Ha! Banana cardava harvest today bound to Bicol. So if you are from Bicol and will be buying cardava banana this week, there is a chance that it’s our produce. I have to tally down the numbers while directly loading it to a huge truck. A wing van.

2000+ kilos of cardava banana sold! That’s a lot. We went home at around 12:00 noon. We are making “lamaw” for our merienda. It is young coconut meat and water, mixed with condensed milk, royal true orange, and crackers. We couldn’t find roasted peanuts.

Two nights ago, my uncle (Nanay’s older brother) passed away. He suffered from brain tumor, highblood pressure and kidney failure. We are about give him a visit tomorrow but after he learned that we were coming, he just smiled and nod. Minutes later he passed away. It broke my heart seeing the funeral rites. Our cousin sent us a video of it. No other people except for the immediate family and people administering the burial grounds. My cousins got swabbed and we are still waiting for the results. If the results will turn out negative then my uncle’s results will be questioned since he died in their home. He died because of the brain tumor and kidney failure. No symptoms of covid-19.

My cousin’s pup is very friendly! He kept on hugging my uncle when we arrived at their home. This is the first time we met a very friendly tied puppy! They tied it because he likes to go outside and my nephew(cousin’s daughter) can’t watch him.

I don’t know the name of this beautiful purple flower. This was at my cousin’s house. We visited her yesterday because she’s sick. She used to be a loud and bubbly person but when I saw her yesterday she’s different. She doesn’t smile a lot. Always complaining about her problems. I think she is depressed and she got anxiety. She can no longer sleep. Her beautiful garden starts to become bushy, and grasses are growing out of her control.

Right after we ate breakfast I got sick. I was totally fine but just a second later I was vomiting, and my head hurts. The young leaves of pumpkin can be cooked! Yep! You read it right. We usually add it to a mungbean soup or make it as a green salad, but today we sautéed it and we added an egg to it. It has been raining since last night. Some parts of the region are experiencing flash floods. Yesterday we planned to fertilizer the bananas but we can’t do it today. Mr. Sun came out but a little bit shy. It’s fine at least it isn’t raining. My boyfriend is out in the field fertilizing the bananas. He got seven sacks of fertilizer to throw, potassium and ammonium. We’ve mixed it the other day but we weren’t able to throw it yesterday on to the bananas because of the bad weather. I wanted an ensaymada but my partner bought this bread which I don’t like. My mistake, I didn’t specify the kind of bread that I wanted. I had been thinking of what to do with it. I saw eggs and mayo and iceberg lettuce in our fridge. I boiled the eggs crushed and mashed it, and added the mayo. Voila! Egg sandwich for merienda.

Nothing feels more comforting than a hot bath after a day of work. My hands are itchy and I got small wounds and scratches. I feel tired and sleepy now but we need to eat first before we can rest. I don’t know how I got a wound on my mid finger. I was cooking dinner, a simple fish stew, and when I finished cooking it I just went outside and sat on the hammock. I noticed it is stinging so I checked it out using the light from my phone and saw it was bleeding. I took moringa leaves and crushed it until the juice came out and put it on the wound. It is still stinging!

Two months ago, this plant almost died! Our chickens seemed to like it. It was a healthy small bushy plant (I don’t know the name). A combination of green and white strips which I love to look at . Well, it is recovering from the brutal beaks of our chickens. By the way, most of the chickens that we had died. We got a solar powered light in the house! A permanent solution for a dark night if there is a power interruption in the area. I can’t sleep with no light. I am not afraid of the dark but I can’t breathe if I can’t see a light. I don’t know but I panic if the lights will go off in the middle of night while I sleep. I can feel it. Cold morning! My sunflowers are growing healthy and well. I got another five of it in a pot and I am taking care of them. So we went in our cardava banana field to ‘clean’ but we ended up gathering firewoods! Well, it is still sort of a cleaning task since we remove the branches and the vines along the boundary. Our bananas will be happy now to see the sun everyday at that side of our farm. I ain’t too happy to see the grasses! They’re getting tall! I’ve checked our sweet potatoes and I was able to get a few of it. I’ll fry it tomorrow for our snacks.

It was a warm and sunny day——- that was early. It’s raining hard right now. We are home and Lala is having her nap time. I had to leave my boyfriend on our way home. It started to drizzle, I got on my bicycle, and paddle as fast as I could while my poor puppy running behind me. No worries, boyfie is safe from getting soaked under the pouring rain. My niece’s pet fishes in an old fridge are growing in numbers. Last week we discovered that there are tiny little fishes swimming together with the other mature fishes. Today, there new little fishes! Baby fishes! They’re so cute, and swimming at the bottom. We haven’t cleaned the aquarium yet, we don’t want to disturb the baby fishes. My niece is so happy when she saw it. I think we’ll need a new and bigger aquarium.

I picked these while it was drizzling early in the morning. I made a vegetable stew and added the leftover grilled fish last night. I sautéed the bittergourd with beaten eggs. Voila! That was our breakfast. From farm to table. We’ll be planting more vegetables in the weeks to come and I am adding a crop to my list. My sister offered us to plant their .5 hectare of land with corn in exchange of nothing but to keep it clean. We can do that!

I put my faith in Shopee again. Hahaha! This time, I set my mailing address to North Cotabato. At my our home. Our eldest is an online seller, and she made friends with the couriers at our area. Well that’s our the ceiling in our terrace. We bought this laser Christmas light thing three years ago and we are still using it. The remote control doesn’t work anymore. Last year it was working fine. I can stare at this light for hours.

Now that the old system of tipping is back, I wonder if heart tips still work or will still work. Newbies will surely get confused about it. Those days are back when we fear of being tagged as a spam if we can’t see the free tips (hahaha). Whatever the reasons are why the developers made this decision, it will surely be for the good of the platform.

So ayun nga sa terrace kami natulog. Walang gastos sa kuryente kasi di nagamit ang electric fan. Wala naman masyadong lamok kasi baka giniginaw din ang mga lamok. Hahaha! Pamangkin ko yan, tulog na tulog pa. Katabi ang paborito niyang stuffed toy. Dati pag natutulog kami andaming nakatabi na mga laruan. Naka arrange pa mga yan. Ngayon isa na lang. Lumalaki na din siya.

Our eldest had finally put up a store! Four years ago she started doing an online business. She was then a reseller of my friend. Shoes, ready to wear items and anything na pwede niya pagkakitaan. Then she started to build her market. She bought steamers and started to make puto-cheese and kutchinta. My nephew is getting impatient because of this weather. I asked him to let the clothes dry under the sun but after a few minutes it rained. Then the sun will shine again and he’ll get the clothes out to dry and then it’ll rain again. He did this for four times and on the fifth he said “dili na ko, tita! Samok ang ulan”. Hahahaha! I told him to hang the clothes at the back of our house and few more here in front.

Watching a movie titled Max. This scene made me cry! An ever loyal companion until his hooman died in a battle. I am a dog lover too and we used to have a pup named Max. He was a Lab, friendly and playful! He died this year. He was old and was no longer able to get up on his own. We buried him at the backyard.

The sun had shine this afternoon and our laundry dried up. Yay!! We still need the warm sunshine and the warm weather to at least give the soil time to absorb the water. A rainy but happy morning everyone! It’s my boyfriend’s birthday today. We went to the town to buy his cake and of course to get a haircut for him. He’d been grouchy since he woke up. Not in the mood today to celebrate I guess. Lol! Anyway, I will still make this day memorable to him and keep him happy the whole day. Hahaha!

Nagtalo pa kami niyan dahil sa cake. Hahaha! Eh ayaw niya kasi magastos na daw. Jusme! Ayaw talaga sana niya ng handaan but I insisted para naman maiba and at least may bagong memories sa birthday niya. Last year kasi, umuwi pa yung brother niya na may dalang cake and gift for him. We are failing Mother Earth. This is the reason why I bought a lot of washable face mask even before the pandemic happened because of my allergic rhinitis and asthma.
