situation improve.

  • There must be active participation by the local governments with appropriate startup workshops and funding for developing entrepreneurs and businesses.

Please comment if you have any specific suggestions about incorporating business and entrepreneurship curricula in high schools.

Conclusion

  • There are not enough job vacancies to accommodate all passing-out college graduates worldwide.

  • I understand that the high school curricula in the US, Canada, and other developed nations have already incorporated teaching curricula in high schools.

All national governments must take active steps to include business and entrepreneurship teaching school students.

I will definitely agree with the conclusions you've made sir.

Now a days, it is very difficult to secure a job even you are a degree holder. That is why starting up a business is a better option.

Creating a business is very much essential for generating jobs.

I think doing a job is over-glorified. Everyone talks about doing a good job and living a dream job. After finishing academic studies, when people get a job, they understand reality. If someone is happy doing a job, that's great.

Doing a job is not the only way to make money. People can start a business and make money. By the way, if someone thinks doing a job is difficult, starting a business and making it successful is way more difficult. Having the right mind is very important whether you do a job or business.

Yes, an entrepreneurial mindset should be nurtured from early high school days.

Exactly, our child's orientation must not be to just to study and find a job, but also to start a business or be financial literate at least. It is already a norm nowadays to find a job after graduating in college, still, despite the job vacancies, the competition is high. If students can have other options of earning aside from finding a job, that would be business.
