Because of the rising number of cases here in our City and few of our workforce have been tested positive, the administration made a strategy on modified lockdown for the university from August 23 to September 5. A memorandum order was declared and signed by the university president. During the modified lockdown, only the identified personnel will be allowed to be on campus and ensure that there will be only 2 personnel per building per day. Minimum health standards should be observed. For document processing and releasing there will be no physical transactions. The requests will be handled online and will be released through the designated pick-up areas on scheduled date.
This management strategy is posing pros and cons. On the positive side, it will lessen contacts of personnel and help to lessen the spread of the virus in the school. Our health is the primary concern, who will work if all of us are infected? complete lockdown should not happen because there are really many transactions that will be affected.
On the other hand, the negative side will be the longer time for processing the requests. Since, there will be a limited workforce, requests will be handled one at a time. Also, although online appointments are handled, there are also transactions that really needs to be physically done. The continuity of transactions is also affected because the undone tasks of one personnel might be continued by the other staff. So the details of the transaction should be properly forwarded to the next personnel in line.
This strategy would really need adjustment in the side of the of the workforce and the clienteles. Patience and understanding to the process is a must. This time of pandemic, we need to work together, fix things together. Now, that classes will also start, communication to our students is very important.
The call for complete online transactions can also be an option. If the university has an online enrolment system, we can just enroll our students online and process them easily. For now, we have a local network for our enrolment, so we really need to go onsite for subject encoding and other transactions related to enrolment.
Our hopes that this strategy would really help lessen the number of cases and that personnel would really adhere to what is prescribed in the memorandum. Hopefully, after the 2 weeks of modified lockdown, there will also be smooth transactions.
Home Quarantine Update
It is our 5th day of Home Quarantine today, we have our RT-PCR test yesterday and we are still waiting for the result. The possible date will be tomorrow (Tuesday or Wednesday). My second child cried during the swab test, I feel pity on them, but this is really the protocol.
Chelle is already transferred in a isolation facility and she is feeling better now. The room is comfortable compared to her last abode which is in the tent only. They are also given food for every meal. Let me share to you the room she sent me.
We are indeed thankful to the efforts of our local government in handling this pandemic. It may not be perfect but we really appreciate their efforts of taking care those who are infected, testing those who are close contacts and isolating the people who are asymptomatic.
