We all have someone whom we run into if we are having a bad day. Someone who can chase our blues and worries away. Someone who unintentinally puts smiles on our faces even without putting much effort. I have mine, she is my niece.
I never knew I would love this kid that much. Even before, I never imagined that I would love kids not until I got a niece. Sure, I adore cute kids but not all. Admit it or not but our hearts are easily get smitten by cute babies- those with chubby checks, cute eyes and those with special talents even in their young age. We also admire toddlers who are smart enough to talk back to us, toddlers who call us "ate gwapa" and "kuya gwapo" -( pretty big sister and handsome big brother). I used to pinch cute little babies' faces but that's all. My admiration of kids are just not that big. Not until I got a niece.
When I learned that I'll have a niece, I got jealous because at the back of my mind, I thought that this little creature would steal all of my sister's attention. And guess, It's true. I'm right. She stole my sister's attention even mine. 🤣
To this day I can't contain my happiness at this gift that we are entrusted. I adore her very much that I love her like she's my own. Now today, to give you a glimpse of how I'm feeling for my niece, here are bits and pieces of how I love her.
How I love my niece, let me count the ways:
I love my niece because she is my niece. 🤣
Of course, we should love our own. #supportlocal🤣 . The blood that is in her veins and arteries is the same blood that is in mine. So, loving her is not even a question. I love her because we came from the same tribe. And if other kids would bully and mess with her, I'll be by her side.
I love my niece for no reason.
I love my niece because look at the face! Who wouldn't love that. Haha I really love my own. So please bear with me.🤣
I love my niece because she thinks she is cute and she really is.
I wanted to instill confidence in her as early as now. I wanted her to do her thing and not just sit in the corner, alone and shy. I want her to conquer the world and be anything that she wanted to be.
I love my niece because she brings anthing more in the family
We usually call our niece our little sister. She adds fun and chaos in the family. She is loved dearly most especially by my father. My niece is a spoiled toddler. Whatever she wants, my father gives. Her one-week worth of snack wouldn't last long because my father feeds her so much even when her stomach is full. My father would say, (dali kcaxy, kan a ni biscuit ug yakult kay mapan-os) or in tagalog (halika kcaxy, kainin mo ang biscuit at yakult dahil baka mapanis) haha. This is why my niece also loves my father than my mother.
I love my niece just the way she is.
My niece is an entertainer whatever she does, makes us all happy. Even when she just sits like a boss watching TV, we are happy. She dances zumba too and to every TV commercial she hears and see. She runs around the house like she is chased by a cow. She jokes around switching the TV channel when my father is already hooked by the TV program. When everyone is busy and she got no one's attention. She hides under the table playing games at my brother's phone. There are lots of goofy things that my niece likes to do. But, no matter how naught she is, we won't complain because surely we will miss this side of her when she grow up.
I love my niece because she knows how to keep in touch.
Whenever she can have a chance to hold my brother's phone, she tries to call everyone. She randomly videocalls my brother's contact on messenger and sends a picture of them.
Selfie? She knows!
My niece knows how to take a selfie. I don't know where she learned this but everytime she got a phone with her she would say "pisure" which means take a picture.
My niece likes to go out.
My niece seldomly got a chance to go out because of the pandemic. She can only play with kids her age in church and sometimes, when I accompany her too. My mother is not a fan of going out and my brother is busy doing his modules. So, whenever I come home, I make sure I let her go out.
These are the things I love about my niece. There are a lot more but I will share it to you next time. She is our source of happiness and she brings light to our family. She is my anti-depressant, our happy pill.
How about you? Who or what is your happy pill?
*All the photos are mine.
Thank you so much for reading this far. To my sponsors thank you so much.
How do you pronounce her second name? She's really cute. Kakagigil. My happy pill? I would have to say that it would be my dogs. My godson had been my happy pill for awhile especially when they lived with us for a few months.
