"Poverty is the worst form of violence."

In the past, wars have been waged between nations, or between people and leaders. But now, we have an enemy that is more invisible than those others: poverty.

We can't ignore it—it's a fact of life for so many people in our world. And it's not just about money, it's about fundamental human rights: food and shelter, health care, freedom from fear, and violence.

It causes more suffering, more death, and more destruction than any other single human problem. That's why we have to talk about it—and do something about it. But what can you do? How can you help?

In March of 2018, the world's leaders gathered in the United Nations for a meeting on sustainable development. It was a chance to talk about the future of our planet and how we can ensure that it remains habitable for future generations. But instead of focusing on ways to protect the Earth from environmental destruction, we heard about another threat: poverty.

Poverty is not only a problem for people who live in developing countries or low-income households; it is also an issue for those living in developed countries who are struggling to make ends meet or who have lost their jobs due to the economic downturns of recent years. What's more, poor people are not just susceptible to natural disasters—they're also at greater risk of being attacked by violent extremists when they're unable to protect themselves against extreme weather conditions or other types of disasters commonly experienced by many without access to basic resources like food, water, shelter, and medical care."

Facts about Global Poverty

  • Every year, 3.1 million children die (8,500 children per day) due to poor nutrition.

  • According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty.

  • An estimated forty thousand people die every day because of poverty.

  • More than 736 million people worldwide live below the poverty line

  • Poverty rose globally in 2020 and 2021 by 150 million people

  • Child poverty accounts for half of the world’s poor with 1 out of 5 children experiencing extreme poverty.

  • One out of every 27 children will die before reaching the age of 5, mostly from malnutrition and other preventable causes due to extreme poverty.

  • More than half of all child deaths occur in just five developing nations: Nigeria, India, Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Ethiopia.

  • More than 785 million people globally do not have access to basic water services, including a well.

  • Every day, approximately 810 women die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth.

It's not what you think

It's not just about starving or having no shelter or being unable to find clean water. It is a state of mind where you feel like you're going to die, and nothing can be done about it. It's not about a lack of resources—it's about your inability to access them.

Poverty isn't just about lack: when you're poor, every aspect of your life is constrained by scarcity. You don't have money for food, so you eat less often and less healthfully. You don't have money for clothes or shelter, so you wear old clothes and sleep on the streets overnight because that's all there is in your budget right now. You don't have money for medicine, so you can't afford treatment when something goes wrong—and it always goes wrong eventually, because we live in a world where anything can happen at any time to anyone without warning or explanation.

Poverty is the worst form of violence because it means that people are dying every day from preventable diseases—dying without hope

Poverty can turn a person into a dangerous weapon

It can turn a person into a dangerous weapon, a force to be reckoned with. A person who has been reduced to nothing but his mind and energy can become a dangerous weapon.

It is not just what you have in your hand that determines whether you are powerful or weak, but also what you have in your head. Poverty takes away your ability to think, it takes away your ability to see yourself as powerful and capable, it takes away your ability to dream big and make decisions based on what you want instead of what other people want for you. Poverty takes away all your options and leaves only one thing: survival.

Poverty destroys families, it destroys communities and it destroys nations. And when poverty becomes too much for someone, they may decide to take matters into their own hands. They may choose violence as the only way out of their situation—violence against themselves or others—and this is where our world gets so complicated!

Harsh Truth

We're used to thinking of violence as something that comes from outside ourselves. We're told it's the work of someone else, and we focus on our own reactions, what we should have done or not done.

But poverty is a form of violence that comes from inside us. It's the most awful kind because it doesn't have a face—it's so pervasive, so inescapable, that it often seems like there's nothing you can do about it.

And yet… there is something you can do! The answer lies in changing your perspective: instead of seeing poverty as something outside yourself, see it as an opportunity for growth and personal development. Don't just complain about how unfair things are and how hard life is going; use your hardships as opportunities for personal growth and fulfillment.

The world doesn't owe you anything—and even if it did, no one could ever pay the price for your happiness! You've got to make yourself happy first; then you'll be able to give back to others through your actions and words.

What if we could end poverty once and for all?

What if we could wipe out poverty in our lifetime? And what would that look like? We think it would look like this:

A world where everyone has access to food, shelter, education, healthcare, and more—all for free. A world where every child can grow up healthy—no matter what their race or religion is. A world where everyone has a job that pays enough money to cover their basic needs like rent and utilities so they don't have to worry about those things anymore—and then some. A world where everyone has access to technology so they can do their jobs better than ever before possible—and then some more!

And even better than that: a world where all human beings live in peace with each other and nature itself.

In Conclusion

For many, poverty is seen as an unfortunate but necessary part of life: it's something that happens to people who don't have enough money, and you just have to accept it. To others, however, poverty has become an issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

Poverty is not just about having less money than others—it's about having no money at all. It's about being hungry or unable to afford shelter or medicine. Poverty is about being unable to access basic human rights such as education or healthcare; it's about being denied the ability to work and support your family while also suffering from mental illness or addiction; it's about living with chronic pain or malnutrition because you can't afford treatment.

The world is in a race against time to find solutions to poverty, and we're losing. The situation is getting worse every day, and the United Nations has called for action on this issue. We need something drastic—and that's what we have here: something drastic!

Poverty somehow the cause of violence. So humanity really means to everyone to share and help for those who are in need.

Everyone can never become rich because no one would even have time for each other but the rich are created so they can help the poor ones. That's what humanity means.

Being poor is really a bad disease because it will eat you up not to think straight or do what you ought to do.

Everybody was not suppose to be rich, but being poor is not an option either.

In order to defeat poverty, the rich must "share". and they will NEVER do that! As you know, "The richer a man is, the greedier he gets. From year to year we hear only promises. In this life we need to hope in God, but we should not sit with our hands folded.
