Covid-19: A Blessing in Disguise

What are the things that you're thinking once you heard "Corona virus or also known as Covid-19"? You might be thinking deadlier, virus, curse, communicable disease. Most of it are negative, right? Do you think that corona virus has a positive effects on us especially in our community? For me, it has! 

Note: The content of this article is based on author's opinion and what he observed. 

What are the possible good effects or advantages of coronavirus?

I will put the reducing of crime rates on the first list. If you are always watching news, you probably watched or knew that the crime rate in some countries decreased. As what the research says;

"Lockdown policies in Australia  and many other countries around the world have significantly altered the environment in which criminal activity can take place.

The broad view in the early days of the pandemic was some crimes would naturally decrease – those requiring access to public space, for instance, and human contact."

I only get the data from Australia since it is the one who gave a simpler information about the topic. As what you've read, the number of crimes decreased when the virus started due to lockdown and spread awareness of it. The spread of this virus is inevitable and even a criminal can't avoid it so they chose to stay on their house. 

Positive thinker, more prayer

Have you noticed that when covid-19 discovered, Many people became positive thinker? How? Why? By simply looking at the bright side of their life. They are thinking that sooner or later, the vaccine will be invented and makes the virus away. Using the prayer, they are wishing that this pandemic will end as soon as possible and asking for God's guide so they are always safe. Having a positive mindset is the best tool on our life so we should apply it on our daily lives, have you heard about "Law of attraction"? If no, you can read my article about it. You or we, should be tested positive in life for the better future. If we set our mindset on a positive one, it has also a big chance to have a positive and good outcome.

Manage your money and budget

At the time of pandemic, the government implemented a lockdown to make us safer during the pandemic. Obviously, when our community is on lockdown state, we can't go outside because it is against the health protocols and it is the reason why we can't go to a different place such as school, friend's house nor working area and because of this, our jobs are temporarily suspended. The suspension of our jobs resulted in having financial problem so we should learn how to manage our money wisely. When the pandemic started, most of us learned how to save money. We learned that every cent counts, saving is important and use our money only when it is needed. We've seen the value of every cents that we have and learned how to give a value on what we have. To be honest, if there's no corona virus and we have a face-to-face classes, maybe we are having a hard time to provide our needs because my parents need to give us money to spend in our school, the transportation fee, the snacks that we need to buy and also the allowance. We talked about it last day and I ended up writing an article about this because at some point, I treat this virus as Blessing in disguise. Since we only have an online class, the things that my parents need to provide is the expenses in out internet but I am not asking a money for them because the money that I am spending for my internet is from readcash and noisecash. 

Being independent of the students

Lastly, having a pandemic or online class also have an advantage on the students because we can't deny that some students are just copying the answers from their classmates when they have an exam, quizzes and activities but since we are using online class as an alternative way of learning, the only ally of the students are their self. They will try to solve it, find the solution, write an essay with their own, answering exams and other school activities. They don't need to depend themselves on their classmates and other students.

Closing thoughts

This is just a short article that based in my own opinion. I'm not saying that I am glad that covid-19 was discovered, I am just looking at the brighter side of having this kind of pandemic because I believe that everything has advantage and disadvantage, we're just focusing on one side and what we've seen. We're blinded by our own perspective and perception.
