And Coffee blooms.

"The house was quit as I was just sitting in the living room. All I can hear are the sounds of electric fan, vehicles as our house was along the road and of course the sounds of my keyboard while I was tapping. The sky was covered with clouds and I could not see nor feel the sun. I was getting bored and I decided to have a cup of coffee. Well coffee is LIFE!"
A week ago I published an article about " harvesting coffee, the back end process. Then just last night, my sister @AKISH told us in our GC that coffee is blooming! Hahaha you might be wondering, what I am trying to say is "it's the flower season of coffee's".
Before a tree could bear a FRUIT there is always a flower right? So yesterday , she woke up wondering why there were a lot of bees outside. She was a bit disoriented at first until she realized that all the coffee's was in bloom! Here is her post at noise cash.

You might think it is one of famous flowers, a flowering plant to be exact but NO. Hehehe, it's actually a COFFEE Flower. Yes, you read it right! That's how beautiful it's flower was, not to mention it was indeed fragrant!
Oh, maybe you are bit curios how it's flower look like. It grows in the twig, in line. Hahaha I find it hard to describe . Here's the picture for you to see.
I remembered how fascinated I was with it's flower when I was a kid. As I have mentioned our house was surrounded by coffee trees so imagine when you wake up in the morning with the sound of chirping birds, dancing leaves, even crackling chicken sometimes while inhaling the scent of this flower. It was so peaceful and I would often walk back and forth in our backyard visiting those flowers while holding a cup of milk. Sometimes I ended up being pinched by my Mom because I was so restless.
Not only that, didn't I mention in my previous article that my grandma was so strict and we should not damage any twig? There was one time that our teacher required us to bring some flowers at school. There was a school program that I could not remember. Since my Mom is not fond of planting flowers, no one in the family actually. My grandma will be mad if she sees us planting one. What she wanted us to plant is something that we could eat. Just root crops. So, the only flower that I saw was this Coffee flower. I thought that granny would not be mad, I would just take some. I am going to be careful not to damage any twig hehe. I was so happy while picking the flowers. I almost took all the flowers in ONE COFFEE TREE.
The plastic bag I am holding was almost full. I was grinning thinking that my teacher will be happy with the flower that I am going to bring because it was fragrant. Then there is granny coming. I even called her and lifted up the plastic bag I am holding. Telling her I already took some flowers. Well it would eventually fall down. Why not take it now? Granny's eyes grew wide and I saw how her face turned mad! Then she gets a dry small twig and PAKKK. She hit me on my but with that twig and demn it really hurts! I bet granny is a member of the sorority, she is always hitting us every time we make mistake. Kidding aside. The innocent mind of me was wondering why granny was mad. Can you tell me why?
So back to the bees, maybe it was because of its fragrant scent that bees were attracted to it. Though I did some research that I had found out that it was actually the caffeine. Not only beans have caffeine but it's flowers are also caffeinated, the nectar to be exact! Just like us humans, caffeine can make honey bees alert and even improve their memories. Amazing.
Just take a look how this BEE was eating with all her heart content! She is almost diving (I assumed this Bee is a female, looks like to me). But wait, it's not only her, she came along with her friends.
Can you see them? I told my sister to take some photos and they are not even bothered. They kept on sipping until one of the bees I guess was mad. My sister got stung. Thankfully she didn't blame me. Lesson learned? Not only us humans get mad when being disturbed while eating.
