Today.. is the Day!

It is scheduled since the end of September 2022. We enter on Recording Studio on this Thursday December 15th to start recording our First Album with The Alchemic Journey Band.

Day 1: Drums installation in the booth, placement of the microphones & sound test. We will record some full takes all the band playing live to check it later at home, waiting until the next session. We will probably do two more Recording Sessions this month of December. The first phase is to record all the drums of all the selected tracks for this first Album. The Sound Engineer, Eric Hostettler from Eloise Studio, will also record all the musicians and the singer, as ghost/working tracks.

Stéphane Lorenzi, the actual Drummer, who joined the band in September 2019.

I have a long story with Stéphane, we played together in two rock bands in the 90s. Doing a lot of gigs too: Concerts, Festivals, etc. It was a great time! And we were young, haha. Then we lost touch until recently. I had invited him to join the band in 2017 the first time. Again invited in 2019 when our previous drummer, Gaël Vuillet, left for a tour of South America in a Camping Car. He finally joined us, very motivated. It's also the moment our actual Bass player Jimmy Creton joined us too. Because the previous Bassist since the start of the rebirth project (2017) was my first son Michael who move to another place in France for his work. We have had a second Guitar Player, Marc Gorand, who also played Keyboards on some of our compositions. He left the band on June 2021 to concentrate on another project. It was replaced by Muriel Lachal a Keyboard Player who only stayed 8 months with us. Having a full time Keyboard was a great experience. The paradoxical things are: 1). the fact the second guitarist left the band give us a boost of dynamism. Then: 2). when the Keyboard left too, we need to fullfill this empty space.

I had to rework all my guitar parts for a only 3 instruments arrangement. This allowed us to go much further in the sound exploration. With much more freedom, but also improvisation. It's a concept adopted from the beginning, these spaces of improvisations. Each concert is really different. It brings a color to the band that people really appreciate.

Being with only 3 instruments also showed us the way to go further. The sound of the band started to change in a very positive way. No matter what happens, under this formation, the band is really kicking ass! These last months have been decisive in the search for a sound identity. We already had this specific touch. But this is a whole different story, now! Musically the progress is amazing in only a few months. And it is very gratifying for all the members of the band. We are really happy to make music together. It's now time to put it on a Record for the First Time! :0)

We already scheduled the studio for January 2023. Then we will move to another basement to do all the work that remains to be done. Taking the time to do it great.

Girls, Guys, I'm very excited about the start of this new adventure.

I could tell you about this band for hours, you'd probably get sick of it, haha. but I'll have to get ready to go. Mostly the material.
