The Covid-19 pandemic had caused the parks to be temporarily closed . The city Baywalk Park where families usually visit for relaxation and have a breath of fresh air also closed their doors for visitors. The time of closure paved the way for improvements. While it was closed the city government initiated renovations and construction works that aims to make it more attractive. They put new landmarks, new lights and even installed a kid's park for the children to play. If I will compare the old baywalk to this new one, based on pictures and what I actually see, I can really say that there was a remarkable improvement. There are still works going on right now.
Just recently, the park has a soft opening, where residents and visitors can come. The City made guidelines for those people who will be entering the vicinity. All ages are welcome provided that there is a vaccination card for those ages with available vaccinations already. If ever the a person wants to go inside and is not vaccinated, a vaccination area is provided for that person to have the vaccine. Well, in a way, it is a vaccine campaign of the city. So here's the photo of the tents where unvaccinated ones will be vaccinated.
Last Sunday, I and my husband happened to pass by and I was able to take some photos. It seems that things becomes normal, there were many people inside the park. There were children and adults. They were happy roaming around, have picture taking, and chit chat with friends.
In the outside, there is an ambulance ready for the some medical emergencies. Personnel from the City Security Unit were also deployed to remind people about social distancing and wearing of masks. Minimum health protocols should be followed properly.
I know if my kids would know about the park being opened specifically the kid’s park, they would be very happy and excited to visit it. They would surely enjoy roaming around and play. However, I have some apprehensions of bringing my kids inside the park, knowing that Covid is not yet over, the risk is still there. Especially now, the place is always crowded with people. I would not like to risk of giving them “panandaliang saya” over a risk of isolating them because of the virus. Well, I am an over thinker sometimes, but I would always choose the “better be safe than sorry”.
Some time, if the situation will normalize, I will bring my kids there for a play. Maybe I would not choose the weekend because weekend would surely mean many visitors. We would have some picture taking and a walk around the park. And I am looking forward for that day.
How about in your place? Are parks already opened? If you have kids, would you bring them to parks or malls for the purpose of leisure? I would love to know your ideas and experiences in the comment section.

that's really nice! seeing that things are slowly being normalized. places like parks is slowly bringing back it's life and that's really nice. From what I've seen on the photos, it's a little bit crowded and so, I may not be a mom, but I would also not take the risk of bringing my nieces and nephews in there. Maybe if there are lesser people, I will.
