Happiest Birthday, Mother Dear
0190502022
Hello there, my dear read cash buddies. How’s it going? I hope you guys had a great day and spent your day full of fun and positivity. As for me, I really had fun yesterday. Well, not literally fun in a hyper mode, just fun spending the day with my family and being able to laugh along with them is already enough.
You already know what my write-up for today is all about, as written in the title of this article. Yesterday was my precious mother’s birthday, and she is already 59 years old. Yes, she’s already old because she’s almost turned into a senior citizen. We all know that our mom is not getting younger already, so we really need to look for her. My mom was still working as one of the staff in our barangay hall. We have been telling her to stop working and resign because she’s no longer as strong and energetic as before. Because there were times when there was an event and everyone would get busy, especially the staff in our barangay, as they were in charge of almost everything.
My mom would sometimes return home very late because of too much work that needed to be finished. When she gets home, she complains that her hands hurt from all of the paperwork that needs to be encoded and written. We have been telling her a hundred times that she should quit her job already because, at that age, she is supposed to be in the house, taking care of the house, and not waking up early in the morning to go to work. But every time we told her that, she would then say that we should just let her do what she wants because she wants to have an income too to provide for us. Well, my siblings are employed, but she just wanted to work and have her own income.
Yesterday, she left home early and went to her workplace. When I woke up, she had already left the house. Later, I saw her Facebook story and couldn't help but smile at how happy my mother appeared to be. Her colleagues did a little surprise for her; they bought flowers and balloons and some cakes and food. They then sang "Happy Birthday" to her, and I can really tell how happy my dearest mom is when she receives those little surprises.
It was already 7 in the evening when she returned home yesterday. She brought the cakes and some spaghetti leftovers that they had. My grandpa handed me some money to buy a roasted chicken because we would have our dinner all together. We just celebrated our mom’s birthday in a very simple way. We couldn’t hold a small party or get together because our grandma was home and she was not allowed to get exposed in noisy surroundings, as her doctor said. Because it can make her feel uncomfortable and could trigger her brain if exposed to a chaotic and noisy place.
So, we celebrated my mother’s birthday by having dinner together as a whole family. We bought some foods that are just good for us. When my brother arrived, he brought a box of cake and a small bouquet for my mom. My brother was always like this; it’s like his yearly routine whenever someone in our family celebrates a birthday. He would never forget to buy a cake for that celebrant.
After we had our dinner, Grandpa then went close to Grandma and said that today was their oldest daughter’s birthday and pointed toward my mom. My grandma just smiled at her. She couldn’t remember all of our names, but she knew the people with whom she rarely interacts. We asked her if she had a daughter named *** and then she said yes, but she didn’t know that my mom was just right beside her.
My mother’s birthday was simple but memorable because we got to celebrate our mom’s birthday with our grandma at home. :>
Thank you guys for reading!
See you on my next blog! Stay hydrated and stay safe always :>
