Hump Day Wrap up : Wait it Out
I should have been out of the house three hours ago. I have some place to be and need to meet some people early tomorrow morning before engaging in a regular nine o' clock meeting. So I plan to be there like tonight instead of waking up early tomorrow morning.
But some things need to be waited out a bit. For sanity's sake maybe. Or in my case, safety and to stay away from possibility of hassles.
My dad called my attention this afternoon regarding my possibly busted reverse lights. He already told me that months ago. But who gets a ticket for a reverse light that winked, right? He also told me that one of my brake lights is not lighting up. Now that is a concern.
I went on with my daily agenda. Bringing the bike out to do some errands since by traffic rule, I cannot drive my car today. Finally got my bike washed. I can do that stuff on my own but I wanted try. I was so happy to see it super squeaky clean. Got back home to go pack up and finish up some work. Had an awesome dinner.
And then dilly dallied a bit more. Watched a few Manifest episodes, brewed coffee because I said I want to have caffeine in my system before I drive. Then my brother called me up to tell me he did not like the way I parked my car.
I grabbed the opportunity to let him help me validate what my dad saw. Tail lights, check. Reverse light, thumbs down. Break lights, thumbs down. And the good thing about this dilly dally thing I did, I checked my park light and then my head lights. Park lights not good, head lights good.
Wear and tear.
My brother said it might be a good idea to leave in the morning instead. I did not like the idea. But then again what harm would waiting it out a bit do, right? Leave in the morning when there are lesser vehicles in the road and most likely no need for the lights and a mechanic and shop may be available. Good idea.
Delays sometimes lead to protection.
I already had my work laptop stowed in the car. So that means I gave myself a forced break. See? The plan plus the delay caused me to take a break.
Pause.
Wait it out a bit. Not everything has to be done right away because taking a pause, taking a break is also a must-do.
Now I am breathing.
I will probably get that nth cup of black joe. I will probably continue with the Manifest series.
And hopefully, my body clock cooperates with waking up earlier than usual to drive out for the Thursday agenda.
Made it this far? Salute to you!
