Dear Kristoffer, I completely agree with you, the presence of toxic friends in our circle of friends increases our stress and anxiety, they also take away our self-confidence. All the solutions you mentioned are great to deal with them.
We really need to distance ourselves from toxic people so wouldn't get infected ourselves.
Showing them anger is the biggest. Once they see that, that thing they're doing get you mad, they quickly stay off. But when you are open and welcome, they'd feel relaxed and keep doing their thing in your presence
We need to be able to express our dissatisfaction immediately so they wouldn't do it next time.
First point is very apt to avoid toxic friend. Once we limit our interaction they will move away themselves from us.
Next time make a post on Toxic relatives, because I'm living among them :/
I apply the same principles as above :D but living with them? That's another issue :D
uggghh don't even get me started, I swear o God I will burst with anger lol
Living with them is even worse.. I sometimes wanna run away..
Those toxic family members are everywhere l, I dont think we can escape them as long as we're still part of the family.
Leave and limiting interaction work wonders. They work for me very well :D
I do that a lot and it worksm we sinoly need to stay away from certain people if we wanna he free from stress.
Totally agree, toxic friends could drain us mentally and emotionally. Also, they could really be a horrible influence that could ruin our social network.
Toxic friends could even affect one's self esteem. One would think that he/she ain't good enough because he's never appreciated by such people
That's right.
You are right but not everyone is the same. Of course we should stay away from our toxic friends but if there is no friend in someone's life then something seems to be missing. I think friendship is the deepest and strongest relationship, be it with parents or anyone else.
I do agree with your post, but I believe they should be avoided at all cost, make them know you don't want to interact with them anymore for your peace of mind. Stand by your words and don't let their pity face or words get to you.
It's always good when we can make decisions regardless of how it sounds to the third party in the case of a toxic friend we need to be able to make the decision of walking away.
Yes we should just walk away
Ugh, I just avoid them at all cost. I do not like to be around them. I prefer small circle of friends, actually.
Me too. But it seems those toxic people are everywhere and we just can't escape them.
