Your suffering or effort?
"If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges".
Many times when I see people suffering and narrating their experiences and how they have been dealt with in life; Disappointments, Rejection, Failure, Setbacks, Death of loved ones, losing a huge opportunity, etc, I do think they have lost it and when new opportunities land for them, they do deserve it. Yes, they do deserve it, only if they define themselves amidst those circumstances around them.
Someone like Olasquare, I would definitely say he defined himself not by the sufferings he had in the past, but how he made efforts to bring himself out and be the best, despite those challenges that came to him.
Yes, I wouldn't fail to applaud myself too because I was dealt with life when my mom died and how families rejected us and left us to our Dad. We suffered a little but does that really define me? No, what really defines me was how I made efforts to be the best and deliver myself from the poverty that waylaid us then.
"Define yourself not by your suffering, but by your efforts"
This is a quote from an email by James Clear that was sent to me on Thursday. I have been receiving this kind of email every Thursday and I decided to write something about it here.
Many people are so lazy that instead of defining themselves positively, they are pessimistic about life and doubt if ever they would come out alive from those obstacles in their ways. There would always be a way out for you when you are faced with different challenges, and until you are able to take yourself out of the chains, you will keep being stuck in that chain till who knows when you will escape from it.
Accept the reality that what will be will be. No one can actually change what has already been changed or written. You have to define yourself and stop limiting yourself because someone who is capable of helping you is gone. You have to stand up and shake off the pain in you and start again, even if everything you ever depended on collapses in your presence.
Making efforts is the way out to break off of any chain holding you down. Even when people think less of you, you should prove to the world that you can do it. There is no one without a problem and many who have succeeded today already went through what you are going through. So, you see, there's nothing that ever happened to you, that hasn't been an experience for someone.
Making efforts are what makes us stronger and brave. It makes us confident and by the time you are out of it completely, people would want to hear from you and not to hiss at you for not trying to make an attempt of succeeding. People are waiting for the result after your efforts and would definitely praise you for your "never giving up" spirit instead of criticizing you with excuses given by you. You don't need excuses, you need results.
When the time comes, people will ask questions and criticize you if ever you stop proving to the world what you are made of. You need to let them know that even if circumstances happen, there is a way you wouldn't be dealt with again because there is that spirit in you to keep moving and take yourself out of failure.
So, when you think you are suffering, don't expect the world to praise or pity you, define yourself by your efforts. What were the things you did while trying to stop the challenges? How did you manage to do it without having the thought of stopping halfway? These are questions you need to ask and keep taking steps until you come out victorious.
Your loved ones are dead doesn't mean life has ended for you. Cry, yes, it's normal but wipe your tears afterwards and move on. No one will think of you when you are a failure. Teach yourself to do what it takes to be successful. By this, you will be the talk of the town while narrating your stories.
People like Joel Osteen, Aliko Dangote, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey etc defined themselves not by their sufferings but their efforts.
I hope this piece meet you in good hands and I believe this week will sure be another wonderful one. Despite the bad moment of last week, let it not define you, but define yourself by doing more than the previous week and by doing that, you will see that change you had expected.
Thanks for reading from me again and this is another moment to thank @King_Gozie for renewing his sponsorship. Thank you so much bro ðŸ¤

You have really made an interesting point sister mi. I guess I would from henceforth, always try as much as possible to be defining myself by my efforts an not my sufferings
