Photoblog: Life Beneath the Stone
Hello friends! I am going to share another set of photoblogs again. This time, I am sharing with you some of these shots taken at Osmeña Peak in Dalaguete, Cebu, Philippines.
Isn't it amazing to see plants growing out of a stone?
Amidst the dry and hard times of our lives, we must learn from them, grow and bloom!
I have been to Osmeña Peak twice and was able to only capture photos of the plants on the second visit. Osmeña Peak is a tourist destination in Cebu province specifically located in the town of Dalagauete.
But I am not going to share here the place but the plants and flowers I spotted at the location. We went there early morning and it was still dark. We waited for sunrise and even waited further for we hoped that the thick clouds would disperse so while waiting for that, I took the chance to get some environmental pictures.
What I found were plants and flowers growing above the rocks. I am sure that there's rich soil beneath the rocks and the plants growing just testify this.
There were ferns, plants that we often consider unuseful, and more. They strive and maybe also because of the temperature at its peak, they have survived even on scorching sunny days.
There's a campsite just around the area. Most of the visitors who would visit Osmeña Peak would also camp around and stay overnight. The thick fog that visits the area in early afternoons until the next morning is such a nice thing to embrace especially to those who have been used to staying in the hot city of Cebu.
But of course, the beauty of the landscape showcasing the peaks of these hills is a sight to behold. I am in awe of it and will share that with you in the next blogs.
On the other hand, I'd like to take you to another place in Cebu - Lava Mountain Resort.
In a secluded area in Cebu City, we found serenity and quietness. It's amazing how this resort is still part of Cebu City whilst it already gives us a vibe of a far-off place. This was indeed the perfect place for the retreat we joined.
The above photo was taken early morning when there was fog between coconut trees and the mountain. Living in the city, it is not every day that we could see such a scene so I have to capture it.
Spotted some nuts too in the resort. I know I have to get my husband to show it to me. I still don't know what these nuts are, chestnuts perhaps? Not sure!
These flowers don't need extra care, they just bloom!
Flowers and nature are always fun to take photos of. They don't move so it's easy to use them as subjects but there are also lessons that we as humans can take from them.
Regardless if you are living in the city or in the hillside, we will always have that glimpse of nature, may it be a lone tree or weeds around, take time to look at them and be encouraged as to how they survived without a human being watering them or such. There's a mighty hand who's taking care of them.
That's it for today. If you have time, you may check the previous photoblog as well here:
