Culture is the customary beliefs, socialforms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group. Also the characteristic features of everyday existence (such as diversions or a way of life) shared by people in a place or time. -Merriam Websters Dictionary

We need to be aware of cultural differences inorder to avoid misunderstandings or misconceptions which may lead to a serious conflict. We need to be aware of diversity of cultures in able for us to be sensitive. In order to embrace the diversity in cultures, we should be aware of the different practices, norms, rules and moral standards of a certain culture. Being aware is a root to sensitivity and respect.

We need to be culturally appropriate because it is another way of respecting one’s culture. Being aware of your own culture opens you to understanding and being more sensitive to the cultures of others. Being culturally  appropriate is often viewed as benign and cultural empathy which is beneficial in cultural exchanges. It is also the same thing as learning diverse cultures.

Proponents view it as often benign or mutually beneficial, citing mutation, product diversity, technological diffusion, and cultural empathy as among its benefits.

That’s a good thing that you are able to adapt easily. Be careful coz there are still users here in this platform who discriminates races

Reading this article about cultural differences, I can remember our First year in college, where almost every one of us came from different provinces of Bicol. Knowing that we are all bicolanos still the language barrier was there. It makes me laugh reminiscing those "ethnocentric" pranks that we pull off to each other. Indeed, awareness is the key to unite us all.

But what can I say, we are Filipinos and being resilient is flowing in our blood, so it wasn't shocking that we already get to know and understand each other better now.

I agree. Those moments sure are gems. The time I was always asking if what were you saying bc I can't even understand your dialect. I remember that I used to call all of you "aliens" (my bad) hhaaahah .But as time goes by, I'm gradually learning diverse dialects (tho I can't still speak using those languages).
