Hi, I am new in read.cash. Thinking about what to say in my first post, my mind has a lots of Words… So, what better way to start than by talking about the Power of Words. A proverb says Words have the Power of Life and Death. Words are more than sounds, they mold the mind to later become thoughts or actions, they are so powerful that through them we can create or destroy, that is why their correct management is of vital importance.
Although we learn to communicate through oral language as soon as we are months old, the correct use of words, their content, their tone, their context, is an art that takes some people years to learn and master.
How many times have we been misunderstood because of a simple change in tone of voice? How many times have we spoken out of context? Words are not only transmitters of knowledge, of ideas, but of affection, encouragement, conviction. How powerful words can be to the people who surround us.
We give words of encouragement to transmit courage, security. How many insecurities we accumulate throughout our lives and we need a word of encouragement to push us to start the project we have dreamed of, to begin that new relationship with that special someone, to take new strength in dark moments. "You Can Do It", "Come on, you are the best", "You are very special" are just examples of the dozens or hundreds of affirmations that we can pronounce to those around us who need it so much.
Encouraging with words means learning to see the world from the perspective of the one we want to encourage. To put ourselves in their shoes to see their dreams and hopes and to motivate that person to achieve those dreams. Words can be the light that illuminates the leftovers produced by doubts, worries and fears.
As well as the content of what is said, kindness, tenderness, gentleness in what is said also plays a vitally important role. The way we deliver compliments plays a decisive role in maintaining a healthy relationship with our loved ones.
Most people like to receive compliments. There are even some people who can't live without them. Here are some tips if your couple is one who likes to receive compliments, words of encouragement and affirmation:
1. Start by thanking her or him for things this person does routinely that she or he probably doesn't expect to receive a compliment.
2. Send audios (including WhatsApp) containing songs, poems, stories or podcast that she or he enjoys.
3. Help your partner identify his or her skills, virtues and strengths, then constantly remind him or her of them.
4. Write thoughts of encouragement or affirmation that help express how you feel about your partner. Leave the notes in places where you are sure he or she will find them.
5. Learn to say "I love you" or other phrases of encouragement in other languages:
Te amo (Spanish)
Je t'aime (French)
Ich liebe dich (German)
Ti amo (Italian)
Eu amo-te (Portuguese)
我愛你 (Chinese)
愛してます (Japanese)
انا احبك (Arabian).
To love is a duty we have as human beings. The most powerful commandments are to love God above all things and love others like ourselves. Words are Powerful Communicators of Love. Encourage, affirm and value, but above all with KIND WORDS.
