Everyone has the right to cheat

Hello everyone, happy Sunday to you all

Today's article is inspired by a post I came across on nairaland a few days ago, the title of the post simply reads; Jealous girlfriend destroys boyfriend's TV, others for cheating. A video accompanied the post and in it, a girl was outside her boyfriend's house throwing huge stones through the window, destroying things inside the house

According to the boyfriend, he said someone told her that he is in the house with another woman, so she came to his house with fury and started destroying his things through the window. Now I am not going to bother about if the boyfriend is really cheating or not but why destroy things when you can just leave the relationship?

She's lucky that her boyfriend is a calm person, what if It's someone that has a hot temper and he decides to beat her up after that? Many people condemned her actions and some men said they will get her arrested and she must pay for the damages she caused, but I was surprised to see someone supporting the destruction. In her words, she said;

I don't support destruction of properties. But I support dealing with cheats if there is glaring evidence. So breaking of electronics is small. The whole building should've been crushed with a bulldozer and the guy is liable to lose his body part or small part of his life depending on the gravity of the cheating

This lady has probably been cheated on so many times for her to have so much hate in her hate. I immediately challenged her and made it clear to her that it isn't a crime to cheat on your partner, but it's a crime to destroy someone's property and you can get arrested, but nobody has been arrested (legally) for breaking someone's heart.

In plain terms, I am saying that nobody has the right to destroy someone's else property but everyone who isn't married has the right to cheat, it's now up to you as a morally upright person to stay faithful to your partner or cheat like a dog. I don't know how it is done in other places but here in my country, the law doesn't recognize boyfriend/girlfriend relationships.

You and your partner didn't go to a court of law to take an oath of chastity before starting your relationship, nothing is binding both of you to commitment except "I love you" and "I love you too" and if they eventually cheat in the relationship, you can't do anything except walking away, it's just the bitter truth. I have seen and heard stories of jilted lovers taking out their frustration on their partner's properties, some even go as far as inflicting body harm or committing murder!

Some of them get away with it (not the murder aspect tho) but the unfortunate ones are beaten up by their partner or they end up getting arrested and made to pay for the destruction they caused. If it comes down to it and the matter is brought before a judge in a court of law, how are they even going to justify their actions? "He broke my heart, so I destroyed his car", and they think the judge is going to sympathize with them?

Most of them probably did what they did out of anger; getting cheated on is one of the worst feelings in the world and everyone has different reactions to it. Some shrug it off and move on immediately, some cry their eyes out, some start binge-watching their favorite TV shows, then we have the commandos that get consumed with anger and go on a destroying spree; wreaking havoc on whatever they lay their hands on.

We don't know who's capable of cheating until it eventually happens, you can't predict when it happens and it's something that just hits you from nowhere. Just in case you find yourself in such a painful situation, try to get your hands off any of the person's properties, and don't even bother getting into a fight, you're bigger than that. Don't try to be like the cheating bastard and do things that will hurt them, the best you can do is to leave the relationship and go find happiness somewhere else, your happiness isn't tied to one person.

Thanks for reading 💖💖💖

Well said everyone has the right to cheat but doesn't give men the right to disrespect a woman feelings.

Even though it's not exactly a crime to be disrespectful, it's still something a morally upright person should do without being forced

Yes, we can all cheat but do we have to? Even if we can, that doesn't mean we have to.

That's exactly what I'm saying, everyone is free to cheat but that doesn't mean it's right

Any kind of cheatings is always disgusting, if your lover cheats on you the best thing is to end the relationship with no buts, but destroying stuffs that doesn't have to do with your relationship is not a good way to handle the situation, but maybe to some people it feels great to destroy something when you are already fuel with anger and mixed emotions.

Exactly, cheating is disgusting but destroying properties isn't the solution to it, that itself is disgusting as well

Truely what you have said is great but doesn't mean guys should have the freedom of going out the wrong way, to cheat, some of them call it have fun, just because there is no rule that says if you break someone's heart you will be arrested

The way most ladies take this relationship serious ehhh! As in, is this this not the relationship we hear about on a regular basis or there's another thing? I go just dey wonder.

As long as it's just a relationship, it can never be a do or die affair, if someone is pained or hurt, he or she is permitted to leave without or with little announcement. Married People are even cheating and it has not gotten to this.

🤣 leave the crazy girl first, someone who is just in a relationship is acting as if the guy signed a document that he belongs to her, even married people that signed marriage register and swear an oath of chastity still end up cheating

When it comes to cheating in relationships, I believe that if your partner cheats on you, then they don't deserve you and it is best to leave the relationship. If they are lucky enough to find love again, the lesson would encourage them to keep it in their pants, that's if they truly learnt anything. I cannot be stressing myself on top of man oo. Any male or female that cheats in a relationship doesn't deserve to be in one. And you see that lady, she's got issues. That's what you get when you get into a relationship with a psychiatric ward patient.

🤣🤣🤣 you and your iconic comments, always a delight. The boyfriend should be grateful that something like this happened, even though it's unfortunate that his properties were destroyed, at least it saved him from making the mistake of taking things further in the relationship and end up marrying a mad woman

Sad but true, when someone gets hurt they will burst their anger without thinking about what would be the outcomes of their hatred.when you realize it maybe too late

Exactly, some of them eventually come to their senses but by that time it's already too late, they have done something they will regret

Destruction of property because one is cheated is very unwise really. Infact, the other partner would be thankful that he didn't go ahead to wife you.m, because she's likely to do worse after marry at any small provocation.

😂 I forgot to mention this sef, the guy really dodged a bullet. People like that (the girlfriend) usually pretend during relationship but once you get married to them, they become demons. Na that type dey beat husband if he no wash plate 😂

Why would she destroys her boyfriend's properties because he was cheating on her? That's foolishness na. I even get mad at those killing their partners over cheating. Like, are they married already? They are still dating secretly and illegally and so, you are free to step out of such a relationship or stay. You don't have a say on a person until both of you are bonded in church or court.

That's what many of them fail to understand, the same way it's easy to enter a relationship is also the same way it will be easy to break. In fact, it's even easier to break than to create one, coz there's nothing binding you to the other person, it isn't marriage. Some people enter into a relationship and think they are already married 😆 even the married ones still have their own issues, not to mention two people that are running around in secret, deceiving each other

Cheating is so bad it breaks people's hearts and can't trust others anymore. But the girl should not have destroyed her property because she cheated.

Yes you're right, cheating is very bad but that doesn't give her the right ti destroy his properties

Destruction of property is very bad. Cheating is also very bad but the woman should get to know the person well before having a relationship.

People's tempered will arouse if they know some things can break them and hurt them to the worst that's a lesson, we should always be a good partner and then we should learn to control our emotions too.

Have a nice day kushyzee.

That's just the summary of it, we should always control our emotions and learn to not do things out of anger. Have a lovely day too Ramona 🤗

That is why, we should always guard our heart. I mean, before entering into a relationship, we should see to it that we are physically and emotionally stable.

A lot of people only look at the fun part of relationships, they aren't prepared for when something eventually goes wrong and that's why they can't control their emotions when that happens

Crimes of passion. That's what they call it... still it's a crime. Some people gets too emotionally attached to their partner that they can't take it if the other cheats or leave.

Then again... a 'good' relationship is based on trust, and cheating destroys that trust...

You got the right words for it; crimes of passion. I know being cheated on comes with a very nasty feeling but it's better to keep those feelings in check, so we don't end up doing something regretful
