It's All About Being Positive.

We always beat ourselves up too much and focus only on the things that aren't working so well. Just as Dreemsteem on DreemPort told us, it's all about positivity, no criticism or sarcasm... We need to focus on the things that are working for us and things that we can turn into a strength rather than focusing on the things that aren't working. In that same vein, I've decided to write a letter to myself to go in line with the task of the day.

I want you also to write a letter to yourself or a poem...focus on the good parts and ignore the negatives or the things you don't like about yourself. Stay positive and look ahead... It helps with the mental shift.

Dear Olawale - Olawalium,

I have to admit that it has been a long time since I've written to you even though we converse more heart to heart. I haven't scribbled anything to you for a long while. There is always something different when we put thoughts into paper because it calls for more deep reflection as it can be passed for a face-to-face encounter. I know a lot has changed since the last time we spoke.

You are one of the strongest people I've come across in this life I've lived. I know it's bad to brag about your dad's field being the best when you haven't been to other people's fields but don't blame me for seeing through all that you have been through when no one understands how it could have affected you in the negative and here you are, standing strong, holding fast and still living, better than a cat with nine lives.

Life forced growth on you and you still carried it as though you were ready for it. With weights on your shoulders, you still smile to make others happy without anyone caring to ask you where it hurts. It's natural for people to assume you have nothing that bothers you because of how you smile and be there for others. This is why I admire you so much because you won't complain and that's your strength. You once told me that it's the way you are wired and you are more than happy to do all that you do. You never allowed your good heart to be compromised. You never see people as taking advantage, you only see them as needing help. That's a positive way to view people without allowing our hearts to be corrupted.

With a lot of people turning their backs against you when you needed them the most many years ago, you have learnt how to be independent and also be there for those who don't have your kind of strength but are going through a similar situation. One of the things I've learnt about you is that our perspective would always shape how we react. You see what others can't see, and think what others don't think because you are a deep thinker and observer. You don't talk much but when you need to, you tick every dot because you have observed for too long to understand every aspect of things that should be considered.

You have an incredible amount of strength and resilience. You have been thrown to the wolves and yet, every time, you come back leading the pack. No doubt, God leaves His hardest battle for His most trusted soldier. Ay ay, Major, you've gone up the rank. You have dealt with some worst situations and overcame them. You are closer now to your end goal than when you started. Life was teaching you, you are growing albeit painstakingly and it's worth it.

You are a goldfish that can never hide even with your laid-back approach to certain things. You don't struggle for things because you know your worth and just allow certain things to evolve naturally. As long as you keep dreaming, there is nothing you cannot attain in this life.

Situations and happenings all around have never determined how you feel about yourself because you have that wellspring of joy and goodness inside you with lots of doses of self-worth and confidence. When things happen, your view has always been to see them as speedbumps which were designed to stop you only temporarily and not permanently. This is why you always have that positive outlook on things because you believe that we are only as limited as we allowed ourselves to feel.

You are a gift to this world and everyone that comes in contact with you always catches that bug of excitement and sense of worth. You enjoy making others feel important because true friendship is never about the class you belong to or the places you come from but about value, respect, love and understanding. You are talented in so many things and you are a strategic thinker. You are a rare gift and thank you for giving the world a lift. You are a wellspring of wisdom too and you throw your wisdom around like confetti as your influence spreads like fragrance. One of your greatest gifts is your heart as it controls everything else too.

One of the many things that give you joy is giving. You said you would rather live a day and touch many lives than live a thousand years and not be remembered for any life being positively influenced. You give, you sacrifice - you put other people's needs ahead of yours. This is a sign of strength, more than anyone else can imagine. It's not surprising that you light up everywhere you go and leave the footprints of your presence in every heart you come across.

I am proud of who you are and who you can still be because this is not the end of your book because there are still volumes to be created about you, so many chapters to be read, so many lessons to be passed, so many memories to be created and so many impacts to be made. Thank you for blessing the world with your awesomeness.
