Am I the only one who usually type November instead of December in every date that I need to fill in? We are already on the 5th day of the month but I keep on repeating the same mistake over and over again. How about you guys? Do you have any experiences where you constantly repeat the same thing despite of knowing that it is wrong? Why? What I mean is, what hinders you to stop doing it?
Human as we are, commiting mistakes are not new to us anymore. I guess, no one in this world is perfect and flawless, right? We all have glitches and errors.
However, inspite of being the 'way we are', it doesn't mean that it's okay to intentionally commit wrong doings or unpleasant things just because it's part of our 'nature'.
We were given free will by God. Isn't it amazing how a powerful and sovereign Almighty God, who can control everything by just a snap of His finger, still bestowed us the privilege to decide for our ownselves?
As what I have said, commiting mistakes are inevitable. However, performing the same inappropriate action countless times, isn't right anymore and doesn't deserve any justification at all. A repetitive mistake isn't an accident but a choice already.
Repentance
Misfortunes happen in life. Sometimes, those are the moments that will lead us to do a not-so-good decisions or choices. Despite of wanting to do the right thing, we can't just do it because of several reasons. And I must say that it's okay. We are human. Flawed and imperfect. However, we can still correct those actions by first asking for forgiveness or repentance. Through this, we are showing that we regretted what we have done and will definitely do something to correct it or avoid doing the same thing the next time around. Now, that's what I mean when I say repentance. A change of behaviour.
Repeatance
'I am just a human', 'I am not perfect' , 'I am sorry, give me 3 more chances'. Now, by just reading those phrases above, we can already tell that this person has 80% possibility to repeat what he has done. Why? Well, let me share to you the things that I have observed to the people who isn't sincere in their apologies based on my experiences. Reasoning that 'I am just a human and isn't perfect', is a sign of not taking accountability to what he has done. A since person will never used this reasoning. Instead, he will acknowledge his mistake and then will never do it again.
Next, second chances are acceptable. However, if they already exceed that, and ask for 3rd , 4th and many more chances is no longer good. Apologizing but doing the same thing over and over again is no longer a repentance, but a repeatance. Do not be deceive.
