When good times are upon us it is easy to be happy and joyful. But when times aren't going the way we anticipated, we become either despondent or angry. But nobody in their right mind ever claimed life was fair, and anybody with half a brain knows this.
Some people give a joyful shout when they are drinking alcohol. Others shout in joy when their favorite sorts team wins a game. Seems like we have all done that at one time or another, and there's really nothing wrong with it.
But rarely will anyone shout for joy for what the Lord has done for them or is doing. He is always active in the lives of believers and the Holy Spirit provides us with that voice of joy to shout to the Father. So why don't we do it? Usually, we can't be bothered with it.
Busy lives
I don't know about you, but I live an extremely busy life. Aside fro working as a paid writer, I am here on read.cash almost daily writing and commenting. Additionally, and more importantly, I have a young son to take care of. Each day he must go to the beach. It's his ritual.
Technology has certainly provided our lives with dualities. On the one hand, we can access the Internet and find almost anything we care to learn about. Of course, gaming is big and people waste a lot of their time on it. Then there are social media platforms that consume our time. In the end, technology can either be a good or a bad thing.
We own microwave ovens, automatic washing machines, hot water heaters, stoves, refrigerators to keep our food from spoiling, and smartphones that help is communicate instantly. We are a blessed generation and yet we do not praise God or give Him the shouts of joy He rightly deserves.
Lack of faith
Many people who profess to be be Christians lack faith. Oh, they may mumble a few words to God from time to time, and more when troubles arise, but rarely will they shout any praise to Him who created the heavens and the earth.
A lack of faith should be your warning sign. If you are not praising God and giving Him thanks, you may not be saved or you may be a backslider. If you are a backslider, the fix is simple: you repent and turn back to obedience to His commands and fellowship with like-minded individuals.
On the other hand, if you place your faith elsewhere, such as in yourself or others, you are missing the proverbial boat of life - literally. You see, our bodies will eventually wear out and die and return to the dust of the earth.
But our souls will live on for eternity, either in glory or in hell. We have a choice. God, in His benevolence, will not force you or I to call upon Him nor will He compel us to worship Him.
Whatever our circumstances
So in good times, let's praise the Lord.
And in problematic times, let's praise the Lord.
At all times let's raise a joyful shout to the LORD!
When we shout praises to the LORD, we lift ourselves above the trials and problems that face us and our lives are much better for it.
Won't you lift up your voice to Him who alone saves and give Him a shout of praise today and every day?
It's true that calling God eases our pain, makes us feel better. I found that believing in something is better than nothing. It helps a lot to roll on smoothly. Good to read your post.
