One of my bucket lists before leaving Oslob was to go to the beach. It's just a nearby beach though but we never dared to go visit it until the cousin from the other house said the water is very nice and calm this morning so we had an early breakfast and headed towards the beach immediately. It was still seven in the morning.
On our way to the beach, we had to enter a mini forest or jungle towards the highway. This area here was still barren the last time we had been to Oslob but today, the vegetation had somehow grown.
We passed the road and my favorite tree, the acacia had given the highway shelter. I am so in love with this kind of tree where its branches are like an umbrella hovering over the entire area and giving a good amount of shelter. I took photos of course.
The road here in Oslob has been tagged as the worst, although the town has good earning from its tourism, they have no budget yet for their road construction. Traveling here is a pain in the ass, it takes some patience and a good amount of pillows to survive their road.
Anyway, at the other side of the road lies the beach but we found out that there's a muddy area here and we have to make a mindful walk to pass it without getting muddy. Also, there's a goat and Matti stopped by to say hi. Goats are friendly but they are also very delicate. Do you know that if they caught themselves in a shrub, they'd just kill themselves? They're a little dumb, sorry for that but it happens a lot of time here, we even have seen one which was caught in a small shrub and was uncautious already, perhaps it felt that it was a hopeless case being stuck there, and just stopped breathing.
So we passed by the muddy part and the glory of the horizon showed up. It's low tide! So the rocky part of the beach was displayed and the sandy areas are not too far from the shore which is good. On a high tide, the waters reach where the walls are. But the water is very calm today, I couldn't even hear any splashes of the water to the shore, but Mr. Sun was also up, it's still seven in the morning but it felt like it's already ten.
The husband prepared for swimming, good thing there's a bench near the shore already. I placed our stuff there, we brought water for Matti in case he gets thirsty, another set of water jugs for him so after swimming, we can wash him with tap water, then we also brought a bag with a camera which I wasn't able to use and my husband's mobile phone too.
The sun's up, it hurts a bit but it was manageable, the water, however, is surprisingly cold, but very clear, clean, and inviting. If my monthly visitor had just not arrived, I'd surely be in the waters too but, I have to pass this opportunity for now.
James and Matti had their moments in the shallow water. James tried to let Matti swim but perhaps the cold water bothered him that's why they just stayed in the shallows. They stayed there for about ten minutes perhaps and when James felt like the heat of the sun was too much already, he decided to get out and go home.
That was a quick one I said as I was writing this article, I wasn't even able to write at least 300 words but anyway, it's time to go back home. I guess it's already late, the sun's heat was just too much.
We took a different route going back home to avoid the muddy path. We decided to check out the fighting chickens at my brother-in-law's land. We used to own this land but when we decided not to live in Oslob, we sold it to the brother-in-law instead.
I thought that was the only time that Matti would enjoy the seawaters of Oslob, but today, the mother-in-law brought Matti with her to the beach again. Gladly, Matti didn't cry while he was away from mama and papa.
That's it for today! We are on the way to Cebu City and I guess I will be sharing our trip with you too through pictures. I am excited!

It's also nice to live in a place that's near to the sea ano?
