Learn the Art of Timing
One of our speakers at our conference earlier this morning discussed the importance of mastering the art of timing. At first, I find the subject overwhelming, but this quotation captures my attention.
"Always project patience, as if you are confident that things will work out for the best. Learn to spot the trends that will propel you to prominence by becoming a detective at the right time. Learn to wait until the time is right to act, and to strike quickly when the moment is right. Never appear to be rushing. Hurrying is a sign of lack of self- and time-control."
Then, as I think about my life, I see how crucial time is. From the discussion, I have learned the following:
-Be aware of the power's ebbs and flows.
- Recognize when it is appropriate to join the right side, and do so.
-Wait until the right time when you know you'll gain a long-term advantage.
- Become an expert when it's time to finish out an adversary; strike without hesitation.
The right timing is essential when pursuing power. You must be able to spot the right opportunity to take advantage of shifting circumstances. Always be aware of the warnings and side with the good guys. But just before the pendulum swings, be prepared to switch again.
Apply these guidelines to live and prosper when others are swept away:
Smell the change in the air: Be aware of the undercurrent and what's happening in society's periphery. Instead of supporting a vanishing past, search for fresh leaders and movements.
Be ready to ride the reactionary wave: When a new movement gains traction or a new power ascends to the throne, be prepared to ride the reactionary wave.
Remain calm and patient: When things become hectic, maintain a low profile and wait it out until you can spot the excellent opportunity when it presents itself again.
It takes emotional restraint to wait, and If you know your competitors will stumble, it is wiser to wait for them to act first. You can wait and gather the fragments. The secret is cultivating a clear awareness of how our feelings might distort how we see the time. Observe how chaotic, uncontrolled emotions frequently cause the sense of time to be distorted. Instead of being in the present reality, it pulls you away from it and into your thoughts.
Taking the long view has several benefits:
-You can see further into the future when you're not operating in an emergency or crisis mode.
-You'll be able to withstand the deliberate provocation of others.
-You can be more adaptable and in a position to seize chances along the way that you would otherwise miss by not taking your time.
-You can follow a deliberate approach by carefully finishing each stage before going on to the next.
-You'll be less influenced by emotion while making long-term decisions.
Mastering Time
First, you can look farther into the future when your mind is not constantly preoccupied with emergencies.
Second, you'll be able to avoid becoming another impatient sucker by resisting the temptations others put in front of you.
Third, your degree of flexibility will increase. Unexpected opportunities will inevitably present themselves that you would have missed if you tried to move too quickly.
Fourth, you will only proceed to the next contract after finishing the prior one. It can take years to lay the basis for your power; make sure it's solid. Don't be a one-hit wonder; the only success that endures is the success that is built up gradually and steadily.
Last but not least, slowing down time will help you get perspective on the periods you live in, allowing you to step back and envision the future with less emotional intensity. Hasteners frequently perceive only what they wish to see, mistaking external events for actual trends. It is always better to be truthful, regardless of how uncomfortable it is or makes your job more difficult.
In life, there are times when we must stop and ponder before acting. Always keep in mind that time is the one resource you will never get more of, thus learning how to manage it effectively is not only effective but also necessary.
Good evening everyone! How are you guys?
To all my friends and readers out there, thank you so much for your unending support, God bless you all :)
