Ken had just lost his parent to a car accident on their way back from the farm. Both parent worked hard to train him to a secondary school even though he was not serious and wouldn't concentrate in class. His father said to him one day "Ken, I am really regretting I stopped having children just because I want you alone. I and your mom decided to bring only you to earth and give you the best education, but here you are, making us feel sad because you aren't doing well in your studies. Who are we going to look up to tomorrow? Remember, we may not be here for you someday, study hard to be the best you can."

He felt sober at those words but none of them moved an inch to him. He didn't allow the words of his parent have an impact, instead it was as if things were getting out of hand.

Ken's parent as usual went to the farm while he went to school. He was given the news while in class that his parent are dead. He couldn't believe it when he saw their corpses in front of their small hut.

After their death, it dawned on Ken that he has to take life as it has come. He must be a man now that no one is there to help him. He sat down outside the small hut one day and was thinking of the way forward before an idea came to his mind. That was after sighting his father's bike. His father actually inherited it from his own father who was Ken's grandfather. Ken's father used to ride it to the farm to make things easier for him not until it developed a fault and was parked somewhere in the house.

This would be an issue to Ken because he has to look for money to repair it as the idea was to use it for business and the little he get, he would further his education with it.

He later repaired the bike with the aid of his friend who has an Uncle in the business and he was able to help himself by furthering his education with the income he gets from the bike. At least, he is being serious now that no one could replace his parent. He tightened his belt and lived the life he never expected.

Few years later, Ken got a prize and an award as the best employee of the year and was also promoted as a general manager. When other colleagues saw this, they felt hatred for him and since then, were planning his downfall. The first plan from his enemies was to tempt him into coming to an agreement to embezzle part of the money in the company. They listed many benefits he would be getting once he becomes part of them.

Ken thought about this for days as he kept thinking of the benefits but on the other hand, he knew this would implicate him and demote him. He was in dilemma as other colleagues kept coming devising different methods just to ruin his life. He thought about disclosing this to his friend one-day and the advice he was given was to report to the owner of the company immediately before it gets out of hand.

On this particular day, the deed was about to be sealed in his office and he has been recording every words from them. He didn't speak any word until they finalized everything. After the meeting, he went straight to the boss' office and played the recording to him. He felt sad about this and those involved were sacked.

Closing thought

The Ancient Property that changed Ken's life was the bike he inherited from his father. He wouldn't have been where he was if he didn't further his education with the income he get through the bike. You will notice some words are bold too. I had to try the random word generator suggested by Jane.

You will also notice I published this late. I woke up late this morning and I remembered I slept off while writing this story last night and I couldn't complete it this morning as I was already late for Church. I had to suspend it till when I am back from Church.
