I am Glad I Said Yes to Going Out with Hubby and Matti!

Hello readers! How are you all doing today? I am glad it's Friday plus, the hubby's clients in Sweden are on a holiday, so hubby got the chance to be out from work by 4:30 PM. It was his idea that we go out and spend some time in the sun, it was already 4:30 PM though so the sun was not too hot.

Although we are so close to this place, we can't get here most of the time because of so many reasons. I realized today that if we really have the willpower to do what we wanted, it will happen. Today, we just cleared anything that we wanted to do online, including getting an article published. I first said no and just told the hubby to go out with Matti without me but he persisted and so I decided to go as well and I am glad I did!

One good reason why I am glad I did go out was that I witnessed how my little one overcame his fear of walking by himself in slopy areas.

This place is just across our house and it is not very friendly when it's raining as it gets easily muddy. And it's slopy too so kids would most of the time have a hard time walking.

Matti was holding my hand whenever he'd be walking but we encouraged him to walk by himself. We intentionally let his hand go and he was calling mama, papa, unable to take a step but after a few moments, he finally took the step and he was fine going to where I was sitting. I sat on a tree log that had fallen during Typhoon Odette.

Then, he was just walking confidently afterward, he overcome his fear! I am so happy to see him happily walking by himself!

Another thing to be thankful I went out was the fact that I get to see nature and its beauty. Although these flowers are very common and they grow anywhere, they still give us a glimpse of how beautiful nature can be and how these simple things which we often take for granted give us great lessons in life.

Nature strives even without humans helping them out. These flowers are a testament to that!

And the next reason is that I was able to educate the little man about things he often sees on the screen.

Being out means seeing real-life animals and things that he would often just see on the mobile screen or with his toys. One of them was this cow that was grazing. We got closer to it and I asked him what that animal is, he answered well and even was able to answer how this animal sounds.

Aside from that, he also saw bees, dogs, and insects! I felt like we have to get started with our homeschooling soon!

This past few weeks, Matti has been enjoying his bath time because I introduced him to waterfalls. His bathtub has this area where we put the soap but I took the soap container and just placed the shower head there so I can let him see how the water flows. He calls it waterfalls, I'd even trick him to go to the bathroom for bath time by saying we will play with the waterfalls, it works always!

Now as we were walking, we reached the irrigation canal and he was surprised to see the water moving. I gave him the idea of picking up some leaves and other light biodegradable and throwing them into the water.

He enjoyed seeing them float and move. It was a time for educating him about things that float and things that sinks just like when he threw a rock and he didn't see it moving.

And then we headed to the nearby river. We have to pass. by some grassy parts and slide down into this cemented wall to get to the river. There were many areas which were destroyed and a huge tree trunk was left at the center of the river too so we just stayed in this part where there were small stones and it was again Matti's time to play!

He enjoyed picking rocks and throwing them into the water! I guess it's healthy for his motor skills? He could just sit there all day picking the stones and throwing them. I was also having fun taking videos of him and photos of the surrounding.

I am glad I got to go out because I was able to revisit this area. I had a lot of memories of this river back when I was still younger. My friends and siblings would often come here to swim. Although at this point the water is not that deep already, back then, it was deep and we would all swim and enjoy the clear and clean water.

It was time to go back home but as we were about to leave the rice field area, I found another trunk on the ground and this area was just so nice I had to ask the hubby to sit with Matti.

I am glad that I went out today because I was able to capture intimate moments like this one. I just love how this photo makes me emotional.

That's it for today! This was just an hour or so of my afternoon and I didn't regret going out with my husband and little one. It was the best decision I did today plus I was able to also get some exercise walking and climbing! I told my husband that we need more of this and he agreed!

As Matti is growing, he also needs to be exposed outdoors so this is a good start!

Buti nagenjoy si matti. Naalala ko pamangkin ko nung nagpunta kami sa park. First time nya nun tapos masyado ata syang naoverwhelm. Kaya nadeprive ng world ang mga babies na naabutan ng lockdown.

Simple but worthwhile sis. No need to spend a lot of money when you have that kind of place just around your neighborhood.
