Aren't we all addicted?
Habits are things that we've grown so used to that we always do. I was watching a series the other day and a guy said "when we do things once, they may go unnoticed, twice it may be over looked but the third time it becomes a pattern". If I'm to add one last bit I could say the fourth, fifth and sixth time, but becomes a habit.
Habits as defined by the English dictionary are actions that are performed on a regular basis.
When things are performed on a regular basis, they become part and parcel of us with time that we no longer strive to do them or think about how to do them or even the pattern in which we do them. All of these become a part of who we are so much so that at any point we are called to do them, we carry out the deed flawlessly.
When a habit has become so regular that one can no longer stay without doing that deed or action, it can be called an addiction.
As intense as the word addiction sounds, it is not only limited to intense things such as smoking, kidnapping and high way robbery. The most little things such as taking cold water, using phones or other gadgets or taking a soft drink always can be classified under addiction.
moderation is needed in all that we do and when things are done too much, they tend to yield or bring about negative results.Doing things moderately every now and then helps eliminate the chances of becoming addicted.
As much as we may say we are not addicted to hard drugs, there may be other things worse than drugs that we engage in that can cause harm to our body that we just don't know about. This is why moderation is twice as important.
You may not be a drug addict, but I put it to you that you're addicted to one thing or more
Conclusion
I guess when one is addicted to good deeds like bathing regularly and fighting crime and reading alot, these can be accepted by all.
But cases where the ripple effects are detrimental and negatively inclined are frowned on by all.
In conclusion, we are all addicted to one thing or the other, crypto, read.cash, money etc..
Bottom line is make sure it yields good and not evil
Thank you for reading!
Addiction can be very dangerous to both our physical and mental wellbeing if engaged in for a long time. Moderation is key.
