Good Evening to my dear writers. I have been busy this week and at the same time been dealing with writers block for the whole day. I wrote an article for an essay writing contest during the week I decided to share it here. Feel free to share your view. We are looking forward to elections in the next year in my country and there have been a lot of predictions of all sort. There are candidates that are qualified and those that are unqualified to me.

Notwithstanding, there are some things we should look forward to before casting our votes. It's not about voting for who will win but it's about voting for the right person.

Elections in 2023 includes Presidential, Governorship, Federal and State Houses of Assemblies and Senatorial Elections. The Umpire or referee of these elections is the Independent National Electoral Commission. (INEC)

The whole country will be casting their vote to elect candidates of their own choice. The future of the citizen and Nigeria students will depend on the type and calibre of candidate of people elected.

Nigerians expect them to fulfil the promises they made during campaign. Many of their campaign promises have to do with the welfare of the citizens, like security and safety of the country and it's citizens. They should ensure that there is peace and protection for every citizen. Kidnapping, bandictry, armed robbery and other forms of violence and insecurity should be stopped. No development and progress can take place in the nation if there's insecurity.

Provision of scholarships should be made for indigent students. Absolute attention and focus should be given to education sector. They should provide opportunities for students to study and learn and avoid Academic Staff Union of Universities incessant strike and any other situation that may cause delay to the education of the students and prolong their academic activities.

Our leaders are expected to ensure that there is gainful employment for graduates. Employment by the federal, state and local government and into federal parastatals and ministries ought to be provided. The government should create jobs to curb youth restiveness.

We also expect them to provide decent environment for learning in the higher institutions by renovating and remodelling dilapidated buildings, construction of new lecture theatres, libraries, hostels and laboratories in order to ensure more comfortable, conducive and decent learning environment.

More focus and attention to be paid to the welfare of lecturers by giving them decent salaries and stipends. Many lecturers tend to leave the country for greener pastures because there are more chances of survival there for them than in Nigeria.

Since white collar jobs are no longer available government can provide loans for graduate to be employers of labor through small scale industries like poultry, agro allied industries like fisheries, piggery, planting of cash crops like cashew, cocoa, kolanut, palm trees e.t.c.

The government can do better in the aspect of education by sending brilliant students abroad to further their education then bringing them back to the country after they have completed their education and put them into a good use.

In order to encourage creativity and intelligence, they should mobilise, empower and employ youths in the aspect of technology and invest in them to help curb the rate of unemployment and create more enterprenuers.

They should provide necessary facilities to encourage and mobilise youths into sports. The impact of sports on the country is far beyond the national achievements. They should make it their responsibilities to develop the sports industry.

As youths is the nation's most valuable asset, our leaders should invest in the life's of the youths, investment in man is the greatest investment. I hope to see better lifes for every citizen of the country, the youths and Nigeria students.

Hmm. Politics have become so scary now that only few youth are showing interest in that sector. It's understandable since many youth lose their lives at the course of politics. I pray God help my country.

The saddest part of it is that the government no longer cares about how the students feel or not. Our shouting and yelling were just a waste of time

They are still coming with their fake promises. They know many might still fall victim of their deceit.
