Yesterday, a connectivity issue with the node read.cash connects its wallet service caused many to wonder why funds at read.cash were not showing.
I received and read numerous messages at read.cash and noise.app from users of read.cash
Many were asking questions and wondering why they could not tip anyone or receive tips or why the platform wasn’t indicating their balances.
It appears that many read.cash users have not yet discovered the reason cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Cash exist.

Read.cash connects to this particular Bitcoin Cash node to fetch information on our addresses and allow transactions.
Read.cash (or the node) has no access to our funds. This is a non-custodial part we keep explaining.
It is time to save our seed phrase that provides access to our non-custodial read.cash addresses.
If I recall, we received some emails from read.cash when we signed up.
One was: Back up your seed words.
Instructions:
Follow the link above or go to Options->Backup my wallet and press this button in the article. This will show you your seed phrase, which you should not show to anyone else.
The private key (in this case, the seed phrase and derivation path) is the access to move our BCH on the blockchain.
Don’t show your seed phrase or private key to anyone, since if you do, they can access your BCH immediately. The same goes for any other cryptocurrency.
You can import the phrase on any other wallet supporting Bitcoin Cash and access your address with your BCH funds. No matter the wallet you use (Bitcoin.com, Electron Cash, Paytaca, Zapit, or any other BCH-supportive non-custodial wallet), you can always access your funds with your seed phrase or private key.
Also, remember to save the derivation path as well.
And that’s it. For beginners in cryptocurrency and newcomers in Bitcoin Cash and read.cash you probably found that read.cash is the only platform with this non-custodial feature allowing instant control of funds.
