I was thinking of what topic to write about and lucky for my I came across @JonicaBradley article and prompt challenge. Well if I check well I believe this would be one of the first prompt I would ever hop on. I and it feels nice.
So let get straight to the writing prompt topic "Snow"
Snow is a natural phenomenon that most often occurs during winter in colder climates. It is caused when water vapor in the atmosphere condenses into tiny ice crystals which fall from the sky like rain to the ground. Snow appears white when it compiles on the ground.
As a kid, I grew up getting fascinated about snow, I love the way everywhere is painted in white. I think I grew up loving winter and snow because of how it is closely related with Christmas. Christmas fall in winter season in most European and american countries.
I always daydream when I was a kid, about going out in the snow. Spending hours outside, making snowmen and snow angels. I guess this a result of watching too many too many foreign movies
Unlike Jonicabradbley who experience winter first-hand, I've never had the chance to see it.
I live in the tropics so I have never had the chance to see what winter looks like neither have I experienced snowing, all know about winter or snowing is from what I watch on TV or pictures and videos, especially Hollywood Christmas movies.
Why it doesn't Snow
I always wonder why snow doesn't fall in my country. I remember asking my Dad when I was still a kid about how snow come to be and why we don't have snow here in the tropics.
I remember my dad telling me because our temperature is so hot, and we are close to the equator.
As I grew up I came to know more about climate especially when I did geography in high school.
Well for those who are like me who keep wondering why snow doesn't fall in some certain part of the world especially the tropical part, like most countries in Africa.
Here is the answer;
It's all thanks to the Earth's tilt. The tropics are the regions closest to the equator, and they experience year-round heat because the sun is always shining directly overhead. The poles, on the other hand, are far from the equator and experience cold temperatures due to the Earth's tilt.
The weather in the tropics is too warm! Note that the higher the temperature, the less likely water droplets are to form and turn into snowflakes. In the tropics, the average temperature is about 80 degrees Fahrenheit (27+ degree Celsius) which is too warm for snow to form.
In conclusion
Maybe as a result of movies I watch I always feel there is something so magical about snow. I hope one day I would be able to experience snowing. It looks so beautiful in pictures and everyone seems to love it. I grew up in a place where it never snowed, so I am really excited to see what it's like.
Weather is one of those things that we all have in common. No matter where we are from, we all experience it. We all have our own opinions about it, and we all love it or hate it.
I grew up in a tropical country, so I'm used to the weather being hot and humid all year round. However, I've always loved the idea of experiencing snow. Maybe as a result of movies I watch I always feel there is something so magical about snow. I think it's so beautiful to look at, and I love the feeling of being in the cold.
I hope one day I would be able to experience snowing. It looks so beautiful in pictures and everyone seems to love it. So I am really excited to see what it's like.
Whether the weather
There's something about the weather that just seems to capture our attention. Whether it's the brisk cold of winter or the heat of summer, we can't help but be drawn in. And it seems that we're not alone in this fascination – many people from tropical countries are just as drawn to cold climates during the winter.
It's a bit of a mystery, but there's something about the cold weather that seems to fascinate us all. Maybe it's the challenge of braving the elements, or the peace and quiet that comes with a snowstorm. Whatever it is, we're sure that the weather will continue to be a topic of fascination for years to come
We are the same and I am dreaming of going to places in Asia that has snow :)
