Africa, Asia, Europe - the world is full of eye-catching waterfalls, the most beautiful of which you can now see. Admire them to your liking!
1. Angel Falls, Venezuela
Angel Falls is located in Canaima National Park in eastern Venezuela, named after the explorer James Crawford Angel in 1933. Many don’t know, but it is the highest waterfall in the world, with its 1283 meters. By comparison, this waterfall is 15 times higher than Niagara Falls!
2. Tinago Falls, Philippines
Although there are plenty of waterfalls in the Philippines, many say the 73-foot-high Tinago is the most beautiful - it’s true, you have to fight for it, as more than 300 steps lead down to it, and you have to climb the same amount backwards. Still, the sight is dazzling, you can even swim with a life jacket next to it, so all-in-all is a must-see when you’re on the island of Mindanao.
3. Iguazu Falls, Argentina / Brazil
The "water complex" at the Argentine-Brazilian border consists of 275 waterfalls, with an average height of no more than 60 meters - nonetheless quite spectacular because they are 2.7 kilometers wide, in the shape of a horseshoe, almost side by side.
4. Kuang-Si Waterfall, Laos
Located in northern Laos, 29 kilometers from Luangprabang, this fabulous three-tiered waterfall, the most spectacular point of which is the rock wall about 60 meters high in the middle. According to TripAdvisor recommendations, do not come here during the rainy season, because the huge amount of water almost completely covers the waterfall, and the color of the water also becomes extremely gray.
5. Gullfoss waterfall, Iceland
Follow the tropics with a little arctic! One of Iceland’s most popular natural attractions is the two-step waterfall, Gullfoss, in one of the canyons of the Hvita River, whose small size (only 32 meters high) should not deter anyone from visiting! The waterfall, which means "gold" in Hungarian, offers a dazzling sight.
6. Mardalsfossen Falls, Norway
We continue our journey in Norway, where we will encounter a very waterfall. Mardalsfossen Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in Europe with 705 meters. The waterfall can be reached after a walk of about two kilometers from the small village of Mardalen (no need to think about big "climbing": both the elderly and children often do this distance).
7. Jog Waterfall, India
The 252-meter-high Jog Waterfall (also known as Gersoppa Waterfall or Jogada Gundi) in southwestern India originates from the Sharavati River and is considered by experts to be one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world - no question why. It is mostly recommended to visit from August to December, because then less water than average flows down it and shines in even fuller splendor.
8. Torc Falls, Ireland
In the south of Ireland, in the magnificent Killarney National Park, is Torc Falls, which is amazing not only because of its large size (less than 20 meters) but also because it is also the most fairy of the many eye-catching waterfalls in the park.
9. Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe / Zambia
One of Africa’s greatest natural symbols at the time, the British explorer David Livingston renamed it from Mosi-oa-Tunya to Victoria Falls in honor of Queen Victoria. Although not the highest ("only" 106 meters) and not the widest, the approx. Thanks to its 1.7-kilometer diameter, it is considered one of the most powerful waterfalls, which no one can even argue with. It is said to be so loud that you can hear the flow of the water mass from kilometers.
10. Fairy Pools, Isle of Skye, Scotland
One of the natural gems of the Isle of Skye in the north-east of Scotland is this crystal clear waterfall that looks like it came from a fairy tale. To reach the waterfall, we have to walk about 40 minutes (about 2.4 miles) along the Brittle River from the small village of Carbost.
