This is the question I got from a certain facebook page that I follow for months now. It instantly caught my attention because the question really is something that can let us ponder for a while.
Sana all is our common response when hear of other people's victory. It's like it is set as a default on our systems to think and say sana all to other people's milestones.
What do you really want?
We all have pretty the same things that we want to have and we want to happen in our lives. To lists,we have to graduate and get our dream job, we have the dream house and car, the giving back to the parents, business funds, investment funds and money to be used for travel.
However, there are dreams too that may vary from me and you. You might want to be a doctor but I want to be a policewoman.
We dream the same set of dreams. Then, we dream specifically. We are humans powered by different creative brains. So, we also have different ways on how to make our dreams come true.
The problem arises when A achieves her dreams earlier than B, C and D. Of course, the problem won't be A's but for the whole situation itself because B, C and D would instantly say "Sana All". There might be nothing wrong with that in the surface but look closely to the heart there is a little piece of envy, self-pity, and the big question of "God, when will it be my turn?".
Achieving dreams is magical that almost everyone craves for it. There is no fulfilling and satisfying feeling other than finally getting your hands close to your dreams. It is within your grisps, you can only cry in thanksgiving.
There are people who seemed to be more favored by God for they achieved their dreams easily and early while there are others too who have to wait in the long line. Most of these are left frustrated and hopeless. Courage is fleeting for some. One day, they are in their high hopes, the second day, they are back to their old hopeless selves. Worst, they question God. Why would it take long for them to reach their dreams when their friends got theirs instantly? Are you playing favorites? Are you making fun of me?
My friend believes that it is okay to question God. She said we should let them know about our hurts and our sentiments. We should bring into light all that we feel about Him because He knows everything anyway. Nothing is secret for Him.
I found the answer from all of the questions above. I found it on Facebook too. "Naa nay giandam ang Ginoo, Ikaw nalang ang ginaandam Niya". God has something in store for you. There is something prepared for you already. It is you that He is preparing for your dreams. He is molding and crafting you to be able to be in the right attitude to receive His blessings.
Sometimes, our blessings are blocked by our attitude. The blessing is always there, ready to be poured out on us but our attitude is different. We are not worthy and ready yet to achieve our blessings. So, God is giving us time, sending us some more challenges to prepare us and to hone our attitude to be aligned with His blessings.
We always accuse Him of being late in giving us our dreams. Sometimes, we feel that He is too distant to hear our prayers but God moves in ways we can never imagine. He is never early nor late. In fact, He is being patient with us. He is waiting for us to change our attitude and perspectives. He sends challenges for us to learn so our attitude would be aligned with our dreams. When our attitudes align with our dreams, maybe God will grant us our prayers. Maybe. Just Maybe.
Do you really want what others have?
We may have the same sets of dreams but we have our own pace. We run our race. When the monkey climbed and has reached the bananas. The turtle would likely say "sana all", not because the turtle want bananas too but the turtle wants to achieve success like the monkey. Same is true for us, we like to say "sana all" because we celebrate other's victories too and we are yearning for ours. Waiting patiently or waiting restlessly for our turn.
You see, waiting is the most exciting part of the game.
When do we say "sana all"?
We often say "sana all" when we are in situation like what is mentioned above. But there are instances too when we just say "sana all" out of the blue. It is just our default reaction but deep inside we really don't like what others have.
There are instances when we say "sana all" just because we want to dismiss the whole situation and end the conversation. We do this to keep our mental health intact and brush away the envy that we could possibly feel after hearing others victory. We don't want to hear further explanations anymore.
But, oftentimes, we say "sana all" just because we really want what others have. The dream house, car, the job, the relationship. We want what we see in the surface but when we will learn what it takes to be there- to achieve everything already, do we still wish to have what others have?
We love the victories but we hate the journey that would include bumpy roads and rainy days. Some wouldn't be able to bear the pain that lies along the journey and would rather choose to give up.
There are people to who have successfully passed through the journey and had finally achieved the dreams only to find out that it is not what makes her/him happy. They were just caught in the circle of envy that is why they choose to walk through the same path and when they are there already. It felt different. They felt not the same kind of happiness that other people felt.
So before saying "sana all", ask yourself first, do you really want what others have?

Honestly, I am really not the type to say "sana all" even "China oil". I find it a little jologs. Sorry but no offense to others. I just put into my mind that I wull also be able to achieve it as long as I give my all or if I will exert some effort. And you are right, it might not be today because God is preparing us for that. It is with our attitude on how we are willing to wait. I remember someone have said it before in church that majority of us are willing to wait whenever we order our food but why cannot we wait for the right time or God's time. I think about sa love life yun. Tinamaan ako actually. Hahaha. Kasi sa love life talaga ako lagi napapawish ng "sana ako din. Sana ako na lang" #Basha hahahaha.
Then if dumating na yung blessings that is intended for us, we should still have the same positive atitude and to give back to God and to people. 😇
