Writer's Dilemma: Limit Your Expectations
In this world filled with standards, everyone should limit their expectations because even the world is not perfect and has some limitations. It is free to dream all you want, but make sure to do action and assess yourself, your capabilities, among others, if you really can do and achieve all those things because if not, it is really very sad at the end of the day.
There are various factors that can affect these things, and one way to make sure that you will be able to achieve what you set is by doing necessary action, pairing it with determination and faith, and working hard for it. If you expect something all by luck, there is a lower chance of attaining it. What is worse is that it could make you really feel sad when nothing happens, even when you wait for quite a long time.
This is one thing I see why there are some writers here who have just arrived on board for quite a short period of time, yet they are leaving too soon. They thought they could easily do the things that others have been doing and achieving so far. That is why they end up being frustrated and demotivated when it does not turn out the way they want it.
Remember that things may not always go in our favor. It can go the other way around. So do not expect things that are way too far. Nevertheless, what you can do is start with small things and gradually increase them as time goes on. It requires effort, time, and perseverance to remain in this field and attain success. So if you do not have these qualities, it does not automatically mean you can no longer fit in. You can still do it by giving your best.
Develop a habit out of it. Once you have developed a habit of it and start enjoying doing it, you will soon reap the fruit of your labors. Your worries will then change into something better. While you can't completely eradicate all your worries, you can at least mitigate them.
Do not give up. So when things seem to go in the opposite direction, do not give up. Remember that you are a fighter. No one's born just to give up easily. We all have a passion. Maybe, you haven't found it yet. But just because you are hard up into something doesn't mean it ends there. While you are still breathing, it is not yet the end. Find happiness in everything you do, and once you find the right formula, save it and start employing it.
It's the reality. Like in reality, also where things undergo this so-called process of change, and people do as well. Those people whom you think will remain the same even after a long period of time may not a hundred percent remain the same way as they are. So don't expect too much from others. Save something for yourself as well. Don't just give and give and expect something because it would cause you too much pain when you do not meet your expectations.
In summary, when you start something like this, make sure to limit your expectations. Something big could actually happen, but not all the time. If you came here just because you think it is easy to catch a big fish without exerting too much effort, then you are wrong. In the end, it is those who really have the passion for it and doesn't give up easily no matter what kind of challenge will come who are the ones who will remain steadfast and active.
