We celebrate our man

To be celebrated is an opportunity. To celebrate is a blessings.

Birthday is not celebrated everyday. It's once a year and every year is a blessing. That is why we should not forget to celebrate it with the people in our life. Celebrating birthday is not about the food we get to have. How lavish or cheap it is. But it's a about how genuinely happy we are in that day. Celebrating as a way of giving thanks to the Lord Almighty Father for another year. A year full of life, health and blessings. A year with so much to be grateful for. A birthday is a day to show the people of our life that they really matter. That they are valued and loved. A day that is not known possible to happened and will still happen in the future. So better not waste the opportunity to celebrate it.

To celebrate another year of our man's life is so much more of a blessing. Happy happy birthday to our dear Papa for his 53rd birthday. We don't have so much preparation for the celebration it's just a simple one but the happiness is so much more than the food in the table. The smile in our face and the good health that he had is everything for us.

Early in the morning I wake up by the cheerful greetings of the people in the house. I am just listening with them while still laying in my bed. I have decided to wake up in bed because in few hours my student would be coming.

Meanwhile Papa is busy marketing the ingredients for his menu. He listed few menu that would fit from his budget. A pancit, menudo, sinigang, rice cake, and a ginataang Pato. I never thought he would have such menu because I knew he don't have any good earnings in the previous days. But with the grace of God, he was able to made it possible. He actually sell cut bamboo ready for fencing and some firewood. He also had some earnings from husking few coconuts. I am a bit guilty for not buying cake for him but good thing my brother bought a delicious cake for him. I am happy to see him make his wish and blow his candle.

We decided to gather for dinner but we did not expect and even had a sound laugh together realizing that the celebration started during our lunch. The family gather for lunch. Papa cooked some pork sinigang and we enjoy eating together. During snack time, mom bought some bread and we ate it with pansit that Papa get to cook at that moment. I told Papa how I like his birthday because it's a very nice celebration for we get to celebrate it spontaneously. Until dinner arrived. Few friends came and an extended family of my sister-in-law came too. They actually came with some food and drinks as well. They also had a videoke in a small Bluetooth speaker and a mobile phone through YouTube. True enough it's not lavish but the good sound of there laugh is enough proof that they are happy, we are all happy.

Papa is our rock. He is our strong threshold in the house. I am so proud of him being a responsible and hardworking father. He is so much more than what I can see of him. Celebrating his birthday today is such a blessing and an opportunity at the same time. A day to thank the Lord for another year of his life full of love, grace and health. Together with the close people in our life. Some friends and extended family members.

I love our man. We couldn't imagine life without him. He is one of the very reason why I keep on fighting this life and every struggles that comes with it. He is worthy of a life that would compensate all his hardworks. I want to give him good life soon. I hope God allows me to do that.
