6. Hallerbos Forest, Belgium
Just 20 kilometers south of Brussels, Belgium, next to Waterloo, is this amazing forest, so don’t miss out if you’re walking nearby! Although there are plenty of flowers (e.g. daffodils, chamomile) in the Hallerbos Forest, the opening of the honeysuckle is the most beautiful, so it is definitely worth visiting the forest in late April or early May. The honeydew opening only lasts for 7-10 days, so it’s definitely worth watching the internet if you’re nearby and don’t want to miss it!
7. Pine forest, USA
In the American California, exactly in the Slate Pine Forest near the White Mountains, is the oldest known living thing in the world today, the smooth-leaved Pine, i.e. the Methuselah tree. Its age is estimated at 4951-52 years, but its exact location is kept secret by the American Forest Service for the safety of the tree. It is interesting that according to TripAdvisor reviews, the forest is surprisingly barren compared to the natural attractions in the area (eg Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon, etc.), although it is incredibly beautiful!
8. Pom Klong Song Nam, Thailand
This mangrove forest is located in Tambon Khao Kram, Krabi Province, Thailand, and the water around it turns turquoise in sunshine! According to tourists, this place has a real fairytale atmosphere, which I think is mainly due to the fact that it is a little further than average from the airport and the main attractions, and most prefer to miss visiting this magical "jungle" forest. I certainly wouldn't, and you?
9. Amazon rainforest, South America
The Amazon rainforest, which occupies almost 40% of South America, is located in the Amazon Basin, much of it belongs to Brazil, but Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela also have a “small” piece of it. Despite its enormous size, the Amazon rainforest (the world's largest forest, almost 5,500,000 km²) will unfortunately never be the same again. Like Australia today, the Amazon has been hit by plenty of fires in recent times: by this year, for example, the area of the former rainforest has shrunk by about 17%, and that proportion will gradually increase unless Brazil drastically transforms its local agriculture.
