Sometimes I wish God himself could come down physically to us and give us some simple basic understanding of the scripture because it seems people don't fancy the Holy Spirit doing that. We believe more on a physical teacher than a spirited human.

First of all, how do you read and understand the word of God?

  • You read personally and find some truth via the literal writings (I mean understanding the written words, literally)?

  • You read and allow the Holy Ghost to explain to you?

  • You read and depend more on teachings of leaders e.g pastors? Prophets, priests? Etc

Which category are you? Some may claim they read and allow the Holy spirit to teach them but checking within, you'll know that you haven't experienced that once.

I'm not gonna go more into scriptures or so, but there are bugging points in my head that I want to point out.

Yes, we are serving one God and we ought to follow one step and doctrine but practically, this is far from us... it's fine, I don't have a problem with this, as long as we are serving God genuinely.

Why is it that we have different understanding??

Let me start with books I've read some years ago, books by well known men of God. One of the book stated that there's nothing like "UNKNOWN SIN" and the other book stated that "UNKNOWN SIN" exist.

SIN UNKNOWN here means the sin we commit/committed unknowingly such as lying to people without knowing, maybe to cover up something that's about to scatter, where you say it easily without knowing you just lied. And because you didn't felt that you lied, you won't bother to ask God for forgiveness.

I didn't pondered much on checking who's correct or not but I rather let it be, they saw the truth in different aspect.

Another one again was when a priest picked up on social media to counter another priest's preaching that said miracle money is real. The priest that countered it said there's nothing like miracle money. And they went down the lane to deliberate on it, and they gave series of examples especially the man that was told to go and collect money in the mouth of a fish(reference to the Bible). The delebration took a while and had many mouths on it. I didn't followed to drag because I find it hard to argue Bible, yeah I'm not fond of that.

Late week, a well known Church in my country had a program that attracted the masses and during one of the services, the man of God laid curses on the internet fraudsters, duping and killing for rituals. Just two days ago, I stumbled on a video on Facebook about a pastor, dishing words against the man of God that laid curse on internet fraudsters. At first I thought it was a staged event but it was clear that it was done during church service. Although he said some truthful words, that they should lay curses on bad government first before channeling to other sector...he said said a lot things which I can't say here.

Is the Holy Spirit really the teacher of these priest?

If we are being taught by one teacher, then well follow the same procedure to arrive at an answer. I remember when we were taught BINARY in mathematics, the teacher that first taught us, taught us with the wrong procedure which we didn't know untill another teacher took over. The former procedure was wrong but we were made to understand and follow it,,,even when we were getting wrong answers that looked correct. What am I saying in the essence? If it's the Holy Spirit that's interpreting the written word for us, then confusion would be far off.

I'm just wondering, why did God allowed it so, why did He made everyone to have different interpretation to His world, even the ones that said they hear from HIM(The Holy spirit)...if their claims are true though.

I know we have different levels of interpretation such as the level of education and intellect, but why are we not beckoning on the Holy for the real interpretation?

________________________

A lot of people are interpreting the word to their favour. I'm not judging๐Ÿ™‹.

Haven't you seen where religious houses preaching some common odd practices as not a sin? Haven't you seen where churches are preaching fornication as not an offense before the God, because of the modern era we are now, because we are in a modern world and we need to quench s**xual urge.

Enough of the comparism

In order not to get confused on the right part to take;

Allow only the Holy Spirit to be your teacher: Yeah, this is possible, make Him the sole Interpreter of the world of God to you. Is this possible? Yeah! Attend church but look more on what the holy spirit says to you...IF ONLY YOU CAN HEAR FROM HIM.

Stick to one Priest/Pastor/Prophet: You'll get more confused when you try to bond with another mentor outside your faith. When you start comparing you'll loose it within a short time. If you are going to be with multiple men of God, please select People of the same faith.

But in all these, how do we know the differences if we don't digress?๐Ÿค”. FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

All written from my soft mind and it's open for contribution and correction

Thanks for reading

Gbam! You have started seeing the same thing I saw years ago, why is there different interpretations of the bible if the holy spirit is the one giving the interpretation? Does it mean there's more than one holy spirit? It can be that, which leaves only one option; a lot of these so called pastors aren't really hearing from the holy spirit, they are just giving their own interpretation which can be wrong most of the time. This is why I will rather listen to my instincts than to take the words of a pastor to heart, the holy spirit can speak to anybody

Thnsk youuu! I've known this thing for a while and I've been following the doctrines/messages that are cool within me and not being dragged to follow steps that are always battling my system.

Hmm. your words are filled with wisdom. They say "too many cook spoil the broth". First and foremost just like you mentioned, we should seek the face and guidance of the almighty first. The preacher is also a mere mortal like us. He could as well make mistakes too.

Yeah, preachers are mere mortals and are prone to mistakes but it's unfortunate that most of them are not seeing it as mistake, but 'right knowledge'. Happy church day dearie

Hi kingsley happy weekend. I really have seen different churches preaching against what is written in the bible that sounds crazy isn't it . Most times people say what they don't know about the holy spirit and that is a big sin

Yeah, it's happening always. Sometimes I feel like God if being too merciful to be seeing all thses and still stay put. Make the world just end...but I never enjoy life to the fullest Sha

Hi, my dear friend king. I don't know which religion you profess but I tell you about mine. I belong to the Roman Catholic and Apostolic Christian religion. The word says that cursed is the man who trusts in another man. And there is also another verse that says that the word cannot be interpreted individually. In other words, the Lord has already explained the meaning of his word, that is why we must congregate and discern according to the Holy Spirit what the Lord explained in his word. I do not follow a priest by his title but by what he represents according to God. I want to hear the word and the wisdom behind it. If that man decides to be a sinner and not respect what God has given him as a gift then he will have his own judgment and I will not be the one to do it. With the same yardstick you measure you will be measured.

Nicely illustrated ma๐Ÿ™Œ. Yeah, I strongly agree that the basis of learning the truth about God is via the Holy Spirit and I pointed that out.

Maybe your region is fair enough not to be influenced by leaders in churches in the form of priests, pastors, Prophets etc... Here, we have teachers of the gospel as leaders, that's supposed to have more knowledge of the gospel,,,based on their sacrifices to the studying and being close to God. But the alarming thing is that, these people explains some parts of the scriptures differently. It's very common here.

And that's why I stated that we should key into the Holy Ghost

Yes, I understood your point. I wrote that in the word it says that the bible cannot be interpreted at our convenience, the word comes with the explanation of our Lord. To explain it differently only brings confusion and is not guided by the Holy Spirit who is one.

Understanding the word of God requires the holy spirit as we cannot understand the revelation of his word by mere human reasoning.
