I am sure we all know this already. That everything that has life will someday die. Life and death are part of a cycle that has been going on for as long as the universe has existed.
Death, in general, is the end of the individual life. The end of life is most commonly characterized by the permanent loss of brain function, i.e., when an organism can no longer respond to its external environment due to injury or disease.
The death of a loved one is the most devastating experience we can go through, but it is a part of life. Everyone has lost someone dear to them.
Death is always an uncomfortable subject to talk about, and when the subject comes up, we often end up with awkward silences and restless looks. Losing a loved one is hard, and there is no way to prepare yourself for it.
There are some people who try to avoid thinking about death because they fear it might bring bad luck. Others try to forget about death completely. There are many people who believe that as long as they don’t think about death, they won’t have to worry about it at all. However, trying to escape from death for too long can have a devastating effect on various aspects of your life.
In any moment especially when we think about it we feel fear; fear of death and fear of losing loved ones to it.
In the blink of an eye, life can be taken. Loved ones lost, gone forever. It can be hard to accept the reality that our time here is short. For death is inevitable. It is something we will all face, whether it is the death of a family member, a friend, co-worker or even ourselves.
The reality of death can cause us to spend our lives in a way that makes us feel as if they aren’t enough. There is always going to be someone who has accomplished more than we have. Someone with more wealth and money, a better career, or a cuter apartment. We are constantly comparing ourselves to others, but doing so distracts us from enjoying our own life.
When we think about death, or the potential for it, time tends to slow down.
We look around at all of the things we need to accomplish and, whether it’s consciously or unconsciously, we start to panic; because we realized that only now is the only time we have. Now is the only thing that is real.
It is a fact that every single thing on this planet is going to die one day. We are not here forever, and while it can be saddening in a way, it can be a good thing.
Life can be painful and difficult and it is not always easy to accept this fact, but if we can, we will never take anything for granted. We will never waste a day. We will wake up knowing that the sun could very well set on us tonight and keep rising knowing that it could just as easily never rise again.
But there is something that we always forget: death is a stage of life, not an end but another step towards our destination
