Musicoin Project is looking for Devs! Two years ago, I wrote this article about **Musicoin** called **Musicoin: From the Ashes of the Phoenix**! Take the time to read this article to put yourself in the previous context, if you feel it. https://read.cash/@SolarPhasing/musicoin-from-the-ashes-of-the-phoenix-9507faed After this first phase of Swap to a Token based on the **Ethereum** blockchain and the ERC20 protocol, during which the majority of the community and Musicoin holders were left on the side of the road, for lack of information on social media or even by emailing to inform them, a second swap has been decided. From the launch of the project, musicians received their royalties in Musicoin ($MUSIC) instantly each time one of their tracks was played. These funds were fed by mining. A percentage of the Musicoin mined was dedicated to this fund and fed what was called the UBI. As it was necessary to have a blockchain that does not generate expensive fees for each transaction. Basically every time a track is played. The Musicoin team decided to port the project to the **Skale** Network and prepare the second Swap. Here we are around the first quarter of the year 2021. Two years full of promises of Skale port, of work on the project, of hope (false hope?) to the whole community. Or rather what is left of it. And still nothing! Not a shadow of a functional online site, let alone a visible port to Skale. Not even a screenshot of anything related. In short, still nothing on the horizon! So forget a Token Swap too! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that nothing has been done, or that nothing has been tried. But... Reality brings us back to earth quickly. For a project of this magnitude, you need blockchain specialists, high-level coders. People who are able to port a project based on an ERC20 token to the Skale blockchain. With all the problems that will have to be solved at all levels. At the beginning of January I decided to call the team members, to tell them my opinion about the project, and that it was high time to ask for help, to look for worthy developers. That despite the good faith and efforts, we were at the wall with nothing. Times are tough.. but.. Merry Christmas! We are inexorably approaching the end of year celebrations. First Christmas, today, then New Year's Eve and the New Year. It is a time of reunion, family and convivial meals, friends, joy, hope for the new year that is coming. In December, there was also the Winter Solstice, the 21st. Today.. is the Day! **Today.. is the Day!** It is scheduled since the end of September 2022. We enter on Recording Studio on this Thursday December 15th to start recording our **First Album** with The **Alchemic Journey** Band. https://www.facebook.com/AlchemicJourneyOfficial Day 1: Drums installation in the booth, placement of the microphones & sound test. We will record some full takes all the band playing live to check it later at home, waiting until the next session. We will probably do two more Recording Sessions this month of December. The first phase is to record all the drums of all the selected tracks for this first Album. The Sound Engineer, **Eric Hostettler** from **Eloise Studio**, will also record all the musicians and the singer, as ghost/working tracks. #Rock #StudioSession #Album #Record #AlchemicJourney **Stéphane Lorenzi**, the actual Drummer, who joined the band in September 2019. I have a long story with Stéphane, we played together in two rock bands in the 90s. Doing a lot of gigs too: Concerts, Festivals, etc. It was a great time! And we were young, haha. Then we lost touch until recently. I had invited him to join the band in 2017 the first time. Again invited in 2019 when our previous drummer, Gaël Vuillet, left for a tour of South America in a Camping Car. He finally joined us, very motivated. It's also the moment our actual Bass player **Jimmy Creton** joined us too. Because the previous Bassist since the start of the rebirth project (2017) was my first son **Michael** who move to another place in France for his work. We have had a second Guitar Player, Marc Gorand, who also played Keyboards on some of our compositions. He left the band on June 2021 to concentrate on another project. It was replaced by **Muriel Lachal** a Keyboard Player who only stayed 8 months with us. Having a full time Keyboard was a great experience. The paradoxical things are: 1). the fact the second guitarist left the band give us a boost of dynamism. Then: 2). when the Keyboard left too, we need to fullfill this empty space. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-H17HjEJmcg I had to rework all my guitar parts for a only 3 instruments arrangement. This allowed us to go much further in the sound exploration. With much more freedom, but also improvisation. It's a concept adopted from the beginning, these spaces of improvisations. Each concert is really different. It brings a color to the band that people really appreciate. Being with only 3 instruments also showed us the way to go further. The sound of the band started to change in a very positive way. No matter what happens, under this formation, the band is really kicking ass! These last months have been decisive in the search for a sound identity. We already had this specific touch. But this is a whole different story, now! Musically the progress is amazing in only a few months. And it is very gratifying for all the members of the band. We are really happy to make music together. It's now time to put it on a Record for the First Time! :0) We already scheduled the studio for January 2023. Then we will move to another basement to do all the work that remains to be done. Some news about Audius Music Platform I am an early believer from the **Audius** Music Streaming Platform. I signed up on December 18, 2019. The designers of the project presented their platform as an alternative to **Soundcloud**, promising unlimited storage of your compositions, on the Blockchain, and based on a future governance token. Comparatively, on **Soundcloud** you are limited quite quickly if you don't subscribe to increase your storage capacity. It was a nice deal for me to have the opportunity to test the "promising land". Note that I'm also an early believer here on **ReadCash** (since December 26, 2019). I think that if you see or feel any potentials on a new launched platform, don't think it too much, sign-in and just give it a try. Don't wait! It can make the difference. The site was already working well when I signed in, unlimited uploads of your compositions (as promised), creation of playlists and even albums. Your tracks can be private or public. It is precisely these features that I want to come back to today. Three years later. Because that's where it gets a bit tricky. Don't get me wrong: **I love Audius**! And it's because I love it that I want evolution, updates, new things, etc.. On a regular basis, better! So now, imagine your are working on an Album and you like to reveal some tracks as they come, as work in progress or in finale version. You upload your tracks. Ok; cool! But we still can't update a published track once it's done. So what? When you now have the finale version track to replace the previous old one? Two solutions: delete the previous or keep it online (not the best solution). We can't update! Or even set it as a private track once it is a public one. The opposite is possible, though. A private track can become public. Why not in reverse? Now imagine that you have used the "create an Album" option when publishing a track. You just can't add more tracks to it later. What? Yes, you can't! If you want to publish an Album on **Audius**, wait until you have all the tracks finished and are sure you want to publish it. Because the operation is only reversible by delete, again. No update possible. It's a shame. **Deleting a track, you will lose all reposts, favorites by fans, number of plays, etc..** https://audius.co/solarphasing/album/in-slow-motion-3833 These are two very important things I really like they would work on it very soon, and give us the possibility to make updates on tracks and Albums. We are now 3 years later after the launch! If you are a creative composer who like to share works in progress, these are very important options, possibilities. **Audius Monetization by Streaming is still not yet implemented.** **You can already earn some $Audio**, doing some tasks, or being "tip" by your music lovers, or your favorite artists in return. Heart of winter flower I talked about snow and its importance in my life in a previous post. How frequent the snowfalls were, every winter without exception, and sometimes lasted until spring. I remember the first "snowdrops" emerging through the white blanket, at Grand Clos Park, and here and there. As a child, a nothing makes you wonder, but there was plenty to wonder about, even as an adult. We spent most of our time, when not at school, outside playing. Building igloos or snowmen. And snowball fights! We sometimes went home to change our clothes because we were so wet, and above all, freezing. A new pair of warm socks and we were off again for one more turn. Around here, today, as soon as there is one or two centimeters of snow, the media channels or the authorities announce a red alert, etc.. It's like a panic wave! But.. with the school, we used to go skiing by bus on Wednesdays, if I remember correctly. And there were days when it was snowing like crazy. We would leave after half an hour or more, and the bus would finish climbing the mountain to take us to the ski resort. Mostly cross-country skiing. The day started well, it was snowing. Friday. The day started well, it was snowing. A winter season without snow is not winter. I know that there are places on the planet where it never, or very rarely, snows. I am in the region where I have lived all my life. In 1983 there was more than a meter of snow. Amazing! It used to snow every winter, very early, and sometimes until very late, until April. Today, snow is much rarer, whatever the reason for climate change. Today it's rehearsal with the **Alchemic Journey**, my rock band. Final rehearsal. We have a concert this Saturday. We have three new songs in our repertoire. Two of them are much more rock than what we usually play. We've had a month and a half to figure out and put together these 3 new songs. The goal is to unveil them at this concert for the first time. Excellent rehearsal. Everything is ok for the concert! Dismantling of the material and storage while waiting to return to recover it the following day for the concert. Return at home at approximately 1h30, 2 am. I still have to receive some videos on the cloud of the session of the day to prepare a promotional video for the concert. It is already very late in the night. Material check for this saturday. Getting a head start. Zzzzzzz.. Saturday. Tired from the day before. Didn't get much sleep. I emerge slowly. Final check of the material for the concert of tonight. I listen to music to relax, to clear my head. Mainly Latin Afro-Cuban. Joy transpires from this music. Even in their own "Blues tones". I collect the batch of videos to see what I can do with them. I select a small excerpt from the end of a track, at the end of a rehearsal. A paradoxical choice. Edit, rebuild. Done! Coffee. I'm quiet. I can just hang out and hang out. Do nothing. Just wait for the clock to tick. Not so fast. It's a method that works. I'll leave with peace of mind. Happy to go. Tonight the wild animals are letting loose. We will have to give a lot of energy. To offer, rather. I know that everything will go well. The guys are relaxed. We're ready. **Ready to Rock!** Whenever possible, we like to arrive early. To set up the equipment quietly, and do the soundcheck in the best possible conditions. For small stages, like clubs, we made the choice lately not to use stage monitors anymore. We have a big **Montarbo Sound System** which is really very, very efficient, with an impeccable sound quality. We place it behind us facing the audience. Only the voices, 3, go through the mixing desk. And a microphone reproduces the bass drum for a little more presence, of roundness. The drums are no longer placed behind but on the side. The sound is better for the public, and the communication between the musicians is also increased. Weird? No. The bass and the guitar come out directly from the amps. These are settings that have been tested in rehearsals. Almost no retouching is necessary. Do you have passions? Hello to all of you: :0) I hope you are well. I've been wanting to write here on ReadCash for days. To blog a little bit about my music projects, and share other things too. Well, I hope so. :0)) **Do you have passions?** We all have one or more passions in life. Although I know people who, when I asked them what their passion was, told me they didn't have one. Mystery.. Many here have a passion for writing, for example. Others read. I like reading a lot, too. I read mostly science fiction books and comics. But let's come to the subject. My first passion is obviously Music. It goes back to my childhood. I have written a few articles on this subject in the past. About how I discovered this magic world! About how I started to make some, to compose , and play, alone or with bands. And since then, throughout my life, it has never left me. On the contrary. And each day that passes is a discovery and a wonder. I am also a long time gamer. The first video game I played was Pong on a Thomson console at the end of the 70's, then came Space Invaders, Galaga, etc.. on arcade terminals in "cafés", accompanied by my father. More Rock Than Ever! Hello to all of you! :0) Some news from my Rock band **Alchemic Journey** in the middle of a hard work phase. This is for two reasons: - The first reason: and we can officially announce it! We will enter in studio mid December 2022 to start the **recording of our 1st Album**! It is at the studio **Eloise Prod** and under the direction of **Eric Hostettler** that will be recorded in a first time all the skeletons of the songs, mainly the drums, by playing the titles in live. We are already very impatient to start this new adventure! And we warmly thank Eric from **Eloise Prod** for his enthusiasm towards this project, and for his trust! :0) - The second reason is that we are working hard to develop new songs, compositions, that we will make people discover during our **next concert at La Taverne ALI BABA** on December 10th! 3 new titles: "**Je suis**" (I Am) (completely revised, new music, etc..). A title now very Rock "Punchy". The brand new "**Plus Rock Que Jamais**" (More Rock Than Ever). Dynamite in bars! And to calm down, slightly, a "beautiful rock ballad" which does not have a definitive title yet (but probably "**Sur Ma Colline**" (On My Hill)), which could be situated between "Un Espoir" and "Le Temps Qui Passe", mid tempo. We have other nice things in our boxes, but it's going to be a bit tight on timing before the concert. Musically, the **Alchemic Journey** sound has evolved a lot in the last few weeks. We have finally taken our marks with this formation, that is to say with 4 musicians. The best is yet to come! And as one of our song says: "**Everything remains to be written..**". We still have a lot of great stuff in the pipeline. For a long time now, I haven't proposed anything new. Nothing really concrete anyway. I'm back in a creative phase with my musicians. We have changed the environment for our rehearsals. And it is, in retrospect, the best thing that could have happened to us. Because we were finally able to sit down quietly, without any stress. And play. Without going into details, it had become very difficult to be in the right state of mind in our previous rehearsal room which belonged to a music oriented association. We also decided to leave this association for good this summer. For freedom. And then they were really not correct with us on the level of the material whereas we had concerts programmed. Leaving us without anything. Sound system, etc.. We managed to do it alternatively because we have to believe and always persevere. Believe in what you do! What more can I say?
