How do you spend your time?
Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend. ~Theophrastus
There is just so much to do and sometimes it feels like twenty fours a day is not enough to achieve our daily goals.
Especially now that doing things in the convenience of our abode is now very easy with the help of our mobile phones.
You can just do almost everything with your cellphone. Nowadays, you don't have to buy a disk before you can watch a movie. You can just watch it on Netflix, YouTube or just download it on a Telegram channel.
Even communication is now made not just possible but very easy all thanks to cellphones. One day, my aunt was telling us (my friends and I) of how her parents had to wait days before her message could get to them.
She is from Kwara state and she schooled in Kaduna state which is very far. There was no cellphone then so she had to write a letter to her parents to let them know she arrived at her destination successfully. It also took days for their reply to get back to her.Can you just imagine that?
But now, so long you have a phone with a sim card or cards in it, you can just make a call to just anybody, even the president of your country. Just that, he might not pick up.
Mobile phones has helped bridge the communication gap between a whole lot of people.
But if we are not careful, obsession will set in especially for social media apps like Tiktok, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter.
For instance, you tell yourself you just want to watch let's say five videos on Tiktok but after five videos, you promise yourself to watch another five and the cycle continues. The only time you stop is when you are alerted of data warning or when you have exhausted your data.
Now, don't get me wrong. These apps are very good actually. But it is just the excessive use of it that is bad. The more you surf the internet, the longer you want to stay there which may sooner or later affect other areas of your life. It can cause you to lag behind in some things.
But talking about it won't help although it is a way around it. Taking steps to see we do not just what is pleasurable but right is a good start.
It is important to set your own goals and find a way to achieve them. ~Yuichiro
Have clearly defined goals: This would help a lot. You are not just living life; you know exactly what you want and you are going for it and working towards it daily. That's the aim.
Time takes it all, whether you want it or not. ~Stephen King, The Green Mile.
Reduce your screentime: There is just so many chats to reply, so many new released movies to watch and so many interesting videos to watch. At the same time, there are lots of goals left unachieved.
You can set the amount of time you want to use on an app daily. This will help minimize the not-so-necessary things you do on your phone.
Freezer: Almost every phone I have come across has a freezer where you can just store or freeze apps for the time being. You don't keep food in the freezer because it is bad but because it is not presently needed. Apps that distract you when you are trying to attend to a very important thing can just be frozen with just one click.
The year is not over yet. We can still make the most of what we have left.
Thanks for reading π. Have a good night y'all...
Yes my friend true that's why we should always put ourselves a limit because too much spending on a one thing is not good also.
