Welcome 2023
Happy New Year to you 🎉 I hope the feeling of excitement that has been flying around about the new year hasn't died down yet? Let's keep being happy. I believe the year would be great.
**What's the New Year to you?**
The New year can be just another year, ordinary days like every other day. This is how some people see it.
It can also be a brand new year and by new, I mean new in all ramifications. A new mindset, new resolutions, new character... It's you trying to be completely different or better than you were the previous years.
I would not want you to bore you with all of these as you would have most likely heard, seen or read a lot of things about New Year resolutions. Still, don't forget to ask yourself what the new year means to you.
How about we keep on with this energy even to the middle of this year? How about we set those goals and make sure we achieve them? How about we stop doing the right thing only when we feel like and start doing it whether or not it's comfortable?
**It's easier said than done.** I guess that is the answer to all of my questions. But it can be done anyways right? **It can still be done.**
**Hi Readcash**
I might have abandoned this platform and given up on coming here in the past year (I'm guilty, I know... I hope I'm pardoned?😁). I have different reasons to give like school resuming, Rusty absence, etc. but they are all excuses. I am not the only busy person, there are many busy people like @jane, @olasquare, @coolmidwestguy and so many users and they still try to show up here. They are great motivators I must say (write).
My resolve for 2023 is to do better especially in reading, writing daily and adding to this great community of bloggers in whatever way I can. My simple plan is to show up as much as I can here.
I hope to have more followers/subscribers too. There is no specific number I have in mind but it increasing will surely make me happy.
**Earnings**
Read cash has no doubt helped me in so many ways. I have been able to sort a lot of things out with the earnings made here. I hope this does not stop. 🥂 To more money in 2023.
Writing here has to a large extent made me independent and helped hone my writing skills which is still a work in progress.
**How about God?**
*Thank God for life and for another 365 days.*
The greatest need of every believers is His spiritual need. You prayed in 2022? Please, don't stop in 2023. There is nothing like 'overpraying'. And most importantly, let's keep asking for that grace to keep living for Jesus every day of our lives. Also, never forget that God loves you genuinely 😊
With that being said (typed), I wish y'all a prosperous and an awesome new year. Plus, my two front teeth are still very okay and eating meat especially chicken will make them sharp... 😅
I typed it on the night of the New Year and the time is now 22:46 Pm. I have to be fast so it does not exceed today... Don't mind me.
Thank you very much for reading and see you around 🥰
Go To Twitter
Hello fam❣️ Happy Friday. Today I will be answering two prompts questions that I found online and they are interesting questions. I would like to share write and share them with you.
Go to Twitter or Facebook and write about the first post you see.
This is the first prompt question. I have not visited any of these apps today and I was not too sure about which to visit first. But I later made a choice, I went to Twitter first.
And Ta-da 😁 this was the first post I came across...
It is a tweet by Lola Okunrin and it was tweeted an hour ago. I don't follow this guy but because those (PJ The Light of Yahweh and Abba's Daughter) I follow liked it, that is why it appeared on my home page.
His tweet is directly referring to second borns or a second born. He is suggesting that every second born has a sharp mouth. That is they are never the quiet ones or perhaps they insult a lot or you will actually think they are the first born with the way they talk. I find this very funny.
I find it funny because of the way he put it. I think his tweet is a fallacy. For him to have said that it means he would have seen a lot of second-borns with long, bad and sharp mouth or he might have just seen one. I can't tell. I don't know is that is how their second born behaves or if he is even the second born and he is just referring to himself.
It's a fallacy because not every second borns are like that. For instance, my brother who is the second born is a gentle soul. He is neither dense nor lousy; he is just cool. Also, he does not have a bad mouth and he is still the second born.
If I am to tweet like Lola Okunrin, I would say second borns are very cool because I tweeted from my own experience. But this was said based on my own judgement and because of this I try to generalize and believe that because my brother who is the second born is cool and without a bad mouth so every second born is like that or has to be that way. Meaning it is based on a personal reasoning and it is not a fact.
Still, I don't want to go too far in evaluating this tweet without remembering that it is just a tweet. It might be done just to get a lot of likes, to make people engage or to just make one laugh and point out those second borns that actually exist with a bad mouth.
If he had said last borns are very good in billing most especially their elder ones, I would have totally agreed because guy they are good and have sweet mouths. I am the last born and I am not like that 🙃 trust me. But seriously, if we don't go to our big brothers and sisters for help, who are our very family, who else who are as close as them can we go to?
You see the last paragraph here is also a fallacy. There are actually last borns that don't like depending on any one no matter who they are.
Sooooo my conclusion is that we talk based on what see happen a lot to people around us.
This is already very long. I mentioned I would be answering two questions but I don't want this to be too long. I will write about that some other time.
Until then, take care 🥰
Thanks for reading la famille🎉
And School Resumes...
After eight/nine good months of staying at home, we finally resumed today. It is nine months for 200 and 300 level students but eight months for final year students.
**How do I feel about this?**
I feel mixed emotions. I'm happy that I get to go back to school and continue studying because we have already lost an academic session as a result of the strike.
My course is a four-year course but right now it has already exceeded that and I don't want them to waste our precious time by delaying us.
Another reason I am happy about resuming is because of my friends, I miss them so much and I can't wait to see them 😔
One thing that amazes me is the way parents reacted happily when they heard we were resuming soon. Are they tired of having us around or what? Their enthusiasm is even more than ours.
Unilorin is a Federal University and it is a very good school. They have qualified teachers, good lecture rooms and halls, a wide land mass, a well-stocked library and many others. Yes, I am advertising my school.
But let me warn you, you have to be prepared to go through a lot of stress. It will be worse if you are living off campus because you have to struggle to get into and out of the school.
But it will be worth it in the end as long as one have a goal, a determined mind and consistently making sure that you never relent.
*Better by Far*
*That is the motto of my school. Let me run you through our school anthem.*
*In love, peace and harmony*
*We shall build the tower*
*Unilorin, hear the Clarion call*
*In unity we grow*
*Committed to the seat of our learning*
*Our hearts far from vanity*
*(The beat becomes fast here)*
*Standing firm in wisdom*
*In knowledge and in truth we honour your virtue, Unilorin*
*We stand in strength and pride*
*Standing, winning, building, praying*
*Showing the way for all who care*
*Making a future for the ones who follow*
*Rising highhhh we must never turn*
*Ilorin, Unilorin*
*Your thought has guided us upward and onward*
*Ilorin, Unilorin*
*Our Alma Mata we sing*
https://youtu.be/sYz9sR6G1VU
Now, the journey continues. I wish every student still in school here on read cash outstanding success.
Soooo I was going to write about a different topic today but I ended up going for this instead. I will publish that one tomorrow, God's willing. Hope our day went well?
Thanks for reading 🥰
Choose your addiction
We are all addicted to something which may be good or bad. There is always something that takes the bigger space in our heart and willingly or unwillingly we just find ourselves doing that particular thing.
When we hear the word addiction, what is the first thing that comes to our mind? Bad things right. Like smoking, drinking alcohol, pornography and the likes.
But what about those things that are literally good but we overdoing it makes it bad. You have become so used to doing it that you won't feel okay until you do that thing. It can be just anything. Like chatting, watching movies, playing games, etc.
These things become bad when you do it and in the long run, the value or the result you get from it is not helpful for your growth.
I love playing games a lot especially on my phone. There is this particular game that became my favorite. As at the time, I had other games on my phone but I only loved playing this game and I did 24/7 literally.
The game is about bringing out words from letters. It allows me to think well. Later I found myself doing no other thing than playing it when I'm free. Then I graduated from that and started playing it in class whenever the class is boring convincing myself that I could do both listening and playing game together.
Even in the church, I am always on it. Then it kept me awake at night and whenever I sleep early, I make sure by midnight I wake up to play it. And it is not like I am getting paid or it is adding anything to *me. This is an addiction right?*
Now, playing games is not bad at all but should only be done once in a while (except it's a full-time job).
We might not be quick to realize it but whatever we do daily/often becomes part of us. It becomes a habit and later develops into an addiction.
Thank God I realized mine quickly. I discovered that my addiction to it has been rubbing me of many things, most especially my time. So I left it slowly by putting my energy into something else which looking back now, has been very beneficial to me.
Nothing in itself is addictive; it is your doing it every single time that makes it so. It is your love for it, the passion you have for it and you dedicating your time to it that makes it addictive.
I hope we make better choices here. So choose your addiction and choose right ❤️
I've been away for some time now. What has been happening? Is there any new update?

Why I want to write
*I think all writing is a disease. You can't stop it. ~William Carlos*
It's the weekend again and yet another week without any visit from Rusty. I hope he has not said his final goodbye because he is greatly missed.
Nevertheless, we have to keep writing and keep engaging. It is already a regular thing for some people and a day can't pass without them writing. Kudos to them. I hope I can keep up too.
**How My Week Went**
I am happy with the way my week went. I was able to read more articles than that of last week. It is a winning week.
In terms of money, this week has been good. With the ongoing world cup #Qatar 2022, a lot of apps have been giving bonuses and rewards on transactions made.
Apps like Palmpay, Letschat and Binance. These are just the ones I know of. I was able to win a total of N1700 airtime within the space of three days on Letschat by just predicting who is gonna win in the next day match. At first, I thought it was betting but betting without staking money or any other valuable item cannot be called betting. By predicting, sharing to friends and also asking them to boost, I was able to win that much.
On Palmpay, you also stand a chance to win a tangible amount on every transaction and also by joining team battles. This app is a paycom which you can use to pay for bills like electricity, TV and you can also use it to buy airtime.
You get free airtime coupon on signing up. You can use my referral link to sign up if interested:. https://link.palmpay.com/
Back to why I want to write. I want to write now that school have not resumed and I still kind of have the time to do so now. If I am not consistent now, it will be very hard then. If I can make it a habit now, I will always want to come back here.
The other reason is solely because of money. Money is needed and very important. The earnings gotten from here and the other blogging platforms are actually very useful. The joy of doing what you like and getting paid for it is very motivating.
And gradually, December is coming to an end. Ohhy you think it is too early to say this but you too look at it, today is the third day. I hope we achieve our goals and see our dreams come true this month even though it was take us working hard but I know we can do it and we will surely do it.
Happy weekend once again ❤️ Enjoy the rest of your day.

Some childhood memories
Has this happened to you before? Thinking about childhood and the funny memories that came with it. A lot of times I just sit down and reminisce on the past—my very own childhood—and it just makes me smile because then we were so young, free and mindless.
We were also did mostly whatever we are told to do whether instructed by our parents or teachers. Although, some people are not like this, they are the stubborn type.
I can still remember how nice it was to have neighbourhood friends to play it especially during holidays and there was just enough time to play as many games as wished like hide and seek, ice and water, who stole the meat from the kitchen pot, daddy and mommy by using pillows as babies and making food with sand and leaf. Gosh! We were stupid or should I say we were naive instead.
I can as well recall how serious discipline was considered having but every child which is usually instilled by the parents or guardian. Not that I'm old but children born these days are still kind of lucky—all they have ever suffered is light treatment.
Then there were certain rules given to us that we just had to obey. We had no choice. I used to fear my parents then not now I just respect them and fear God because that way even if they are not around, I won't try to do anything secretly bad.
To the rules... The first is to already either by kneeling or prostrating whenever you see them in the morning. I guess this normal and it's just about showing courtesy.
The second one which I hated then is changing to mofty as soon as you return from school. Then, immediately I get home, I will drop my bag, go straight to the kitchen to get my food and then eat without putting off my school uniform, socks, shoe and just everything. I actually had a reason for this and that is, showering. I like to take my bath when I get back from school but I know I'm going to sweat whenever I eat. That is why I opted for eating lunch first before I took my bath.
Another rule is that you must always say no when offered something or better still we were told to put it like this, "***Thank*** ***you, I'm filled"***when offered food, snacks or drinks. And make sure you don't state too much at them as they are eating otherwise they will think you have '*ojukokoro'(that* is, one is covetous).
For money, if the person is a stranger, it is an absolute NO. Don't try stretching your hand. If it is someone you know like a family member or a family friend and the person offers you money, you are to tell them not to worry. If your parents are there during this time and from their expression you can see that they are smiling, just stylishly take the money, thank and bless the person. It means trouble is not waiting to manifest after the visitor leaves.
Let me wrap it up here. Back then knowing that December is around the corner excite us. Discovering that Christmas is on a particular day that is so near gladdens our heart. Not just because of the food, cloth or the families that will be present but because of money. Then, parents help their children keep their money just that they never give it back. So, Christmas was that time to have and keep big money. Whenever we share food around, some people are generous to give we the kids change-a little amount of money. And we might be lucky, we can get more than just change.
The joy we go home with because of that money is usually different. Particularly me, I would have listed the number of cheese balls, chewing gum, fried coconut, milk candy and sweets I wanted to buy or target winning the biggest balloon😅The boys usually use their money to buy toy(s) or cellotape always claiming to build something. That's basically why our parents didn't like us having a lot of money with us because they know we will spend it on frivolous things.😬
But thank God for this discipline that looked very hard then. Maybe we would have become pick pocketers or something worse.
What about you? The silly but funny things about your childhood, do you still remember them?
Indeed, time waits for no man and we grow every single day and each time a second passes, our age too increases.
Let's not forget to be and remain children at heart—humble, innocent, having a good conscience and quick to forgive.

Things I am grateful for this month
The little things also matter and I remain grateful for those things. It is the last day in the month of November and a time to reflect on all that happened, things achieved and all the lessons learnt.
The first thing I am grateful for is life. I am grateful to God for the breath of life. Countless lives have been lost this year. Who am I not be grateful for life? Even though I am not where I wish to be but at least I'm not where I used to be.
Another thing I am thankful for is my writing journey here on read cash. For the earnings I have made so far and the fact that it has helped me when I needed money the most gladens my heart. I can help out with some things at home and also get personal stuffs for myself like sanitary pads, perfume, ear piece, body and hair cream.
Also, this month, I got introduced to Noise app and Hive just that I'm still finding my way around there.
I am grateful because my academics has been going well so far. Even though ASUU(Academic Staff Union of Universities) and the Federal government tried to waste everybody's time but thank God the strike has been called off.
I am also thankful for the kind of friends I have. I am glad they are succeeding and doing well. They are just very helpful and the best kind of friends anyone would wish to have. Let's just say, I'm lucky to have met them. The one that writes now has her articles and stories posted by two big magazines. The other one that is into business, her business is flourishing well. I'm happy everyone is doing something with their life and not just sleeping, waking up and eating Semo.😬
I love the kind of family I have though they might have their other side, I still love them. Look at me saying I love them, if I don't, it is not like I have another family😌
And with this, I say, welcome December ✨ We have been waiting for you and here you are.
It is the last month. I look forward to doing better. I hope I become more consistent in whatever thing I do, set achievable goals and work towards them like posting an article here daily and making quality engagement. I have seen people do it and stocked to it. So by December 31st, my goal is to have published 31 articles without fail.
Enjoy this very last night of November whichever way you wish because you deserve it. You have come a long way, you have worked hard, did your best, you might have even got tired of the whole thing and stopped trying but I just want you to know that you are still doing great. You can take that break just don't stop there. Don't keep trying. Never stop believing and never forget that God's got your back. 🥰
Till tomorrow. Sleep well and happy new year in advance ✨
Losing or Gaining Weight, which is hard?
A person's characteristics can be in form of height that means you can be tall, short or of average height. A person can also be slim and slender or chubby and fat as well. We can't all be the same; people are in sizes.
Let's go to the question of the day which is: Losing weight or gaining weight which is hard?
**Gaining Weight**
No, this is not the option I go for.
I have heard a lot of people say that to gain weight is harder than to lose it. As the latter can be easily achieved by watching one's weight, exercising, taking lemon with warm water and a lot more.
But gaining weight according to those people is very difficult. And these kind of people interested in adding some flesh go to the gym, eat large portions of food especially those that have high calories. That means not everyone you meet or see at the gym is there to lose weight.
Naturally, when you see slim people especially those with with small statures, you assume they are still very young. Meanwhile, they might even be older than you. That might be part of the reason some people decide to gain weight; they no longer want to be looked down on or asked every single time if they eat at all or have to slim fit their clothes so as to get their perfect size.
And the funny thing about this life is that (most) slim people envy those that are chubby while those that are chubby or should I say fat wish to have a slim body with a flat tummy and a nice shape.
**Losing Weight**
This is a determination to become fit and getting fit. All those fats, big thighs and arms will be reduced. There seems to be more people working towards losing weight than the ones trying to gain it. Losing weight requires a lot of determination to achieve the desired result. And as we all know that determination is work. You have to be willing to sacrifice a lot of things, to learn how to say no when offered food that does not align with your diet which includes cutting out junks, to walk, jog and also engage in workouts.
For me, I think losing weight is harder than gaining it. I see gaining weight as enjoyment because you get to eat double of whatever you like. Although, it requires some liftings so as to build your muscles.
Whichever one it is we desire to see happen, let's keep choosing body fitness. It helps and can also affect our health.
Exercising generally is good for both young and old, rich and poor, for just anybody whether gaining weight is your priority or losing it.
That is why I recommend walking. It is the simplest form of exercise. 30 minuinsteadtes a day of walking can do something in your life. And even if you cannot walk for that long, start with any minutes you can, it is still better than doing nothing. Before you know it, walking will no longer be a stressful exercise but instead very enjoyable.
There are even apps that help count your steps as you walk. You will be paid coins for doing this which can be converted to cash. This will make it more fun. Apart from this, setting the number of walks you would like to take daily or weekly really matters a lot. Walking Joy app gives you something similar to this.

Did you go to church?
Happy Sunday Lovelies 😍 It is another week and also the last week in the month of November. December is here already...
My church holds two services; first service starts by 7AM while second service starts by 9AM which makes it four hours for both services. Workers are meant to wait for both services. It is actually compulsory. For regular members, you can choose to wait for both or just attend one.
I really enjoyed today's service. In my church, every last Sunday of the month is usually our variety service. The service includes thanksgiving to God, child dedication, quiz and other games.
Those that wedded yesterday came to church to do thanksgiving and those that also gave birth or those that celebrated their birthdays this month also came out to dance and praise God. And even whatever you are thanking God for no matter how minute it is, you can still go out and thank God because we were told when we thank God for His finger, we will surely see His hand.
For other varieties we had quiz. About ten people were selected to participate in this quiz. For the questions asked, some verses of the scripture were called and if you can tell where it is found in the Bible you earn a point. While some, only phrases were picked and who did this questions were also asked.
Lastly, teenagers, preteens and toddlers continued with their rehearsal in preparation for the upcoming Christmas Carol celebration which will be done on the 17th of December. I can't wait to snap with Santa Claus A.K.A Father Christmas and wear red and white or is it red and green? Whichever one it is, I still can't wait.
Yes, the service went well. The regular thing done in every other service was also done. Things like praise and worship, prayer, testimony, announcement, offering, preaching, welcoming of first timers and thanksgiving praise again. Just like I mentioned above, the last Sunday is usually about thanksgiving. We sang, clapped, danced, danced and danced. Who are we not to be grateful?
And guess what? People came in their best especially in native attires with gélé widely tied on the head of the women while the men wore caps. But the men had to leave their head open inside the church which means they had to remove their kind in honour to God. But ladies are free.
How are services done in your church? Is it like mine? It does not have to be as long as you love it.
And since is Sunday, I wish to sleep but I don't feel like sleeping probably because I am not used to afternoon naps. It is good though since I can use that time to do other things like what I am doing right now. If I had slept, I would not have been able to write this article until I woke up which will most likely be in the evening.
Have a splendid week ahead ✨
School Challenges
One repeated challenge I faced in school was favoritism. I used '**faced**' because it happened back when I was in secondary school. Secondary school is called high school in some countries. This challenge was caused by me and had a direct effect on me. I call it **favoritism**.
This is when you prefer someone or something above other people or things that matter to you as well. In my case, it is my teachers first and the subjects they take. I preferred some subjects more than some. I enjoyed some classes while I managed not to sleep off in others and I was happy whenever I heard the bell rang signifying a change of class, at the expense of my very own success.
Let's take maths for an example. I used to see the subject Mathematics as a very difficult one. I tried not to fail it but my grade was not that high as the others. I did not get above a 'C'in it. I tried to find a fault in the teacher and used that as my excuse for not passing well.
Apart from that, Maths teachers are known to be very strict. I still don't know why. Maybe it's because they are teaching an hot-cake subject. They are just too skilled in beating students. Which gave me another reason to hate this subject with passion.
This went on and on until I entered senior secondary School. I preferred going to art and not science or even commercial. But it seemed I was stuck with maths forever since it is a general subject and must be done by everybody. And just like Junior secondary school, I managed to pass through. But I can't keep managing forever.
I later changed my mindset and that was when I started improving in this particular subject.
I learnt many things from this. The first is never to hate or dislike any teacher. Teachers have different teaching styles and some are just better at it. I had to remind myself that I was not in school or in class to get entertained but to learn. And whether or not I passed well, the teacher will get his full pay as long as it is not a mass failure.
Another thing I learnt is to like the subject as well. I should never hate any subject. It is very simple, when you like something, you get drawn to that thing and whatever is required of you to do, you do it with excitement.
Also, I learnt that all subjects require extra attention and equal dose of hard work. Neither is mathematics is superior to other subjects nor are other subjects inferior to it. They are all unique in their own ways and needed to be applied in every areas of life.
What were the challenges you faced in school? Were you able to overcome them? You can kindly talk about it in the comment section.
Thanks for reading 😍
You don't mind, do you?
This is an interview, a get to know me kind of article. I was invited to participate in this challenge by a very wonderful friend @NanV. You can read about hers here: https://read.cash/@NanV./the-interview-36e85b5a.
The originator of this interview is @LeonaReed . She asked a series of questions and invited a lot of people to answer. You can check it out here: https://read.cash/@LeonaReed/the-interview-a-day-with-the-readcash-users-e1e9df67
Let's get into it. Our first question is, **Would you like to share your real name with the read. cash family?**
Of course yes. My real name is Mercy. My full name is Omotosho Mercy Faderera in full. Mercy and Mercury aren't the same. I just decided to use it because my friend keeps calling me Mercury instead of Mercy. I ended up accepting and liking it. So when I signed up on read cash I decided to use it.
**What about your place,** including country or only country, please? Of course **place of birth and current place**, if you don't mind?
I am from Nigeria and that is where I live. I was born and bred in Kwara state. I'm currently staying in Kwara state as well. This is where I have lived all my life.
The readers would also expect **your age,** or in other cases, some would love to know **your birthday** as well. Would you prepare to tell them? Don't ask mine...sshhssshh... Girls don't reach 20... And I'm still so young 😂
Very funny. Don't worry I won't ask. I would not mind sharing my age. I think I have shared it before. And just like you I am not up to 20😊. I was born on the 27th of October in the year 2005. That makes me seventeen years old. I can't believe it, why am I growing so fast? Lol.
Some users are confused about **your** **sex/gender**, will you prepare to disclose it?
Ohh you didn't know? I am a female not a male or a robot. I love being a girl. Girls are unique. Guys don't be jealous.
Hope you are enjoying the interview. To the next question, **What do you do for a living?**
The skill I monitise is bead making. I am a student and my customers are mostly students. I write articles here on read. cash and make money from it as well.
**Why and when did you exactly join read. cash?**
I joined read. cash in the middle of this year. My phone got stolen and since my seedphrase was stored on my phone, I could no longer access it. It took about three months before I was able to use a browsing phone. I did not open an account on read. cash immediately but after a month I decided to go for it. Here I am.
I joined because I was looking for ways to earn money. I joined a group and we were taught how to sign up and post articles here that was when I first got to know about read cash. Thanks to @Gaftekloriginal for helping out and to other people that took out time to help me when I was still a newbie.
Being one of the senior members of the read family, **What advice will you give to the audience (readers), especially those who are new to the crypto world and/or to read. cash?**
I will say they should never give up, even when the tips are low. And when the tips are motivating, they should not relent. They should just enjoy their being here. It is very wonderful here you get to meet people from all spheres of life and you also get to read great minds through their works.
I hope we are not tired?😁 Last but not the least, **What was the question I should have asked you, which I didn't ask you and you would like to ask yourself and answer as well?**
I don't really know but if the audience have any question for me, I would gladly answer them in the best way I can.
I would like to invite @Bilqees , @Princessbusayo , @TheGuy , @Ruffa , @Kacy01, @Jramona and every other interested person to participate in this interview.
I rest my case.
I hope you enjoyed reading every bit of it? Let me know what you think about it in the comment section. Thanks for your time 😍
What is this world turning into?
"The gift of a bad man can bring no good." — Euripides
There seems to be more evil than good these days. The rate at which crime is increasing in our society today is very alarming and seriously needs to be checked. And the scary thing about it is that these bad things happen to good and innocent people.
On Thursday evening, I was told about a very criminal offence. Just because you have a disease does not mean everybody has to have it too or just because you experienced a very bad thing does not make it a yardstick for everyone to go through the same.
Let me get to the point. A lady was arrested by the police because she shared a very communicable disease to everyone that tasted her product. She sells zobo and her Zobo is known to be very rich in quality and at the same time cheap.
Zobo is called Hibiscus in English. You drink the juice by boiling it. Then you soft the juice from it. Add sugar and any flavor of your choice then cool in the refrigerator. People prefer to drink this instead of carbonated drinks since it is very natural.
Back to the story. This lady discovered that she had contracted HIV. So she cut herself daily and inject the blood into the Zobo she sells. And you know HIV spreads via blood transfusion meaning everyone who drinks the Zobo might likely have HIV too.
No wonder some people don't like to drink or eat in public. They prefer to prepare it at home by themselves using good water and quality ingredients.
We have to be very careful by making sure that what we are consuming will in no way have side effects and affect our body.
I know of a very big restaurant not too far from where I live, their food tastes really good. The restaurant itself is very clean just as it should be. A close relative of mine worked in their kitchen a few years ago. He was placed in the kitchen. He said their kitchen is the opposite of how the restaurant itself is—dirty.
He said the owner of the shop whenever she is around adds leftovers to the untouched food. Whether it is rice or soup she will add it back. She claims she doesn't want it to waste once asked by a member of her staff. Imagine buying such food, just imagine. It means you are eating another person's leftover and still paying for it! Which is so uncalled for and inappropriate.
This is not to discourage us from eating outside. You can do a background check before you go ahead and eat something. You can even ask around from people about the neatness of the person who cooked the food or the place you are buying it from.
Don't be deceived by the flamboyant packaging, a lot is going on in the background.
And lastly, don't forget to eat healthy so as to live healthy.

Busy! Busy! Busy!
*"The only thing standing between you and your outrageous success is continuous progress." —Dan Waldschmidt*
I have been very busy lately in the real world which affected greatly my activeness here on Read cash. The last time I published an article was two days ago.
I would like to share what I have been up to for the past two days. Keep reading.
A job offer came up. It is not a real though and It is just for a while—three days actually. In Nigeria, we have three major sim networks—MTN, GLO and AIRTEL. MTN which is everywhere you go while GLO is the grandmaster of data and lastly AIRTEL which is the smartphone network. These are just their unique mottos.
So, I was given this job by my uncle who works with AIRTEL. He is in marketing department meaning his job involves selling/distributing the company's products. He distributes Mifis, Router and Sims in bulk. I just want us to understand what I really did that is why I am adding this.
My sister actually feels I'm not doing anything because I'm always on my phone and since we have not yet resumed in school, so she told my uncle to start giving me sims to register. Can you imagine?
Well, since it involves money and I will get paid for my time and work, I did not mind.
I am to generate the Sims by writing out their numbers one after the other and I was given five hundred Sims in total. That's a whole lot.
Not only that, I was given just three days to complete it because it was needed urgently.
There is no how I can finish it all by myself. Thank God my brother and friend showed interest and helped out. They did 100 Sims each while I faced the bulk of it. Of course, they will get paid too.
Sorry, I forgot to mention how much it is we are getting per sim. It is N10 per sim. That means whatever you do multiplied by ten is what you get. As little as it might seem, it's still something.
But something about it is that it requires one's full attention since one is dealing with numbers. One mistake can affect one's progress.
Anyways, since I started doing it two days ago I had to forgo other things to make sure I finish it on time. My phone was part of it. I had to suspend every activity so as to concentrate very well on the task ahead.
After I did my devotion and finished my house chores, I started doing the Sims immediately. I did not stand up until when I was feeling hungry which was around 3 pm.
When I took up my phone my mom was there and she told me to forget about my phone for now but I explained to her that I wanted to check my portal since I heard that they have started releasing the last session's results. On checking, I saw that they've released about four of them. They were all fine... Thank God.
I was able to finish 100 Sims on the first day which is actually my target. But it was already getting dark and we had to prepare dinner. I ate and slept off almost immediately.
The second day which was yesterday, almost the same thing happened. I was able to finish a hundred Sims as well. By the time I stopped, it was already in the evening. We cooked and ate. I had to prepare for the next day since we will be going to church. Which makes it two days like that.
I went to church today. Since Christmas is around the corner, preparations for Carol has started. I joined choir which means I will be singing, backing up precisely on that day. We rehearsed two songs; the first one is The first Noel by Maverick City and the other one is Keresimesi Yi maa de which is a Yoruba song. We will continue next Sunday.
I'm still working on the last hundred Sims. But on getting home I decided not to let today pass without me visiting read cash. I read as many articles I could and drafted this. I did not want to start this week with levity.
Now I know why it is very important to have as many drafts as how I can make because of days like this. Although, I can read other articles posted two days before but I can't go back and post.
However, I am very glad happy because of the tips I received from my last article from Rusty and from nice people here too. It motivated me. A big thanks to y'all🥰
🍻 Cheers to a productive and rewarding week.
How do you spend your time?
Time is the most valuable thing a man can spend. ~Theophrastus
There is just so much to do and sometimes it feels like twenty fours a day is not enough to achieve our daily goals.
Especially now that doing things in the convenience of our abode is now very easy with the help of our mobile phones.
You can just do almost everything with your cellphone. Nowadays, you don't have to buy a disk before you can watch a movie. You can just watch it on Netflix, YouTube or just download it on a Telegram channel.
Even communication is now made not just possible but very easy all thanks to cellphones. One day, my aunt was telling us (my friends and I) of how her parents had to wait days before her message could get to them.
She is from Kwara state and she schooled in Kaduna state which is very far. There was no cellphone then so she had to write a letter to her parents to let them know she arrived at her destination successfully. It also took days for their reply to get back to her.Can you just imagine that?
But now, so long you have a phone with a sim card or cards in it, you can just make a call to just anybody, even the president of your country. Just that, he might not pick up.
Mobile phones has helped bridge the communication gap between a whole lot of people.
But if we are not careful, obsession will set in especially for social media apps like Tiktok, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter.
For instance, you tell yourself you just want to watch let's say five videos on Tiktok but after five videos, you promise yourself to watch another five and the cycle continues. The only time you stop is when you are alerted of data warning or when you have exhausted your data.
Now, don't get me wrong. These apps are very good actually. But it is just the excessive use of it that is bad. The more you surf the internet, the longer you want to stay there which may sooner or later affect other areas of your life. It can cause you to lag behind in some things.
But talking about it won't help although it is a way around it. Taking steps to see we do not just what is pleasurable but right is a good start.
*It is important to set your own goals and find a way to achieve them. ~Yuichiro*
**Have clearly defined goals:** This would help a lot. You are not just living life; you know exactly what you want and you are going for it and working towards it daily. That's the aim.
*Time takes it all, whether you want it or not. ~Stephen King, The Green Mile.*
**Reduce your screentime:** There is just so many chats to reply, so many new released movies to watch and so many interesting videos to watch. At the same time, there are lots of goals left unachieved.
You can set the amount of time you want to use on an app daily. This will help minimize the not-so-necessary things you do on your phone.
**Freezer:** Almost every phone I have come across has a freezer where you can just store or freeze apps for the time being. You don't keep food in the freezer because it is bad but because it is not presently needed. Apps that distract you when you are trying to attend to a very important thing can just be frozen with just one click.
The year is not over yet. We can still make the most of what we have left.
Thanks for reading 😍. Have a good night y'all...
No Motivation
***I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.*** **~** ***Estée Lauder***
Success, they say, comes to those who are too busy looking for it. Meaning it does not come to the lazy ones who sit around doing nothing or to those who know what to do but have no motivation to do it.
I am lazy and I hope for success. It is silly right? I am just unmotivated to do a lot of things. Even engaging here on read cash looks like a very difficult thing to do. It started yesterday and it is happening today again. I hope it does not remain like this for the rest of the week.
In a month, school will resume and academic activities will start back fully. I know I should be reading the PDFs sent to us right before we resume. I have not even done anything about the assignment given to us and we will be submitting as soon as school resumes.
I'm just mentally not ready. I don't know why. I guess I need help, real help. Zero motivation and zeal for success.
***Progress is impossible without change. ~Walt Disney***
The change I really want begins with me and it starts by taking little steps because without it, no progress can be achieved.
So no matter how much I fall even if I fall flat, bouncing back is all that matters. Not giving up, not forgetting how far I have come, not forgetting the little progresses I have made, not forgetting that self discipline is paramount in achieving success...
To everyone out there who is feeling really low and demotivated like me, I want you to know that you are doing great. Just don't stop reaching for your goal.
Read that book even if it is just a few pages. Make books your best friend.
Take that course. Upgrade your skills. It is not that you don't have the time or the money for it. It is because you are not ready.
Exercise even if it just for some minutes. Body fitness is really good. It will boost your self-confidence.
Keep grinding, keep showing love, never stop being full of life, don't lose your savour and lastly, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You will love it. ✨
I'm back to posting articles late at night instead of my regular time which is 9pm. I was about posting yesterday when I was alerted that I have exhausted my data and will have to renew or subscribe to a new data plan for be to be able. Without an active data connection, I won't be able to access the internet, read or post articles and a lot of other things.

A simple meal
You enjoy a food better when it prepared by you. When you do, you will value and appreciate every cook you meet be it your wife, your sister, daughter or a cook at a restaurant.
So, today I want to teach us all how to make a very simple but delicious meal. The name of this meal is Semovita. It is a commonly eaten Nigerian food. It is popularly called Semo which is short for Semovita.
I love this food a lot because it goes with just any soup: ewedu which is spinach, efo which is vegetables, egusi which is called melon, Ila which is Okra and Ogbona soup. Semovita is just very unique. I don't have a favorite soup that I like to eat with it but for the sake of this article, I will be going with vegetable soup.
To prepare Semo let's say for two people. Make sure your medium size pot is already washed. Then pour some water, light your gas and put your pot on fire. For water, make sure it is not too much and not little too.
**Allow the water to boil.** But before it does, make sure your powdered Semo is in a plate with your turning stick ready as well. I prefer to use the flat turning stick instead of the round one for Semo.
Since you are preparing a meal for two, you can just measure two cups of your powdered Semo so you won't have excess.
**Pour some out of the two cups into a** **separate bowl and mix with just a little water,** make sure the water is not hot. Mix well. Your mixture will look like a batter.
The moment the water boils well, pour your batter (Semo and water mixture) into the boiling water and keep mixing it until you no longer see the water separately.
The reason you are not pouring your Semo directly into the pot is because you are still a beginner and parboiling is just the best thing to do. If not, you will have a lot of lumps in it.
The next step is the most important. Once your parboiled Semo boils well, start mixing it. Carry your powdered Semo and pour slowly into the pot and make sure you are mixing and turning it well with your turning stick at the same time until it is smooth.
**Make sure it is smooth before you stop steering.** In case, it is too hard, you can just add a little (hot) water to it and if it is otherwise, add some powdered Semo to it.
Cover for two minutes or less so as to allow it to rise and suck up the water. Steer very well but make sure it does not get burnt. It has to be soft and be drawing at the same time.
**Super! Le repas est prêt. The meal is ready. Dish it out!**
This is getting long. I will make the part two of this soon on how to prepare vegetable soup by God's grace. I hope your Semo does not become cold before then😁

Going out can be stressful
Today was a busy day for me and going out was not part of my plan today but I ended up doing so.
**Why did I go out?**
A customer ordered some pieces of round neck from my sister. Selling clothes is part of her side hustle.. She was very busy with work so she asked me to help her get it since she didn't have the requested colour.
Which means I had to go to Post office. Post office is one of the most busy place in Kwara state. They basically sell clothes, shoes, belts, suits, sandals and slippers there.
You have to shine ya (your) eye, be smart and stay alert. If you are holding your phone, you have to hold it well and if it's in your bag, you have to make sure your bag is well zipped. If not, your phone will no longer be yours.
Apart from being smart, you have to walk fast because those selling something will want you to buy something from them by all means. They will pull your clothes, hold your hands just to get your attention.
Thank God I got to where I was going safe and sound without any cloth entering my eye.
On getting to the store, I wrote what I wanted on a sheet of paper and gave it to the guy I met there. I did not tell him so he would not make a mistake when bringing it out. He brought it and gave it to be. I counted it and it was complete.
My grandma's place is not far from there so I decided to pay her a visit. She asked me to eat but I told her I was fine. She just finished loosing her hair so I quickly help her plait it.
I met my uncles there too which meant extra money for me. My first Uncle offered me money but as a good Yoruba girl, I declined at first not because I wanted to but it just seemed like the right thing to do. He said I wasn't serious. So I quickly collected the money before he changed his mind.
I took my leave almost immediately. On getting home, I discovered that the sales attendant had given me the wrong thing. He gave me three medium size round neck instead of one and three extra large instead of two. I was pained. I should have just checked it one after the other there. It will take about twenty five minutes to get there if not more than that.
I had to go back there and return it. There was no other way. I have to spend another transport fare again plus the weather was very harsh. I was very angry.
On getting there, he said I had to pay extra money for returning it. After much talking, he later agreed and said he was only whining me. Nonsense! I could not get angry at him because I wanted him to change it.
I went back to my grandma's place and this time I stayed and ate. I was very tired and hungry. Thank God the customer wants the clothes tomorrow and not today.
Yes, I have gotten home now and all I want to do is watch a movie and sleep. This is just part of how my day went
What I want to bring out from this is that we should not always assume something is complete whenever we buy something. Instead, making sure it is complete and we have what we want exactly will save us from a lot of trouble and stress. Trust me, I'm writing from experience.
Thanks for reading 🥰🥰🥰
Is it okay to cry?
Have you cried this year? As silly as this question might sound since crying is not a thing of joy except it is a joyful tears still, let me ask, how were you able to express your feelings during your lowest moments? Did you break down and cry? Or you moved on very quickly and saw it as a part of life?
Whichever way, scaling through those times is actually the most important. Thank God you did.
Suffering heartbreaks either as a male or female is not a good experience. We call heartbreak 'breakfast' here in Nigeria which will be served round till it reaches everyone, lol. On a more serious note, having one's heart broken especially by someone you love can affect one's mental health.
But I still think that is better than losing a loved one. Even though none is good as they are all bad luck but at least you can still see the person. The person is not dead. Eventually, you might end up becoming friends with the person again.
With a dead person, it is different. You only get to meet until the Saviour comes. The only thing you have left of them is the memories you have of them either good or bad.
Going through my WhatsApp status a few days ago, I saw something. It was posted by a friend. According to him, he says we cherish the dead but we keep malice with the living. This is true right? We talk about how much we miss those that are gone/dead which isn't bad but what about those we have left. We have to make friends with the living too because they are those we have left.
For a child that loses a parent or both parents early in life, growing up might not be that easy for such a child. But that child has to remember all the sacrifices made by the parents before their death, how he/she can never let them down. Such child has to use his experience as his strength, pushing him to greater heights.
Back to the title is this article: Is it okay to cry? When words fail, tears break flowing effortlessly. I can't recommend crying though. It gives me headache. It makes me remember all the bad things I have experienced, all the hurtful words I might have heard, it just makes all those bad memories fresh in my mind.
Have heard people say they feel better after crying but most of the time it dampers my mood. All through that day, it makes me want to stay alone because I don't want a situation where you talk and I don't respond. It's rude.
Anyways, this was just a little something that has been in my head and on my mind. I hope I didn't bore you.
I missed posting an article here yesterday which is not a good way to end the week. I hope to make a perfect week this very week.
Happy Sunday guys🥰. Let's not give up on working on our dreams because a diligent man will sit before kings and not mean men.
Prompt Friday
Hi lovelies. Happy Fri-high-day! I hope the week went well for us. I know it did. Don't ask me how I just know it.
It's time for prompt Friday. I was able to get some on the Internet. It is simple. I have a list of questions and I will try to answer them all in the best way I can.

**Describe your favorite room in your home or apartment?**
My favorite room is no other place than my bedroom. My room is not that big and it is just for me. I have a low medium size bed on the right side. A wardrobe (with my clothes in it) opposite it. A shoe rack but it's not the one you put on the floor. It is hung on the wall. My heels are mostly there and I rarely wear them except on Sundays. I can't survive on heels; my legs will break. I'm mostly on flats(slippers, sandals or shoes) during the week. And then I have a cupboard not too far from my bed where I put my books, files, documents (ID card, birth certificate, SSCE results). On my cupboard, I put my small jewelry bag. In it are my earrings, chain and some beads.
Above this, I have my bags hung on a nail. I can easily choose whichever one I want after dressing.
There is a brown fan and a white bulb on the ceiling. I don't like my room dark except when I am watching a movie.
I have only two writings on the wall of my room. One is a quote that says winners don't need motivation, they need discipline. So whenever I just don't feel like doing anything, looking at it kind of takes me out of the idle and slacking zone.
The other writing is a verse from the Bible: Himself took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses. Yes, healing belongs to you and I because Jesus paid the price.
I love my little space. It gives me privacy. It is also my resting place. I know it very well like the back of my hand. I have tried looking for something without lights on and had gotten it. I love my room!
**Write about an item that isn't expensive but means a lot to you.**
Hmmn what can that be. I will say it's the last earrings I got from my sister. On that particular day, she went to the market to buy some earrings. I told her she should not come back home without getting mine lol. Well, she did. She about about six of them, took two and have me four. I didn't even give her any money. I was very happy. The earrings are not that expensive because she bought it at a wholesale's price. But I appreciate her buying it for me a lot.
**Write about something nice a stranger did for you.**
I love people that show kindness even to those they don't know. A kind thing something did for me that touched my heart happened early this year. It was during school period. I had just finished an evening lecture. There was no bus on getting to the park or let me say there was more people than the buses available. I was very tired so I could not fight to get one.
Then, a car stopped opposite where I was. He called me and three other students to come. He asked where we were going and we told him. It happened that we were all heading towards the same direction.
We alighted from his car safely without him asking for our numbers. He is such a nice doctor. He told us he lectures medical students.
This really made my day because I had already given up on going home on that day but help came through.
What about you? What is that nice thing someone did for you that melted your heart? Would you have done the same?

How do you behave?
Consumers are considered the king in every business and customer satisfaction is paramount to the producer or the marketer.
You understand your customers, their needs and what they like better as you study and observe them.
Today I'd like to share with us how some customers behave while purchasing a product, how they relate with the sales attendant and just how they behave in general.
Living in a country like Nigeria, everybody believes nothing is as it seems at first. Meaning the price of a product might not be the actual price and you have to bring it down by pricing it.
Especially when the trader sees you are an handsome young man or a fine-looking lady, they likely try to double the price of the product because they believe it takes money to be fine.
But this does not apply to every product you come across. We always believe we can price a product as long as it does not have any price tag on it. But there are some that do not have price tags attached to the product and still have a fixed price.
I know what customers can be like because I am one myself and from what I have seen from my mom's business too.
**Which are you?**
**Always pricing customers**
These type of customers always price whatever they see but never buy. They are always admiring but never want to make a purchase. You will hear statements like "If I had money, I would have bought this or that". They just never have money or maybe when do, they forget to revisit.
**Choosy/over selective customers**
There is nothing wrong with taking time to check out whatever one wants to buy but there are people that are just too extreme in doing this. They stress the trader out. In the end, they don't get satisfied with whatever they and might only buy a few or not even buy anything at all. "It's not my choice" or "I am very selective" they will say.
**Degrading customers**
It is nought, it is nought says the buyer but when he goes he boast. I love this verse. It is from the book of Proverbs. I call this particular type of customers degrading because they don't value the product in the presence of the seller but as soon as they are out of the sight of the seller, they start to brag. If they bought it at a cheaper rate, they will lie and say bought it at a higher rate.
**Always owing customers**
There are people that buy things they don't even need at the moment or even in the nearest future which is most likely going to affect their budget plan and might end up putting them in debt. Once a product enters their eye, they always want to buy it whether they can afford it or not. So as they are paying off one debt, they are entering another.
**The very good customers**
Yes they are very good. These are the seller's best friend. They hardly give them problem. They don't stress the seller unnecessarily, they buy at a price that pays both them and the seller and lastly they pay on time. Most times, sellers reserve the best of their products for people like this. I love these kind of people.
There are still more to how customers behave while purchasing goods and services.
**Conclusion**
As a seller or a business person, you will meet with different kinds of people. You have to know that as we are different as are our behaviours. We can't all behave/act in the same way.
Treating every customer with respect and a smiling face is very important. Even when some people try to piss you off, you have to try to maintain your cool.
Them not buying from you today does not mean they will not come back to yours tomorrow. But how you treat them will determine if they will.
As a customer, be nice! Yeah, it's your money but still, be courteous in your way of speaking.
Thank you very much for reading this 😍. Don't forget to like, subscribe and leave a comment.

Random Thoughts
This is going to be very random. This is me writing whatever that comes to my mind. I hope you find this interesting. This thought came to my mind and I decided to write about it.
Popularity is a very good thing especially if you are known for something positive. People see something in you that's why they develop an interest or decide to follow you.
The same goes for certain products. Popular products are known for different things–quality, quantity, price, durability and other things.
Some popular consumable products in my country are Indomie noodles, Golden penny noodles, Coke, Maclean's tooth paste and Lollipop sweet. These are just a few that I can remember.
Because they so popular whenever people wants to buy a similar product they use the products name instead of the original name.
For instance, we know Indomie is the product's brand name for noodles. Some people when they want to buy another product still call it Indomie. Why? It's because they have gained a lot of ground making them well.
I do this too. There was a day I needed toothpaste and needed to get one. On getting to the provision store, I told the woman selling something I wanted to buy Maclean's and she in return asked me the type of Maclean I wanted to buy. I told her Close-up would be fine.
Now, Maclean's is just the name of a toothpaste and not the general name for all toothpaste but because it is very popular people use it unknowingly.
So is Lollipop and Golden penny. I find this really funny. Do you do this too? Or have you done this before?
There was a time I thought all noodles are called Indomie. I laughed when I finally realized I was wrong the whole time.
...
I had to write this quickly this afternoon because I will be going to the church this evening for the midweek and communion service. By the time I get back, I might not have the time to write until late at night.
But I have to wait till 9Pm before I publish it because my last article is not even up to twenty four hours. I posted yesterday's article around 9Pm.
I have gotten back from church. I decided to add this.
I joined Noise app recently but I still have a read-only account and I can only comment on and post articles until I get an invite from a friend.
I have just set up my profile. I looked up some people I know on read cash and saw that they are also on the Noise app. I quickly followed them. The Noise app is very interesting from what I have seen. I also discovered that you don't have to post lengthy articles there. Also, you can post more than once there. I look forward to more exciting things there.
You can follow me there too. I will appreciate it. What's your username? I would love to follow you.

What works for you?
Know thyself. ~Anonymous
There is strength in knowing oneself. It will be very easy to find balance and achieve balance when you know the kind of person you are.
I am in the best position to know what I like or things I dislike, my interests, my passion, my hobby, my strength and my weaknesses. So are you.
My parents might know my character but not as I do. My friends might have seen some sides of all me but they have not seen all. They only know me to an extent.
Finding what works for you will not only save you time but also save you from stress.
**Are you a day lark or a night owl?**
As a student, having good grades does not come easy, you have to sacrifice your time and even your sleep to study with the aim of having an outstanding result.
So, when do you prefer to study? In the morning or at night?
A day lark is a morning bird. People that are more active and vibrant during the day are referred to as morning birds. Those that prefer staying up late at night to study, work or do other things are referred to as night owls. These are nightwalkers. They work while others sleep which isn't bad.
**Night classes**
Some students agree to meet at a place let's say school to read through the night or attend night tutorials. And sometimes it might just be a personal decision.
It will be difficult for a daylark to read at night or all through the night because that is how they are wired. But it will be easier for a night owl to stay up late to study without feeling sleepy or dozing off.
Taking nescafe, chewing gum or dipping legs inside water might not help a day person to stay active at night. So, it is preferable that such a person make hay while the sun shines.
Let me share what my brother once told me with you. It happened to his friends and not him. It happened that they were preparing for their second semester examination in their second year in the University.
As we all know, crossing to the next or a higher level requires hardwork. So, these friends decided to go for night class the night before their examination. They had read and read. So they decided to sleep for a while.
Only for them to wake up late in the morning. It was an 8:00 exam and they woke up around 10 which is past the exam time. This means automatic carryover for them.
One thing I like about studying at night is the quietness; being able to read and not be disturbed. Assimilating becomes easy here.
But we must know that the body cannot be cheated on. You have to give to the body what it wants which is rest. After staying up late, the next day, you should try to rest. It will really help. Because if you don't, it will affect you. You will just discover that you are sleeping when class is going on. In the end, you won't gain anything from attending that class.
**Conclusion**
Balance is needed to be able to achieve our daily goals. Take advantage of the daylight as much as you can if you are a daylark.
It takes focus to be able to read and awesome. Therefore, as a night owl, if you know reading during the day does not really work for you try using the nighttime.

Can you do anything for money?
You feel a different kind of joy when you know you have money. It might be that someone dashed you or you have been waiting long to receive that money, the moment this money drops, you become very excited. You will want to take yourself out for shopping and buy all the things you need or those things you have been eyeing for long.
This excitement will make you want to give to people from it. All those people you have in mind to help—your family, friends, younger ones and the needy around you, this makes it the perfect to help them.
I am sure we would have at one time or the other experienced this bubbling joy. It is not because you have not touched money before but this just feels different.
**So, can you do anything for money? 🤔**
By anything, I don't mean illegal things like fraud or prostitution, in case your mind went far 😁
Just like the saying goes we use money to find money. So to have money, you have to spend money.
We want money cheaply sometimes. I was watching a video yesterday where a guy approached a lady on the first floor of a building. He challenged her to do something very risky. The lady was to throw her phone up and make sure she catches it with only one hand without it falling to the ground. If she was able to do this successfully, she would be given N80,000 which is about $180. It is not easy right?
On her hesitation, the guy increased the money from N80000 to N10000. The money is quite much and with it she can purchase a brand new phone with that amount and still go home with change.
There is a but there though. If the lady is unable to catch her phone, that is, if the phone falls to the ground she goes home with nothing–no phone, no money.
Anyways, the lady agreed to do it. I think you already know what happened. She was unable to catch her phone, it fell down and her screen got broken. Sad right?
But the guy was generous enough to give her some amount of money to repair it. If not, I'm sure she should have cried her eyes out.
We all need money. And the money offered to the lady by the guy was quite tempting. If I was in her should I would have most likely done the same.
But to look at it from another angle, I think she should have asked herself if she was good in catching things. Have you been throwing or catching things (like ball) before?
From the video, it looked like the whole screen of the phone was damaged. At the end, the money the lady was compensated with might not be enough to repair her phone.
But, if she had been successful in catching the ball, it would have been an happy day for her;a big jackpot. Imagine having $182 in a day for just performing a short task.
It is just like betting. It is a two-way thing meaning you either lose or win. You put money there because you want to get more money but you can lose.
So, while trying to hustle and survive, we should look well to what we put our money into so we won't have to suffer loss in the end.

We can be perfect
Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. ~Matthew 5:48
We serve a living God. He is perfect in all His ways. There is neither mistake nor imperfection associated with him. Not only is He God but he is also our Father, our Friend, our Comforter, our Advocate, our Savior, our Helper and our all in all.
We might have heard people say that we are not perfect and nobody is. But let me tell you this, we can be perfect because our heavenly Father is perfect.
We can be righteous. We can live a life of righteousness. It is not impossible to live a life of purity. Remember you are the righteousness of God in Christ. You have the life and the Spirit of God dwelling and brooding inside of you.
This does not mean we will not face temptations. Even the Bible says that we should count it all joy when we face temptations. But we will overcome because we are no longer slave to sins, we are dead to sin. We are now children of God.
We as believers have to know what we carry, what has been given to us by God. That's why we cannot but live without the Word of God. It takes more than bread to live, it takes a daily streaming of God's word (Msg Bible paraphrased). You can't resist the devil if you do not know that the Word says you can.
We have to reflect on our lives. What is the Word saying about what we are about to do or doing presently? Does it please God? Just take a minute and tell God you want to know Him more. That you can't scale through the challenges of life without Him. Jesus's blood was shed for you and me. So we can be saved. He redeemed/delivered us from the power of darkness. He has brought us into the kingdom of light. And now we have access to the Father. He speaks and we hear, we can and He answers.
✨ Everything else that happens outside Your presence is just noise, pure noise... I love this song by Dunsin Oyekan. The title of the song is No words. You might want to listen it.

Happy Sunday fam❣️ Hope you went to church? Stay blessed.
Who else thinks the month of November is going too fast? Today is already the sixth day, when did we wish ourselves a happy new month?😁
Today was a great and busy day for me. I loved and enjoyed it. I went to church and came back around 10 o'clock. And as people say, rice and stew is for Sundays. I cooked rice and ate. I was feeling sleepy so I decided to take a short nap. The short nap turned out to be a very long and deep sleep.
I helped my neighbours plait their hair. They are in secondary school so they have to make their hair weekly and follow the hairstyle called. One made Concord while the other made Suku and base. We finished late in the evening.
***Food! Food! Food!***
In our house, we make sure we cook something unique and delicious every Sunday like pounded yam. We made this and I really enjoyed it. I would have invited you over but it's finished 😅 so till next time.

What do you do on Saturdays?
*Saturday is all about good vibes. ~Unknown*
After working round the clock during the week, we all wait for this very day—Saturday. It is a day we look forward to even though it comes every week. We like it because we know we can relax and take it easy on ourselves no matter how little it is. A lot of us enjoy this day a lot especially those working in a governmental organization.
But for some people, the weekend is just like every other day. They have to work not because they don't like to rest. It is because if they don't work, they cannot eat, pay bills, go to school, provide for their family or just survive.
***Family Time👁️***
A lot of people use their Saturdays to spend time with their family. It is a time of bonding. Children that have been to school from Monday to Friday will be at home on this day. Also, parents that have been working all week long will most likely stay at home and spend time with children and spouses during weekends.
***Finish the Week's Goal☀️***
It is a day to wrap up whatever you have been doing. Yes,you can relax on this day but it does not mean you should relent in the pursuit of your goals. You have been reading and writing articles since Sunday, then Saturday should not be different. Or you have been going to the gym, working towards body fitness but on Saturday you go against your self discipline and satisfy all your food cravings. Please don't do that.
***Relax! Relax! Relax!***
This is the part most of us like the most. Who doesn't like enjoyment? What we want is to wake up, eat, watch movies, chat, sleep and not get out of bed. Some might not even wake up until 12:00 in the afternoon and lazy around till the day ends.
***Do some washing***
All those clothes you have been piling up since on Monday, you have to face it on Saturday. Some people use this day to wash and iron their clothes, tidy their room, do other house chores and just clean and take care of the house.
***Attend Parties***
People attend parties like wedding ceremonies on Saturdays. Weddings are for Saturdays. Every week particularly on Saturday, people get married. It's only during general elections that I know people don't fix weddings on Saturday. It is a day to tie gele and wear native attires. It is a day to eat party jollof😁.
I know it is more than this. You can do whatever you like or choose to do on Saturday just make sure it is something productive and fruitful.
Happy Saturday ❤️

I wish
I wish I had all I ever need, never having to wait.
I wish I was free, having to work for my own money and going out and coming in daily.
I wish my life was more put together, like my friend's own.
I wish my life was fun, not being stuck with books. Being the life of the party would not be so bad.
I wish I had more than enough money, not having to taste poverty or lack.
I wish people understand me and my feelings better.
I wish I can speak freely to people without being shy or getting intimated by them.
I wish I had a longer hair, not having to plait it but just style it and show off.
I wish the colour of my skin was brighter and fairer.
I wish I had a dark skin. After all, black is beautiful"they say.
I wish it wasn't me who did all those mistakes in the past.
I wish I was the first born, the perfect position to boss my siblings around.
I wish I was the last born, billing my elder ones and receiving free gifts would have made sense.
I wish I was earning daily, never having to wait till the end of the month before having to spend.
I wish I had a magnificent voice and could sing Alto, Tenor and Soprano altogether.
I wish I was slim and fit, not having to worry about dieting and exercising.
I wish I was more chubby so people don't have to ask if I eat at all.
I wish I didn't have to sleep alone at night. Having a room mate would have been better.
I wish I had the room to myself, nothing beats privacy.
I wish I didn't have to go to school. It is too stressful.
I wish going on a break was not a thing. Staying at home is boring.
I wish I was in a relationship, having someone to call me at intervals and randomly send me gifts.
I wish I didn't have to be accountable to a person (my partner) every single time.
I wish my daughter will reduce talking too much. I need to rest.
I wish my daughter will open up to me and reduce her screentime.
I wish I had more clothes, variety, they say is the best.
I wish my clothes were not this much. My back aches from washing so much and having to arrange it in the wardrobe.
...
The list goes on, on and on. The truth is everyone we admire don't have it all figured out. You think your situation is the worst? You are wrong. Do you know that people are still looking up to you?
Don't stress yourself out by worrying about things you cannot change. Well, we are not meant to work through life alone. God is there for you and for me. He is always willing to help us so far we ask and trust him to do it.
And this is also to tell us never to compare ourselves with anybody.
Remember, you are unique. You are beautiful. You are loved.

Will you help a random person?
Reading @Princessbusayo today's article 'Doing the good things even when it doesn't matter' really motivated me to write mine. She talked about helping people even when you know that they are in no position to help you back.
First, I feel asking these questions will help us understand well what I will be talking about.
So, do you help others? Or do you feel you need to be helped instead? Or do you think there is nothing you can give that is worthy of being received? Or do you feel you have less by helping others?
We have to know that whatever high position we find ourselves or whatever thing we own in abundance, it's a privilege. You may have worked for it or you are just blessed to be born with a silver spoon in your mouth, it's still a privilege. You don't know what God has done for you.
Therefore we should never underestimate the power of giving, helping and reaching out to others when we can.
**Should** **~~we~~** **I Help a Random Person?**
In case you are wondering why I ruled out 'we' used 'I' instead, it is because rendering help is first a personal decision before it becomes a collective action. It is about the love you have in your heart to see that people around you and those far in distance from you whether you are friends with them or not, whether you know them or you don't, are thriving and happy. And this love you have drives you to the extent that when those around you are not okay, you are moved to do something no matter how little, for them. It is about having compassion. That's what people respect anyways.
A simple smile, a nice compliment, gifts, checking up on others and putting smiles on the faces you come across goes a long way.
I can remember a day that I went to get snacks. It was during school period. I was tired and hungry as I hadn't eaten anything from home so I decided to buy an egg roll, a doughnut and a sachet water. One egg roll costs N150 while one doughnut costs N70. I gave the sales attendant N500 but she said there was no change. Then a man came and told me not to bother that he will pay for it. I was very happy. I thanked him and left. You need to see how happy this made me. It really boosted my mood.
I am just a random person to this man yet he decided to help me without expecting anything in return.
I came across a guy recently not physically though. It was on Instagram. He goes to places affected by the food and ask them how he can render assistance to them. He gave some people freezer, some new apartments while some money to start a business. Those that needed medical help, he gave them thousands of naira to help them but drugs. He even assisted the homeless, took them out to eat, took them to a salon, a beach and even gave them money.
He posted all of this on his Instagram page. Watching this moved me to tears. His generosity still amazes me.
Be among the kind people today. Be that kind person. Don't do it because you are expecting something in return.

Should I seek help?
**We made it to the eleventh month, yay! Happy new month to y'all. I hope you enjoyed the month of October to the fullest. May this month be good and also favour each and everyone one of us.**
Let's move to what I have for us today—seeking for help.
**Seeking for help does not make you less of a person. You don't know it all. Nobody does except God. It does not make you a beggar. You are not begging anyways. Seek so that you can find.**
*When you are not sure about what someone said you can ask them to come again. It is part of asking for help.*
**You are feeling really overwhelmed over something you have to do like your house chores, you can ask your siblings to help you. It does not make you incapable.**
*There is no crime in asking for help whenever you need one. Just make sure you ask from the right person/persons. It goes a long way off.*
**Last two weeks, I can't remember the particular day, I bought a new sim because they have nice data offers. I did all I was asked to do. I made a call within the space of 24 hours as required. Everything was working well just that it was showing no network. I just thought it is for a while so, I subscribed to a data bundle. It was successful. But I could only use it for WhatsApp and I did a general bundle. It went on for a week. I was limited to just viewing people's status and replying messages for a week.**
*I did ask for help. I told my brother about it. He put my SIM on his phone and the data was able to browse on different sites. What could be wrong? He also didn't know what to do about it. My brother said I should just give him my SIM for now before the data expires. I told him I subscribed to a monthly bundle and that I just did it recently.*
**There were days I needed data badly to browse but this data refused to allow me use it. It was frustrating. And when you ask some people to on their hotspot, in few minutes they will switch it off without telling you. You will just realize that yourself. Well, I can't blame them everyone is trying to manage.**
Anyways, I had to go to the network's *office because it could not just continue like this. And in less than five minutes that they collected my phone, my data started working perfectly. I was very happy. Thank God I did not keep quiet.*
There are times we ask for help and we don't get the solutions or the answers we need, still, we should not give up. It might be that the next person you turn to has the answer to what you are looking for.

Bonne nuit❤️
Don't forget the little things
*It is often said that it's the little things that count/matter. We tend to overlook the little things because we are yet to accomplish those great things we planned. We think we are just there while others out there are doing wonders, crushing their goals.*
**But do you know that you being alive means all hope is not lost. You can still achieve those dreams and aspirations of yours. As long as there is life, then, there is hope.**
*This morning, at my mom's shop, we got a shocking news. We were told that the woman beside us lost one of her daughters to the cold hands of death. The girl died on Saturday evening. She is a 11 year old girl about to enter secondary school.According to the mother, she was very active on that day. She swept the whole compound before coming to shop. She was talking and doing everything well. She was not even sick at all. It was this girl's elder sister that was sick.*
**She had to stay at her dad's store because he had to go out. Their dad sells provisions-biscuits, chips, bread, soft drinks and other daily needs. Her mom met her lying on the floor. She thought she was sleeping and was about to blame her since she was the only one there and they could steal something since she didn't lock the door. Only for her to realise that she was already lifeless. Her mom called for help and they rushed the girl to the hospital.**
*She was confirmed dead on getting to the hospital. And according to their religion, they had to bury her on that day. It's just so sad. I saw this girl on Friday. She is the finest among her sisters. She is dark and has big eyeballs. She is just too young to die. So this is how people die. I still find it hard to believe she is no more. May God keep the rest of us.*
**So, in whatever situation you find yourself, please be grateful. At least, you are alive. A lot is happening in this world**
*Hope this didn't make you sad? This was not my intention.*
I'm excited about this new month. Two ember months left before 2023 takes over. Look on the bright side of life. Say no to negativity.
Stay safe ❤️
I decided to follow through with my decision of writing and reading articles in the afternoon and it helped. I was once a night owl but now I just sleep very early.
I also hope the random rewarder visit often because I have not really been seeing his face these days.

Happy Sunday
I wish everyone a happy Sunday. October 2022 will be ending soon, never to come again. Very soon we will start exchanging happy new year pleasantries. But before that we will have to celebrate Christmas first and have carols too so as to mark the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We started rehearsals today for our Jesus party. Those that could sing joined choir while those that can act joined drama and those that are good in poetry or spoken word also filed themselves together. I joined choir. I can do a little bit of singing with the tenor voice.
Christmas reminds me of my childhood. I remember how excited I was whenever the month of December drew nigh. My mom would take us (my brother, my sister and I) to the market to buy clothes. We will select and make sure we test the clothes before leaving the person's store. That way it will save her from having to return any cloth.
Two months to go and 2022 will be over. I can recall that at the beginning of this year, things seem kind of slow but now there is a rush to finish within the months.
I always feel Sunday is meant to be a free day. But now, it is just like every other day. I love to take time to rest in the afternoons of Sunday since I don't really get to sleep during noon. There is just so much to do even on Sundays. I have to wash my clothes, make my hair and that of my cousin, cook and do other things.
This new week one of the things I intend to do is working during the day and not at night. I easily dose of at night. Like last night, the last I remember is that I was reading an article on my bed with my phone in my hand and with my data on. I woke up to a low battery. I don't like this happening. I decided it's better for me to write and read articles during the day when my brains, my body and my eyes are very active.
Two of my course mates celebrated their birthdays today. I wish them all the best in life.
My school is yet to resume. Though, A resumption date has been fixed–December 15. Meaning we have to wait for another month again before we return back to school. Presently, only finalists and postgraduate students have resumed. I just hope I can make the most of this period and start reading because I know that they are surely going to rush us by the time we resume. Results for the last session too are not yet out. Some departments are even lucky as they have released some of their first semester courses. I hope they do ours too soon.
I guess this is where I say goodbye tonight. 'cause I am already feeling sleepy. Have a lovely week ahead y'all 😍
