A gloomy and rainy weather we have here in Capiz. I woke up so early this morning hoping that we could go and spend some time to the beach but unfortunately, the weather did not allow us. So I just spend my morning by doing some stretching and breathing exercise. Then I helped my husband do the cleaning. And after that, we had our breakfast.
We are almost at the end of the month of November. How time flies, right? How was 2021 to me so far? I would say that this year is not so bad after all. Despite the fact that my husband was unemployed for almost a year, he still has sidelines that has helped us in our needs. And me being sick, I still feel so blessed because I am surrounded by people who has helped me spiritually, emotionally and most of all financially.
So earlier, me and my husband was having a small talk about our plans for the coming year. Since he has no job yet and our daughter is now in College, we were thinking of putting up a small business, a Sari-Sari store in front of our house.
We had a store before, 7 years ago if my memory serves me right. It started from s few cans of sardines, packed of cigarettes and some candies and crackers. Then little by little I added more items to sell.
The husband did all the work, he is so skilled in doing carpentry and all. But he specializes in electrical. And I am proud to say that he is a good one. He can read plans and blueprints and even make plan by himself. He got his skills from his father. But due to this pandemic, it made him hard to land on a permanent job.
This is how our store looks like before. It actually made a big hit, char, when I started my mini store. I had so many customers or "suki". Also, andaming din nangungutang, hahahaha! But in business, you can't avoid those utangera talaga. But what annoys me is that, "kapag utang sa akin, pero kapag bibili sa iba".
Then typhoon Yolanda came and destroyed our store. It totally washed out everything. We did not expect that it would be that strong so everything was destroyed.
After what happened, we have decided to stop our little business. At that time, my husband had so many projects that he told me to just focus on our daughter.
Now, let's go back to the present time, enough with the reminiscing the past, char!
So I told him that we needed a capital for the said business. Then he said that he will sell his motorcycle and use the money for the store. He said we can get a new one once everything will go smoothly. The important thing is that we can start our business.
He will also look for a job and hopefully, next year, more opportunities will be open to people like him. You know, he is already 46 years old, some companies still has age limit requirements.
So hopefully, next year will be a good year for us. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
